I love how Homelander's entrance theme sounds like he's there to save the day but the evil twisted touch to his theme shows that he's actually not there to do any good.
It’s perfect. I can’t really tell if he has a single particular theme but every time I hear something like it with him in the scenes it’s horrifying. I remember when he tells starlight he can do whatever he wants with that bell in the background it’s just so twisted.
@@Jehovahs_Thickness nah i think that theme has been used for him in season one actually but now we know the real him, the theme reflects what he truly is. a monster pretending to be a hero
@@goromajima156 Sir Homelander, many people probably asking this already but can you help Israel defend their home from those animals and savages? You are a true hero and peace keeper..
totally agree. he stole the show. literally the best acting we've seen in all of gen v. his behaviour and facial expressions were exactly how they were in S3
I love how Homelander doesn't seem to care by now, like he yells "Stay back" so empty sounding like she is the villain so it gives him a reason to laser her in front of everyone.
Anthony Starr was born to play Homelander, honestly I can't imagine anyone else to portray Homelander better than he does. Even without saying a single word his facial expressions say a lot, that's outstanding
I love how Homelander chastising Marie for harming her own kind is similar to when he did the same to A-Train for killing Blue Hawk, of course he's a huge hypocrite as he's harmed AND killed many more supes but it really does show how radicalized he's become after the events of Season 3.
I feel like he says that, because he holds a genuine sort of wrath on how his kind are being controlled by "normal" people, yet he doesn't take on account that he is just ten times worse
Deafened Blindspot (and probably killed him), Snapped Doppleganger’s neck, stepped on Termite, and gut-punched Noir. And end of S3, he asks A-Train “how could you kill one of your own?” after A-Train killed Bluehawk while A-Train looked at Noir’s helmet
Marie did a culmination of everything she has learned over the season. 1. She sensed Maverick's blood to see him. 2. She sped up someone's heart to help Jordan. 3. She made blood knives to kill the sup headed for the helicopter. 4. She exploded a body part (Cate's arm) to stop Cate from touching Jordan.
Theres no doubt these shows are better than the superhero hate porn comics. There is actual depth to these characters instead of "British punisher kills DC and Marvel"
i always said name me one person that likes original boys, and this must be it champ. i've no idea how somebody likes a hate porn comic series against the best comic genre there is.
I love how this minute long interaction shows almost exactly what Homelanders current mental state is. In season 1 and 2 he wouldn’t even dream of hurting someone, let alone a supe in public. Now that he’s been unmasked and even more beloved, he feels untouchable and doesn’t care who tf he hurts.
@@nelsonpcarrnope, he never did. In The Boys is clearly shown that Homelander was always shown in the best light possible, killing criminals or innocent people outside of camera, but Vougue or himself would always have a justification of why the criminals never make It out alive, or Homelander always being the hero
@robertobrosful amusingly, he still acting up that part to at l3ast pretend he's good in some way, with a very overactive stance and weak "stand back" to give plausible deniability
God, you can just FEEL the atmosphere going from zero to a hundred the minute Homelander showed up. The tension was extremely high. Hell, my heartbeat started beating fast and I wasn't even there
He does only care about himself. He’s setting up a ‘supe army’ by taking the supe-supremacist stance in this scene. He will need his supe army if he loses the upcoming trial, it’s all just a contingency plan
DUDE Antony Starr man idk who would play Homelander as good as him he makes this character make you feel so uneasy! Can't wait for Season 4 of the boys to figure out how this all ties in!
agreed. Like his performance....is fuckin crazy yo. In fact his total Homelander's screentime didnt even exceed 3hr in total through out the entire 3 seasons said it all. THIS MAN IS INSANELY GOOD IN ACTING as HOMELANDER
According to the director it was initially just supposed to be a shot of him watching the newscast afterward on tv but they added in the scenes where he makes his appearance on campus. According to the director Antony Starr filmed this cameo on a day off from shooting The Boys. No extra pay. Just volunteered his time. Wow.
