One light is a great place to start with studio lighting, but adding a second light opens up a whole new world of possibilities to the home studio photographer. In this video, Gavin Hoey shows how adding a hair light can separate a model from the background. Watch as Gavin then puts the theory into practice on a bubble themed shoot.
After the shoot follow Gavin into Photoshop, where he has a brilliant trick for quickly adding more bubbles to the final photo.

I like your presentations. SO far, the best I've seen from Adorama. I've been shooting in the studio for 20+ years so I know most of the things you're presenting but some of the technology has changed (Photoshop) and remote control for flashes, so it's always good to see newer ways to do things.

Gavin - I understand exposure and your use of the light meter although I don't understand how you change exposure for the two lights independently. Is this all on the camera shoe mount control? I know it's not a TTL system. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the individual purpose of each piece of flash gear. Thanks, I appreciate the videos!

great vid, just rotate the bubbles a tiny bit to align the light origin when you copy and paste/move them for perfection.

Great vid! I never really understood what screen blending mode did until now. (I use Gimp rather than Photoshop but I'm sure the effect of screen mode is the same.)
