Ultherapy, also known as Mini Hifu or High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound is one of the latest FDA-approved ways to tighten facial skin, lift the brows and target loose skin around the jawline and eyes. Using micro-focused ultrasound to heat the SMAS layer, it stimulates collagen production while providing contraction, tightening, and lifting lax skin. While there are small initial results, it takes 2 - 3 months for the real results to start coming in.
Home ultherapy and Mini Hifu instructions are hard to find. The ones that come with the at-home hifu machine make very little sense. There are two ways to perform an Ultherapy treatment - static and moving. In this home HIFU machine review, I use the static placement on one half of my face and demonstrate the mini hifu tutorial followed by the ultherapy before and after.
This Hifu device has a power of 5J per CM2 covering an area of 4CM2 at a time. With a frequency of 3mhz, it has a penetration depth of 4.5mm on level 3, 3mm on level two, and 1.5mm on level one. The ultherapy home device can be used once a week until you reach the results you are after - then switch over to once every 3 months.

Just wanted to tell you that according to a doctor I watch on here, Dr. Anil Rajani, whom I think you will like....he has a great personality like you do....YOU ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT YOU DHOULD!!! I had this done professionally and she did a pass over at 4.5mm.. then another pass at 3mm. HIFU works and it has certainty made a difference in this video and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. 👍

I also have this same device y your video is the most clear and informative that I found on RU-vid to use it. I love it! I also have the two Foreo Bears but you have to use them everyday to be a little effective, and they only treat de muscles below the skin, but not the skin itself. The mini Hifu is pretty impressive, though, using it only once a month. My results are not as impressive as yours (probably because I'm younger and my skin, apart from some fine lines in the forehead and some looseness on the jawline is still pretty fine and tight), but with only one session you have visible results especially tightening the skin around the jawline and the cheeks, which is definitively my biggest issue, for now. It also helps with the forehead lines so I'm really grateful of having finded your video. Thanks a lot!

Hi TJ, Splendid video presentation. Questions below: 1) Now that you used RF and HIFU, given a choice which you prefer? 2) Is your RF machine more powerful than mini HIFU (handheld)? Reason is that RF machine operates on a constant power supply whereas mini HIFU operates on battery. 3) What is the usage frequency for using mini HIFU? Once monthly, weekly or daily? 4) Does mini HIFU gives you a zap on the face like RF? Thank you.

Hi Chrishan2004. I haven't had the Mini Hifu long enough to be able to say whether it s better than my RF machine yet. The Hifu actually runs off of mains power too - no battery with this one. I am using the mini hifu once a week above the brow and under the chin, and once every 8 weeks on the full face until I can see whether it will cause excessive facial fat loss or not. No zaps from the Hifu so far, so I'm assuming not. :)

I am freaking out! Just got mine. My right eyelid is super droopy, not the left. I just did my right eyelid twice on 3, meh, one more shot on 3 and OMG, my eyelid instantly lifted. I am looking at it and I just can’t believe it!

Here is a one month update, my initial lift didn’t last more than a day. I repeated the procedure 3 times during this one month. To the outer part of the eyelid, I can see a small lift. Center and closer to the nose, the eyelid is still heavy, if lifted, it is not noticeable. I’ll keep going, as I know that will take time, but just in case, I am shopping around for an eyelid surgery:). I’ll give it time until April.

Giaomgia hi what’s the update on your eyelids? I just got a hifu and I have drippy upper eyelids. Is it worth doing it? Or does it cause damage? Or any scarring? Thanks

@@karenquinn99 the update is that immediately after I do it, I can see a bit of contraction. Long term there was no improvement. I started consulting with plastic surgeons, one thing lead to the other and possible ptosis diagnose is on the table, an ocular surgeon is running tests to rule out thyroid issues. Bottom line is, if I don’t have thyroid issues causing thyroid eye, I’ll just do upper blehplasty.

Testing it on my arm/ body first as I don’t want to do any damage / scarring to my face. Did you tell the plastic surgeon you had used it on your eyes lids? Just wondering what they thought of it?

