Oh my god, K'thriss doing that Cthulhu-esque raving on the outside while essentially coaxing a kitten into the room internally was the funniest thing I have seen all year. Ryan's added flavor of him crying blood was icing on the cake.
I know! His description of a great entity probing at the edge of his perception was just a beautiful description of it as well. A great combination of the naivete of K'thris and the actual dark horror of Great Old Ones.

She heard, last call, having a ball absolutely needing the monk's slow fall. Kicking it with Whelver, after a few shots cause she looking for dat dungeon delver. Endeavoring, to keep the kids safe with the staff swing. Grandmother power above no other, to shower another. Rain of blows its a flurry, rosey beestinger unleashing the fury. Trying to teach that emo Driebus a lesson, that's a blessing no one will forget. Legit, it's a critical hit with the stunning fist cause she pissed. Get a job, you slob looking like a troll kin, and acting like a Holkins. This is just embarrassing, don't make me cuss. Jerry you just can't hold a candle to one Patrick Rothfuss.
Duuuuude it'd be the sickest shit ever if K'thriss adapted a persona where he by default chose to see through the eyes of his familiar. Just imagine the Drow with the glazed over eyes and the ruby serpent. He could be a faux blind master, imagine the possibilities. Equally awesome, the period of time when he's still getting used to living in third person where he fucks everything up
First time I played D&D I asked if I could give someone who was unconscious a health potion he say yes someone else argued that they would drowned so my DM says "it's a suppository" and we have played it that way for years now lol
What I wonder is: K'thriss definitely saw Auspicia's corpse at the main HQ during the last live episode, and he is not confused at all by Propha saying that Auspicia never came back from the crypt? (Haven't watched the entire episode yet.)
Now I don't know everything about the D&D pantheon, but when Omin Dran mentioned MAH GIRL TYMORA, The Goddess of luck that looked over my bard, I couldn't help but smile.
Such a fantastic episode! Lots of great character moments (not nearly enough Donnar this time though), good world building stuff, some combat and adventure. Keep it up "C" Team! Not sure which part I want to see animated by Zee more... Either the Chicken Spigot, or K'thriss trying to sweetly coax the tentacular spectacular into pincushioning the slime.
Please don't take it the wrong way but I REALLY wish that these players could squeeze more adventure out of each episode... I know they're having fun, but I want it to be more substantial. This is especially because we have the one and only Jerry Holkins as the DM, and he's so gracious and permissive of the players but .... you gotta take advantage of the amount of lore you KNOW this guy has in store.
I'm not sure if they're just table ruling it that it's a thing that happens - and I hate that I'm geeking out over it - Flurry of Blows don't work like that. It would be broke as fuck if it did. Way to be C-Team though. My favorite of the Acq Inc. Teams :D
I was wondering if someone could create a fan art of the Homeward Star Constellation. I'm trying to enter that as one of the constellations in my home game.
I've noticed Kate doesn't roll any attacks when she does Flurry, just straight damage... I hope this stops happening soon. Edit: and 20 seconds later, Pat comes in with the save!
*A wild evil rules goblin appears* Rosie did not roll for her unarmed strikes and K'Thriss imposed disadvantage with his hex on con ability checks (like athletics), not con saves.
Skwisgar2322 yeah I was waiting for one of them to say it but no one ever did. I think Rosie said "Cluckster Fuck" at one point but it was a tiny bit later.
Me too, each of the attacks in Flurry of Blows must be rolled to hit, they don't automatically hit. Maybe they house ruled this but a monk doesn't just get to double punch things because she hit with a quarterstaff.
Hex confers disadvantage to enemy ability checks, not saving throws. Ability checks =/= saving throws, they are different things. It's significantly less useful, but that's how it works.
Oh man and isn't that a pain in the ass? Every gorramn time that trips everyone up. That was one thing I did like better in 4e: Con, Ref and Will saves. Really made that kind of thing more clear.
The most obvious use I could think in combat is escaping from grapples, another could be an enemy that uses Intimidate a lot for some reason. Perception is a good one if you're using it to detect someone invisible, maybe (or conversely, making an invisible enemy's Stealth suck). Also, Hex damage only applies to attacks (whenever you roll a d20 to hit)... Oh, BTW he casted two non-cantrips in a single round :P
You're all correct according to the rules. However, given flavor, hex should work in this situation and warlock should have an invocation that allows it to cast hex like a cantrip. But either way it for sure should affect saving throws and ability checks (both) and it is silly if it only affects one. but if it only affected one, savings throws would make way more sense.
....pausing at 20:42....what does she mean it seams like I am reliving someones memories? the last master has it with three stripes....you currently have it with three stripes. this isn't memory this is happening! those are ghost m,asters and you gonna wake up to find a fourth stripe with the name beestinger!
When he first started describing it I was thinking it was re-living the memory as well but once he described each of them with a different version of the staff it made sense. I guess she just hadn't caught that yet.
