G day Scott I reckon for the turtle back , bending ply is the go. Specially made ply for this application. Lay some builders black 0:34 plastic over timber frame Cut 2 slightly oversized pieces of bending ply Place first sheet of ply onto frame with top face covered in light coat of epoxy glue Place second sheet on top Throw several ratchet straps over the whole shebang and under steel frame Carefully tighten straps to make plywood conform to framing Leave overnight Upon releasing straps you will have very strong section that you can epoxy glue to stringers and will not be under stress. Make slightly oversized and trim for best fit Fancy semicircle arcs to be cut after lamination is set Bending ply available from specialist timber suppliers Also seek out ENGINEERING PATTERNMAKERS SUPPLIERS or Engineering patternmakers for timber and advice Keep vids comin I like em

Have you heard of bendy ply? Fantastic solution for forming around frames.

Me again I don’t want to give you a bum steer. By laminating the two sheets together which when dried will or perfect fit ,this assembly can be removed and replaced easily until final fitment and glued to longitudinal stringers. If you go this way use a couple of small panel pins (nails) one at each end of the section fore and aft into the very top stringer , only need to be driven 5mm into top stringer These 1mm diamanté nails are merely locating dowels so curved panel can be removed and replaced to exactly same position. You could simply cut one sheet of bending ply with fancy arcs and glue to stringers if that is the way you want to go. Also while I am at it , you were on the right track putting a fillet of adhesive where longitudinal stringers pass thru bulkheads but liquid nails is bodgey Epoxy glue mixed with micro balloons or equivalent will give premium results large diameter fillet Look up west systems epoxy , perhaps contact sailing dinghy boatbuilder they will give you the good oil. G'day, I love what you're doing with the Control-Cables...; 3 Gold Stars and a Koala Stamp ! That sure is a LOVELY Laminated Airscrew for a 21st-Century Radial-engined Camel... On this teeny tiny "Point", I may Squeak with a Bee's Dick's width worth of "Authority"...; For my 1st 3-ft carved from a single Block Propeller was in 1974, at 13, in the Public High School Woodwork Shop - when in the 6 months between Boarding-Skools. The Woodwork Master spotted a giant version of an Aeromuddler's Balsa Propeller in Radiata Pine (attempted) Propeller being carved from a single Beam, and so he showed up at my place on a Saturday morning, to get my father's permission to lend me a Book with a Chapter explaining Helical Pitch Calculations for Airscrews, and Lamination techniques... (Dad was well known locally to be Anti -Aviation..., after his best friend's son {CFI at the Glen Innes Aero Club...} died in his DH Chipmunk at Moree, In about 1960, slightly before I was born !). So..., I began Propeller-carving in 1974, at 13. Because in the 1980s there were ambiguous Laws against Ultralights, I retreated into Electric Windmills, using Automotive Alternators....; and if you look in my "Windmilling Warbles" Playlist, There are Video copied Silent Super-8 movies from 1985/ '86 of my "Skypower Mk-5" 500 Watt Wind Turbine... And later, in 1992, I flew Behind two different Hand-carved, laminated Tasmanian Oak Propellers which I Designed & made for the 22 Hp JPX Pul-425 French "Aero Engine with which my Second Hairygoplane was fitted.... So, having both charged a Battery with my own Wind-Turbine Rotors, and also flown behind my own Propellers...; I recom I can claim Competence To assert that... That, there..., Is a Lucking fovely functional Sculpture..., Of a Laminated Wooden Airscrew... Of course, it's 14 inches too small, Diameter-wise, To be Hysterically "Accurate"... But..., That often Happens...; Whenever a "High-Speed Radial" Aero Engine Replaces a Period-Correct Rotary Engine, in a Replica... For the Fun of it... Today I ticked-off on a Talaria Sting (L-1e). A 60 Volt Road Registerable Electric Motorbike. It features a 6,000 Watt Motor (Regulated to 3,500 W., for 45 Km/Hr Max, to meet Roadworthiness Regulations.) The Motor is 92% Efficient, with a 2,500 W/Hr Battery. The Motor, Input multiplied by 0.92, then multiplied by a 8.35 : 1 Reduction Drive, for 36 Hp worth of Torque at the back Wheel... Unregulated, it delivers 60 Hp for 20 Minutes. Regulated, it delivers 45 Km/Hr at max. speed, Or 70 Km @ 40 Km/Hr... Since 1992 I've restrained myself from Rebuilding my Aeroplane. Because the World doesn't Need Me to be Farting Fossil-Carbon Fumes, To go making Lawnmower Noises in the Sky While excercising my Biggles Fantasies... So At $3,600 for a spare Talaria Sting Motor, Battery, Speed-Controller & Chain-Drive... The real Pissabolity Exists...; Of Warbles-eKnevil Growing Electrick Wyngs...?
