it's nice when mellow double-bass gets the loudness it deserves, and that kick matches it perfectly. man it was 14 years ago that homeboy posted something on my youtube page, encouraging me to keep representing hip hop with a fervence and I was so proud of it but just noticed it vanished with the new style of community page. anyways that was after just hearing lightning bolt, lightning rod and if you listen carefully to this, you can hear similarities to that.