By the way I looked at one of your videos from Sep 2019 and I can’t see any eyelids dropping at all. You are Gorgeous!!!! I do want to try hifu on my face but I don’t want to do any long term damage. I am 49 years old but not keen on eyelids surgery ( but I may have to consider it in a few years). Take care

I find that using them to a set schedule and not too often at a high frequency helps minimise the fat loss risk. I've been using them for well over a year now and no issues at all :)

Thank you for making this video TJ! This is my favourite video on using the mini HIFU device from all the HIFU videos you have done. I especially liked the way you mapped out your face. When I am ready to do my first treatment session this is what I plan to do. And that brow lift you had at the end convinced me it is a "must have"! Wow. My decision to purchase my next device for anti-aging was between an RF, Thermage type of device or mini HIFU. I did a fair amount of research between those three. Several Medical Doctors had had better success with HIFU than the other treatments. Although most DIY devices are not as strong as the in office treatments, it just made sense to go with a device that reaches the deeper skin layers. When I use this mini HIFU I plan to do a medical microneedling session right after. Blessings

@@adminuser7221Well... I purchased the device but was afraid to use it for 2 years because I cannot have any fat loss on my slim face. After watching many videos and listening carefully to the safety precautions, and taking MANY notes I did finally did do a mini HIFU session earlier this week. Because I reviewed my notes, rewatched several videos, mapped out my face and neck (just like TJ did), tested my machine, and did the mini HIFU treatment...all of that took me a long time. So by the time I completed my mini HIFU I was out of steam to continue and also do the microneedling. Two days after my mini HIFU session I did do a medical microneedling treatment to my face, neck and hands. How did my mini HIFU session go? Excellent! I'm looking forward to doing another one! 😊

Although I did not do both the mini HIFU and microneedling sessions on the same day, two days after using my mini HIFU device I did a medical microneedling session with a dermapen (face and neck) and dermaroller (hands). For several years I have used a dermaroller but this was the first time that I used a dermapen. My results? Medical and Cosmetic Microneedling are both excellent and highly recommended. It does take time to see results. If I have limited time then I try to at least do Medical Microneedling every 4 - 6 weeks. This week was the first time I used my mini HIFU device. Two days later I did Medical Microneedling. I am very happy with both treatments as long as safety is a priority. All the best!

Hi TJ!! Thank you for all your videos I just ran across yours today actually! Ive watched so many of these micro needling plasma pens, Fybro blasting ect. But, this one is new to me! I have not seen a video on this yet so thank you! But, I would really like to see a person that actually needs this done, I know we are our own worst critics aren't we! Hi Mitzi. I will take those compliments. If you see my videos from 12 months ago to today, you will see how I've transformed. I had very deep crows feet, forehead wrinkles and facial sagging. I don't have Botox and fillers and I've gone beyond my thirties. I still have quite a way to go, but maybe look at some of my original videos and you'll see how well these all work. 😊

I used mini hifu for a year, recently I saw in videos that I should take the lid or cover off before putting the gel and contacting the device on my face. hilarious hahaha. No one ever mentioned that I should take the lid off not even in the manual or in websites. Surprisingly there is still some effect, do you think it still worked?

Haha. Do you know what though? You're absolutely right! The way that the lid is made makes it look like it's actually part of the device. So I can see why you didn't think to take it off. I'm doubtful that it would work the way that it should with the lid on, but if you're seeing results, then maybe it has. Thanks for the laugh. I really needed one this morning 🙂

I am in my twenties, I am athletic and muscular, but my cheeks are big and I don't have a well-defined jawline. What is your opinion on this HIFU device for face slimming? And will it lead to premature skin aging or long-term side effects? Is it effective in defining the jawline?

H faycalhambli. Hifu can be used for facial slimming, but you need to understand that when you remove fat from the cheeks, the lower face tends to lose support and can begin to sag. (which is why you should be very careful about removing too much of it) You'll notice this in people in their late 30s and 40s when their cheek fat begins to flatten, causing the nasolabial folds to deepen and jowls to appear. Jawlines can be enhanced with EMS treatments to develop the masseter muscles, giving a more chilled look. I hope thins helps.

Smokers lines... Naughty naughty 😝 No judgement here, we all have our little pleasures in life. 😊 I would say microneedling at 0.5mm for shallow lines and up to 1mm for deeper ones would work well. Using a good EGF peptide with microneedling can help quite a lot too. For brown spots (sun damage, freckles, etc) a 12.5% TCA peel will help to fade them very quickly. (I do a 12.5% every three months) also, try to use a broad spectrum facial sunscreen of at least SPF 50+ every day to prevent them from coming back. 😊 Thanks for the lovely comment.

I do mine once every 10-12 weeks, but you can do it once every 2 weeks for the first few treatments.

I wonder if you find this device more powerful than home Radio Frequency. After all, this is RF as HIFU never gets hot on the surface of the skin. It's good you know the dangers of it affecting facial volume due to the home device being for daily use so if you must use this on the face, you know to keep the power low. Will it do anything on such low power? I'm impressed with the brow lifting!

Thanks so much for these videos! Curious whether you think HIFU would work to eliminate some fat and jowliness under chin and along jawline, or whether one of your other machines or techniques would work better. I can't see myself injecting fat dissolvers in my own chin, I would be too scared, but I am trying to figure out whether there is anything I can do at home that would help with under chin and jowl fat.
