so funny you got beer garden benches. Here in Germany almost every family owns one in case they‘re having a party and need more seats. Hope you‘ll like it.
Haha, totally! I just thought oh noooo what, Bierbänke?! Really! I hate them too, so uncomfortable. But I understand why a bench makes totally sense there. For the real Bierbank version you need to add some white-blue checkered ribbon cussions 🙈
I'm still waiting for you to get a different coffee table without fabric, I feel like there's a lot of fabric between the two couches and the bench in the middle 😅
I agree, different material, color would be cool just to break up the textures/color palette, but as long as she’s happy and uplifts her mood then cool 😊
I was just coming here to say that !!!!!!!!!!! LOL i bought some loose linen shorts which i think are very Wassel style . I just have to work out how to half tuck a baggy t shirt ........ any suggestions ? Also as. Gen X woman I will have to get some ankle socks LOL as I normally wear no shows
My first thought was: "nooo why would you want to get a beerset?!?" (as I'm from Germany) because they're so uncomfortable and wobbly and I loved your initial table and chairs! Benches are just so uncomfortable, nobody likes sitting on them for a long time. You could've stained your old table but I'm happy you're happy and am excited to see what you'll change further. I think I'd change one of the sofas &/ the coffee table.
Sometimes I realize I am in too deep, for example when I thought, Oh Laini mentioned she watches Paige and she is also sponsored by KOTN, what a small world!
I like the idea of the pavers!! Realistically, though, if you're only going to be there through the end of this one year lease, I'd say skip 'em, and buy something cute to wear/eat/decorate with instead
wow. I m from germany. Its crazy how expensiv the biergarten sets are over at your place. We pay around 100 new and nothing for old ones. I guess, because they are extremely uncomfortable.
Love the whole direction the living room is going, can’t wait to see how you add the color back in! The bedroom is also looking SO good, and it’s been really fun to see you try things out and reassess and tweak, like you know, a real person
The dark rug is absolutely perfect compared to the orange. It instantly feels warm and cozy. Cheers for making that change. Same goes for the outdoor furniture. Summer always bring out style ideas. Happy Birthday 🥳🥳🥳. Hope your party didn't disappoint.
@@alexandra8462 loool the only time i've felt "stable" on these, is when its sunday and i'm sitting outside on a paved street, eating a veggie turkish kebab
I love all the cozy dark on dark, brown earthiness of the living room, it feels relaxed, and unpretentious. also its pleasing to see how pleased you are by the different seating outside; Piage is stoked, and i am stoked for Paige!
I really like the brown rug! It grounds the space but in a more refined/elegant/neutral way. Very exxxcited for your upcoming table linens launch, hoping to snag at least one apron, if not both :)
Paige that English ivy is impossible to kill or get rid off. If you want more space, hire an electric hedge trimmer and cut it back flush to the fence. It will look like crap for a couple of months but will come back so quickly, especially with a bit of water, and if you trim it back a bit once or twice a year you can keep it green and closer to the fence. I hate the stuff - once you have it you can never get rid of it, and the mosquitoes and European wasps love it to hide and breed in, but when it is the only source of green you have it is worth spending a bit of time to get it under control before it eventually pulls down your fence and takes over your entire yard.
The table looks pretty. Ditch the slate patio, it super expensive and time consuming to get right. In the vine wall, im seeing faux animals on perches scattered throughout ❤
Switching the sofas was 100 % the right move, I always thought that !!! :) and I still wonder how the liquor cabinet would look on the other wall where the framed artwork ist currently? New rug also a very good choice even though the orange one was very fun :)
Love the table, you could make some custom outdoor pillows for the bench when needed? Also could style it with a nice watering can, will help remind you to water more too :)
Pavers require some sand you have to add underneath to make sure it’s level. You might have to remove the stones that are there currently. It’s kinda involved as a diy and overpriced from a landscaper. I think if your new table is not too bothersome to get in and out of you should just keep the backyard as is.
Paige, that rose in your back garden needs to be repotted into a much bigger and deeper pot. Rose roots are big, plus with a bigger pot it’ll have more moisture and need less frequent watering. Also it needs rose feed. It should not mind the sun, only if the flowers are dark in colour, they might get sun scorched. Otherwise roses love full sun, as long as they have enough water. The succulent is leggy because it doesn’t have enough sun.
Wow. Seeing the "Bierbankgarnitur" in your space gives them a whole new context. To me they are if not the most bourgeois thing. Maybe I should rethink that :D Greetings from Germany! (make sure to not fall from the end of the bank if someone is getting up ^^)
They are not bourgeois at all. Simply peasant. Pöbel. Einfaches Fußvolk. Zudem völlig unbequem. Würde nie auf die Idee kommen, so ein Klapperding freiwillig zu kaufen für's "Dorffest-Feeling" =D
I actually can’t believe that they’re selling the Biergarten table and chairs for that much money. Here in Germany it’s around 100 bucks (chairs and table) or second hand for way less.
