Thank you sir, your videos have been a life saver! I've been hearing so much lately that you can't use a USB mic to do anything. Your videos have helped show me that's not true.

You are the first voice acting coach I've ever known to advise using a USB mic.

Oberon Pan early USB mics were cheap and sounded terrible. Over the years they've improved and many can compete with analog mics. Here's my video discussing USB mics: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v5pLly8m-nA.html

Real voice talent? You MUST listen to the best classic radio dramas and voice actors. Episodes of "Suspense" are all over you tube. Look for episodes featuring these actors: AGNES MOOREHEAD, JOSEPH COTTEN, ORSON WELLES, and HERBERT MARSHALL . . . Probably the best of all is Agnes Moorehead. She's in 30+ episodes (well known for "Sorry, wrong number") After you hear this lady, especially portraying women in distress, you'll understand what voice acting is all about!

Hi! Thanks for all your tips. Its very instructive. I have a few questions if you don't mine. I'm not sure which microphone i should use for a top notch audio quality for my type of voice and my working needs. I'm on a personal project. Its about reading a novel and recording it on good audio gears for people who have visual problems. I have a good sounding radiophonic voice. slithly (or fairly) deeper than average tone. I am interested in 2 microphones : - 1) Electro-Voice Re20 - 2) Shure SM7(b?) In some occasion i know i might need a flat recording of my voice. But i also know that in some other occasions, compression, loudness boost and effects (to sound more FM like) could be needed. I was wondering which of those mics is best for my voice-over audiobook project but also for a more FM radio sounding for further works such as narrative over videos. And how about the external sound card? I heard about the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 and wonder if its good enough or too much for my needs? I wont use my mic for music instruments neither a second microphone. I just need to record my talking voice for a good sounding. I also wonder if i need other gears to process the recorded work (like pre-amp, e.q. compressor, effects, etc) Is it already build in the Scarlett Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 or uin any other model / brand would suits better my needs? I plan to use Wavelab 6 or 7. Thanks!

Finally got to hear the info you sent about the home studio. It was great. One last question. Where is the best place to buy this stuff? Thank you

One question. I know that a condensor mic is more sensitive to background noise than a dynamic and I can see that you aren't just recording your videos in a kitchen. Do you have any suggestions on either the qualities a room should have to avoid audio distortion or a way to somehow inexpensively pad the room to avoid picking up the additional unwanted noise?
