Exactly. They are good people trying to help their kids and survive their financial struggles. They also went to Max and try to talk to him but he gave them bad beat downs with the traps instead.

You’re not the only this was the biggest flaw of the movie. It was different when it was just The Wet Bandits who were actual criminals.

I agree that they don't deserve it, but Max thought they were human traffickers, which is the worst crime anyone can commit, so I'd say both sides are equally justified.

They only did this for money and had a family unlike the other ones

And that’s the big problem with this movie. It worked with The Wet Bendits because they legit bad guys. This was just a nice couple down on their luck.

Right, that’s why the Wet Bendits worked so well in the first two films. They were criminals breaking into the house and were legit actively trying to kill him so Kevin had no choice but to fight back.

Technically, this is at least new for the Home Alone series where all the previous people have been bandits or people who do want to steal something, but the larger trend is noted.

In the original 1990 the Wet Bandits we're just bandits trying to steal something that isn't even theirs to begin with and they were the ones trying to kill Kevin in the process. Here it ain't the same in the slightest

Incredulous. Terrible story. Terrible casting. Terrible acting. Terrible cinematography. If there are two things I have to give credit for is Buzz’s cameo and the soundtrack. True it’s not as powerful as John Williams’ score but you can tell that John Debney was at least *trying* with the music.

I hated Home Sweet Home Alone. Here are my reasons why it's the worst sequel ever made The "Burglars" are not Burglars They're an innocent couple who are about to lose their home Max being left home alone makes no sense in the original it made sense cause there was a power outage and the family were in a hurry to get to the airport which was why Kevin was accidentally left Home Alone. In this movie Max just falls asleep in the car and that's how he gets left behind The traps are not funny at all cause it involves an innocent couple who don't deserve it unlike Harry & Marv who actually did deserve it cause they were bad people. The Buzz cameo was very forced, the references to the first two movies are just forced This movie felt like an attack on two movies that mean so much to me and were part of my childhood. This movie was terrible. It's like taking something you really loved as a kid and just abusing it. Home Sweet Home Alone is the worst sequel i've ever seen. It used to be Speed 2 Cruise Control, but i recognize that Home Sweet Home Alone is worse than Speed 2 Cruise Control. It is one of the worst movies i've ever seen. It's mean spirited and insulting to my Home Alone Nostalgia.

New Home Alone, New Movie.

The difference between the two duos is that Pam and Jeff are trying to provide for their kids, while Harry and Marv are criminals who steal from others. Because they are criminals the pain they suffer is funny because Kevin was giving them their just desserts, especially when you consider they attempted a much more evil burglary in the sequel that involves charity for a children's hospital.