I had a dark rug in my living room for 3 days before I realise, that everything that crumb, hair, dust that falls onto it can be seen immediately! And I have kids. So off it went into a less traffic room. Curious to know if you encounter that too! Love how it looks now though.
I like how open it looks with the furniture pulled outside around the rug. We got rid of our coffee table years ago since the kids love using the space to play on the floor.
everything looks perfect, paige! for your bench and tables outside get a wide painting brush to brush off the leaves from table :) add a lil hook somewhere that you can just hang it up!
Some people need back support so maybe lose one bench and use the chairs for one side of the table? Or keep the chairs for the rare occasion when you have some older people over? Pavers would look great!
You're one my favorite "tubers" by far. No put on phoney stuff and editing the supposed "mistakes". Your bed too, simple and classic, not tricked out with karate chopped pillows, yucko!
That’s funny, my grandpa in France has like 10 of those tables in his garage and we use them in the summer. He has always gotten them for free. I don’t know if it’s still true but in the 80s they were used a lot in summer camps.
I like the new rug. We have the same wood floors. I have a 1940 house in NY with the exact floors. Love your bed not the night stands. Love your taste in fabric. Your taste is evolving. ❤
I want to purchase new outdoor furniture for my screened in porch and I’d love to see a video from you on decorating outdoor spaces. I’m lost because there’s a wide range of things I could buy made of different materials and it’s overwhelming.
It's kind of sweet how you talk about the benches because in Europe they are so well-known and classic beer benches in bars, cafés and beer gardens... don't get me wrong, I love the style, I even have some of them myself on my balcony and i like this cultural approach, it creates an environment an atmosphere where you instantly feel social and comfortable :)
The look of the gravel is good -- French estate/beer garden-ey. Switching to dark concrete tiles might make it a less inviting space. If you can find lighter tile you could add stability and not make it dark...the nighttime vibes are v good.
Good call with the bench seating outside! Chairs on gravel would be insanely annoying. Congrats on the sponsorship! That bedding looks devine. I just wish you could sort out lighting in those filming moments. There is so much shadow, it's tough to see. And i wanna see! 😂 ❤
I really like the table and benches- good call- but not a big fan of the solid colored brown rug. Maybe consider a muted color persian- esq? Yes, go for the stone or cement in backyard. Do you plan to sand and varnish the table eventually?
The rug change makes such a big difference...I feel like my eye knows how to travel throughout the room. I also feel like the coffee table/ottoman looks better now that it's not such a "black hole" in the middle of all the color.
I have very helpful, easy advice on your rosebush in that pot outside. our rose isn't in too much light. They can take full sun all day. They just need time to adjust and a lot of water while they recover from stress. They have to slowly adjust to changing light conditions and will stress if the changes are sudden. Along with an increase of water, get some organic worm castings and add a layer about three inches deep around the bush. This will give it new nutrients (roses are heavy feeders) and will help the bush survive a month without water. Make sure you deep water it every evening until you leave (giving it a day to dry out every few days) and one deep soak the day before you leave. I promise it's not a lot of work and it will give you HUGE rewards. Just getting a bag of worm castings and some days of heavy watering in the evening or night will do wonders. I am obsessed with roses.
What if you just use one bench on the back side and the pretty chairs on the other side or ends. I could see chairs being nicer to turn sideways or whatever where there is more room.
The table and benches are great! Way more functional and also look great. The other table is always nice to have for things. I’ve never thought to have a dedicated outside candle, that’s a fun thing. I think the living room needs some more color like red or green. Also design wise I think it would look better with a hard surface coffee table, but I also understand the functionality of padded and needing that versatility, so whatever best suits you
Love the new rug! I liked it before but I agree that the orange wasn't totally right with the couch fabric. Maybe it just gave it too much of a 60s/ 70s vibe? Regardless, looks sooo good in there!
Happy happy birthday party, the new chocolate rug is so inviting and brings all your sofas together, super cosy and zesty. Good times in Chi await!👍🏼💃🏽
Be careful not to sit on the end of the benches. I’ve seen many people at our local beer garden nearly topple over if they sit too far to the edge of an empty bench. Looks great though.
For a second there, it looked like you were going to do a gymnastics floor routine! 😂 I’ve long wanted a beer garden table! They really are cool. Love the new house updates and really dig the fabric selections on the WAS napkins and coasters.
Love the updated rug. Now I want to see what you will do with the fireplace. That white brick really stands out. Maybe an insert or decorative brass grate, darker paint color, plants (oops, never mind that one) or some type of ambient lighting?
You should be able to get the gravel level with a rake or a broom. It's a small size and moveable. If you can't, then paving stones won't work. The surface has to be level, or at least a continuous smooth surface even if it's slanted.
Brown rug looks alot better! Loving the beer table. If I were you I'd eliminate the Ivy completely, because thats a place where rats like to live. I'm in the Seattle area and we've found that rat's like to hang in ivy.
