Thank you so much. I am from Ukraine. Your work helps to understand the surrounding nature better , to recognise so many things I see here, in Greater Manchester. Everything is new for me here and at the same time so close to my native land. Well done. From Ukraine with love.
This is such an enjoyable video to watch. Your dialogue is so natural and calming. I’ve given up on tv and these are the type of films I’m comfortable watching. Thank you for all the effort you put into you work. Aussie follower.
It makes all the difference having hundred percent of it with the animals rather than the television and some RU-vid channels with only 10% animals 90% an overenthusiastic presenter being rammed down your throat does get tiresome.
@@BirdBath1 DEAR SIR WHERE CAN I WATCH YOUR FILMS SUMMER IN THE MEADOW AND RETURN TO THE RIVER AND BIRD BATH. I VERY MUCH ADMIRE YOU FILMS. I LIKE RELISH THE BEAUTIES OF ENGLISH WILDLIFE. I LIVE IN INDIA. I AM LOVER OF NATURE.PARTCULARLY BRITISH WILDLIFE. I HAVE SEEN MANY VIDEOS OFF BBC AND OTHERS. YOU STAND UNIQUE AS A PROFESSIONAL FILMMAKER IN YOUR UNIQUE WAY. PLEASE DO REPLY. THANKS.
I am so sorry, I only just discovered your question now. Hopefully by now you have found my other two films to enjoy on my channel: ru-vid.com/group/PLVQf5iO8XVzpbZwdYAiv3qUpEBLtADO04 (I have no connection with the channel BirdBath).
Stephen de Vera is one of those wonderful surprises which occasionally turn up on RU-vid. Considering that he has made these professional quality videos without any assistance from a huge supporting camera, sound expert and a myriad of technical assistance which accompany countryside and wildlife videos seen on mainstream media, he must have had a lot of patience and put in a lot of. Hard work of his own, to make such fascinating and fascinating and detailed documentaries. I look forward to more of them.
It was a lot of work for sure and for little financial gain but the reward is in the satisfaction of doing something I feel needs reiterating: if mankind is ever going to end it's war on the environment the solution starts at home and not in watching glossy big budget documentaries filmed in faraway locations. Thank you for your feedback.
@@WildlifeInCloseUpI totally agree with what you've said, and with the compliments on your beautiful work. I'm from Pennsylvania, US, and love to photograph local flora and fauna, which rarely get their own documentaries. I truly appreciate videos like this from a professional who also understands the beauty and importance of their hometown wildlife. Your focus on the quieter parts of the animals' lives is a refreshing change as well! Thank you!
This is truly a nature film not those setup shots from BBC. This is how real life is! Marvelous from one filmmaker to another. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing the other films in the series. Thanks for releasing this one. In our time with covid lockdowns this is a God send to soak up the beauty.
Stunning! Thank you! I have sometimes thought about the relative merits of wildlife here and in other countries. I spent the early 25 years of my life in the Peak District and was fortunate to have many acres of land to explore. The variety of incredible wildlife there - and further afield in the hidden valleys and dales that tourists don't find - was exceptional. The silent flight of the barn owl at dusk for me matches any gaudy parrot screeching in a jungle; the joy of spying on the fox about his prowl beats any lion on the savannah. And the sight of two hares boxing is for me equal to any kangaroos doing the same! I would venture to suggest that your film proves these points admirably! I wish I had been able to film some of the amazing things I saw in those days...
Heartwarming for me to hear when people really 'get' what I am trying to do and you put it so beautifully, thank you. 2 more similar films are on the way so please subscribe, if you haven't already, to get notified.
