Once again one of your videos has helped me out. Your videos have been SOO helpful, and yet this one is the most recent one from 2 years ago...why don't you post anymore? I hope you are okay...
Another amazing video. I just did a 30 second commercial and as soon as I get payment within the week, I am buying our EQ course! I wish I had discovered you sooner.
Hi sir, thanks a ton to your hard work and these knowledgeful videos. I am a voice over artist from jaipur, india and your videos helped me a lot. I have enhanced my skills of voive over and dubbing through this. Keep posting and educating.👍
I am actually crying right now. I am so happy that I found your channel. I am old school, 59 years old, have been in the voice-over business for many years. I always went to the studio and had an engineer when I recorded. Since Covid, I have had to create my own home studio. Keep in mind, I was born in 1963 and I am NO audio engineer. I know how to send emails, that's it. I haven't been getting much work because my recordings sound awful. I have spent months scanning these RU-vid videos, and nothing worked. I am so happy that I stumbled on to yours. I sound a lot better with your tips, but I don't sound perfect, like you. I don't know if I should buy an expensive microphone, like a Sennheiser or Neumann. Or maybe a more expensive laptop? I like working with Audacity because it is the only DAW I can figure out. I have tried all the others and can't make them work.
Hey Cynthia! So glad I could help! I wouldn’t be able to give any equipment advice until I know the inner workings of your home studio. Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in a private session. Wishing you all the best!😊
That voice...just melts me. Ahhhhhh EDIT: I've told you about my set up. I use the cheapest door mat that I could find with no backing on it (most of the time they have a rubber backing to prevent slipping...you just want the weave) and hang it with hooks from my ceiling. I just upgraded to a 6 foot long, from a 3' and now i have a perfect half circle around me. The next tip I have is to write what you want to say on your phone and hide the computer behind the wall. I've found that the screen can reverb slightly. My audio is perfect now.
Hi Josh 👋 It's your permanent Indian subscriber. You are directing people through the right process and doing a great job. Thanks a ton for clearing my doubts in audio editing. And one more thing, i have rarely heard such a booming voice like yours.
So, I know I need to do more sound treating - but- got a question about getting an authentic idea of what my recording sounds like while editing. I recorded some samples and they sounded decent after I edited them, listening through my headphones. After uploading them to ACX I decided to go back later for a listen and I was using earbuds... it sounded terrible. And I don't think it was the earbuds. Everyone recommends listening through headphones for editing, but a lot of people listening to finished audiobooks use earbuds... any thoughts on that? I mean besides the fact that I have a lot to learn ;) Thank you so much for all the wonderful content. Even though I have no idea what I'm doing, just having access to this has given me the confidence to think about diving off that cliff. Still teetering on the edge.
I'm so stoked that I found you ! I was very near to giving up on my goal of becoming an ACX narrator, but with your Audacity tutorial I finally got my sh*t figured out !! I have a few questions about the EQ course which I have emailed. I look forward to your response and thanks again for your videos.
Josh, your videos are fantastic. You make everything so easy to understand. Love it.. A few questions… What do think of the AT 2020 USB Mic? Do you have a lesson on Punch/Copy…Punch/Paste for inserting room noise ? Where do I sign up for EQ Class? I’m ready. I subscribed Ah thank you. Ah thank you very much
Hey Josh! Silly question, but when you were walking us through your sound dampening setup, you explained what was in front of you and behind you, but do you have anything on either side, or does most of the sound go front to back?
@@VoiceOverMaster thanks for the reply man! I saw another viewer already post this, but I am also planning on getting your EQ course once I’ve done a few VO gigs :)
I have absolutely no room for any type of audio room. I'm just starting out and have no idea if I'll even get any gigs so I'm just trying it out sitting on my bed at home in my bedroom with a laptop and usb mic.
Hey bro, I am having this problem with my audio where it sounds fine in audacity, but when I add it to a video and then upload that video onto RU-vid It sounds super distorted. I have been trying to fix this problem by changing the settings in audacity but haven’t found a solution yet. I will be very thankful if you or anybody in the comment section can help me out.