Magical, you're gifted to get these shots! I live off grid in Brittany and am constantly out and about and can count on one hand some exceptional encounters. I've been sitting in a hedge with a fox half a metre next to me grubbing his ears moved when I swallowed, it was late evening but not yet dusk. I returned the next evening with a friend to enable me to endorse this encounter, the fox returned along the hedgerow and slowly passed in front of us within a metre. Like the first night we were just sitting in the hedge no growth in front of us. I'm also lucky enough to have a kingfisher nest in the bank on the stream 30m from my dwelling and for three years now I've watched them coming and going. They have been here for a couple of weeks now so hopefully the fourth year for me to catch daily sightings of them. I also believe they have accepted my presence. Ideal for filming!!!
What a Wonderful wildlife camera/film maker you are!!!! Such patience and dedication. Your voice is so soothing i could watch and listen for hours. Thank you once again! Can't wait for the next video😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you for this, the bird song is so sweet. I could listen all day long. Lovely wild life, living in South Africa I appreciate seeing more gentle wild animals.
Wow, what an amazing video and narration, absolutely loved every second of this, especially when the male muntjac spotted you and reacted how he did, also the gossamer and feathers nest would be my dream bed. Liked and shared.
Or, infernal, SIN soaked ugliness, that expects wildlife to drink and eat ones sewer, litteraly speaking so, and expects them to live in a highest level of visually degraded country side, considering, what it ones was and what to a fox, a bird and to British wildlife it always going to be. If anyone doesn't see that, only goes to show people's intellectual and moral inferiority.
This is awesome. I told my sister in-law who teaches fifth grade about it. After seeing it she hopes to be able to show it to her school. What a wonderful piece of luck! I thought back to when I was 8 and just moved to a suburban neighborhood full of similar such wonders, and then later on when I owned a bit of land filled with diverse animals, as it had been vacant about 15 yrs before I got it at auction.
Glad it was helpful. I will be uploading a version without the voiceover (plus more, similar films) that might be of particular use to teachers maybe. Always love it when children watch!
Thanks for this came up recommended im so glad i watched . I couldn't stop watching it tbh. the shots of the wildlife were wonderful and the commentary was perfect no load music ruining the bird songs and nice switch of topics very interesting .
Congratulations Srephen and your filming crew for this documentary.. I live in Kenya and did not know that there is so much wildlife in Britain.. As a documentary film maker too, I really appreciate the long hours.,the patience you had to endure and all the turns in nature and weather to bring to life such a wonderful film, where to a common person it will appear so effortlessly and smoothly flows. I love the up and close shots, the songs of the birds... And your voice full of passion for the magical life... God bless you Sir.. Many regards from Kenya 🇰🇪
I've filmed in Kenya a few times for nature documentaries - you live in a really amazing place, so It's great to hear your comments. Thank you. (The 'crew' is just me!)
Hello from Russia!)) How fine and amusing to watch familiar species and compare their russian and english names. I find your narration and accent very understandable and nice. Thanks for this video.
Hi Stephen, the full length video has been simply adorable to watch. How you got such wonderful shots is amazing. The barn owl hunting was fantastic. I’m not too keen on snakes but the filming was superb. Wildlife is simply wonderful. Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for this lovely reminder of the natural richness still available (just) in our British countryside. Over my 70+ years Ive been lucky enough to have seen all of the species you featured, other than the muntjac. But how much more scarce many of them have become! I was reminded of this hearing the yellowhammer in the soundtrack - I have never seen one in the six years I have lived and explored in Cornwall. Your sensitivity to the wild creatures and acute observations make this very special - as though one were almost having these intimate experiences oneself. So often such encounters are happenstance, but all the more precious for that.
I don't see yellowhammers nearly as much now, compared to when I made this film but they do still pop up in a few places - the last one I saw in the Hebrides. There was a short BBC nature series years ago called "Being There" which was at the back of mind while making this. Thanks for commenting.
I’ve returned to Mr. de Vere’s beautifully films THROUGH THE GARDEN GATE and RETURN TO THE RIVER many times over the last few years. They create such a serene space to immerse oneself in. Thank you!
Stumbled over this by happy accident, a gorgeous piece! I was born and raised in Australia but my heritage is English, I'm hoping to settle there soon. Thank you so much for sharing this peaceful film of my very favourite place. ❤
Hi Stephen, once again I'm blessed to be in the beautiful woodlands, witnessing the amazing abundance of wildlife going about their lives. It's such an immense privilege, and I'm deeply grateful for your skills and diligence. It's the home of my forebears. Some of your wildlife was introduced to New Zealand. I particularly enjoy the Blackbird and Thrush for their supreme songs. Thank you so much for the Joy you bring. Anne Coplestone. N.Z.
Stunning nature video Stephen. You could have made 20 vids out of that 😄 I heard a Blackcap this morning, funnily enough! I didn't recognise the song and the Merlin app told me that it was a Blackcap. Tx for sharing. New friend in The New Forest. 😄 Best wishes, Rob
I have been so enjoying these incredible videos! Just discovered them yesterday after being stuck inside with constant downpours, wanting desperately to be outside like you! Overwhelmed by the barn owl babies you were able to get so close to! Congratulations! What a feat! Ty for your talent time and effort. This New England native presently of NH is very grateful and more than refreshed! I grew up on 15 acres of land in Massachusetts and miss it daily! Blessings on your continued success with these marvelous movies for the public.. Namaste! 🦊🌿🐇🌱🐸🌾🐐🍃🪺🦆✨
The barn owls were fun to work with. The attic where they were nesting was very hot - an old house with no insulation - but it was so worth it, especially to get such nice comments and feedback as yours!
@@WildlifeInCloseUp So excited to hear back from you..😌 Ty for taking the time.. I cannot imagine how hot that attic must have been.. Have experienced overheated attics myself.. But never filming baby owls..snicker🤭 I always look for anything you've put out and look forward to.even more in the future..🤞 Have a lovely evening..🦉✨🌌💫
Amazing Documentary, Possible The Most Inspiring Documentary I've Seen, Very Helpful And Informative. Beautifully Crafted With The Ability To Bring You Into A Wonderful Experience Of The Natural World. Many Thanks For Sharing Your Knowledge And Craft.
I've just discovered you and subscribed. This was a wonderful hour of relaxing with you in nature. I understand it is alot of work and you aren't just sitting back and letting the cameras do all the work. Big thanks to you and your team and helping neighbors for this video from Costa Rica.
So nice to hear from so far away. I visited Costa Rica once many years ago filming for the BBC series 'The Life of Birds' - beautiful rainforest there.
I just love your films of al the birds and animals just around the countryside, and I especialy love your comments and the true sounds of nature without any horrible backgroundmusic. Thank You so much.
Breathtakingly beautiful!! Living on the Essex/Suffolk border, I think there's nowhere quite like our stunning countryside and, my goodness, do you prove that point here. Subscribed in an instant!!
I was so sad when I saw this off of amazon, Ive watched your films on there over and over, they are so relaxing and always help me sleep and relive anxiety. So happy to see it on here for free. Thank you for all your amazing films
Fantastic piece of film it was so relaxing to watch I've just started birdwatching and I am a gardener at a hall in Norfolk and the wooded area is a gem of wildlife mud jack buzzards grey wagtail it's so soothing You camera work is unbelievable must have taken a long time we must hold to our greenery as its something to wonder Thanku
You did a great job! thank you so much for sharing this wonderful film. The hares reminded me of when I was a child, how our little dog ran into a field with a few hares, running rounds, and she just got in the ring and ran with them! and we had hoped to make some hare stew!
That was one of the most, if not The most enjoyable nature films I have ever seen. The filming was beautiful, and there’s a special fondness for our own countryside and our own animals. The narration from the point of view of the photographer was so interesting and the whole thing was totally charming and a beautiful quiet joy to watch. Thank you so very much.
Hi I just found your wildlife on u tube thanks so much they are beautiful and no loud music either just birds bees wildlife absolutely right up my street thanks so much