The homelander cameo was prefect he despises human too ,and would definitely have the new recruits align with his hatred not surprised the cliffhanger would be the two psychopaths coming out on top.
well said. He never grouped himself with supes. He once said, hes the only god in the sky. The rest are nothing but mongrels to his eyes. @@user-mc3if9xs7w
I think the reason Homelander didn't kill Marie, Jordan, Andre, and Emma is either because Sam and Kate asked him to spare them. Or, even though he is angry, he didn't want to kill his own kind and instead hopes to "rehabilitate" them so they can join his side.
Homelander is so freakin intimidating. The facial expressions and the gestures... Anthony Starr deserves every trophy in the world for his performance.
Season 2 is already confirmed and her character arc isn't complete obviously they weren't gonna do that And the boys universe doesn't take as many risks as you think they haven't killed one main character in 3 seasons I thought Maeve was gonna die but they brought her back at the end
@@JaySewaniThey should’ve kept Maeve dead. Because according to VoughtHQ not only is she not coming back to show, the actress isn’t planning on ever acting again.
Did you miss last season? They nerfed Homelander for no reason, Maeve should have died and NEVER made him bleed (he is possibly deaf now?). Don't feel scared of him anymore because of scenes like this.
@@homem-pobre Homelander went easy on Maeve, he didn't want to kill her.. It seems like the ears and eyes are super soft spots for supes. Like Becca drove a knife into Stormfronts eye.
How did Marie survive ? - Homelander can control his laser beams like when he heated up the milk in S2 -Why did he target Marie? She’s number 1 in rankings therefore next to be in the 7 - he wants that to be Luke and Cait because they share his agenda -where are they now? Vaught tower most likely.
I love how Antony Star was actually terrified doing this stunt. Also I like the fact that Homelander lasered her for the show to make out that he “killed them” but he actually kept them alive because that would be hypocritical for him to turn against a supe after what he said
@@sunsetman22Yeah, Cate has Xavier’s power to read minds but has Magneto’s “mutants are superior to humans” mindset while Andre has Magneto’s power to control metal but has Xavier’s mindset to help both humans and mutants.
@@Deathpool_04Andre isn’t really deep like that tho 😅 that would be either Emma or Marie. Before Luke died and the woods stuff happened both Andre and Jordan were typical highschool popular kids who cared only about doing what they want (remember how Andre killed a woman in their night out and they forgot about it the next day leaving Marie the blame ?)
The way he yells "STAY BACK!" as an excuse to laser her in front of everyone reminds me of those two south park hunters that yell "IT'S COMING RIGHT FOR US" so they can get away with killing endangered species XD
I feel like Season 3 just proved how strong Homelander is, it took a whole group project + nuclear weapon twice to even stand a chance against him and they failed twice, but I get what you mean you can tell he's more unhinged now than he was before
@@user-gv1me3mw3l He absolutely would have died in Vought tower in S3E8 if Butcher didn’t care about Ryan. It was three extremely powerful supes against him, with Ryan being somewhat weak 99% of the time. Soldier Boy + Butcher + Maeve easily kills him.
Ashlee is literally a genius and done way better blame game than tek knight did 😂...she called marie to stop cate and sam..also called homelander and blamed marie for attack supes..she knows it would anger homelander and she get to keep her head again LMAO...if homelander finds out ashlee couldn’t control the situation...he would've smacked all those corporate shills😂 I don’t think the homelander knows about the woods and what indira was doing...so ashlee definitely pinned marie for this
@@ItzUsman7 I mean he could take another shot, also Idt he will die soon, coz the doc told him that he had another 2 years to live if I remember correctly. Also is s4 the last season?
I believe that Butcher will die at the hand of Homelander but when he kills him he does it up close...like a punch through his stomach or something of the sorts. When its all said and done, Butcher looks at Homelander with a painful expression but starts to grin maniaclly at Homelander. Butcher keeps smiling at him an then he tells him that he better put on the tea kettle, 'cause it looks like he'll catch a "cold". This is where we found out that Butcher had ingested the supes virus before having a battle with Homelander.
As great as it would be for a finale , you gotta remember that if Butcher dies taking HL with him then Ryan will just become the next big menace 😂 with no one to stop him
It’s the little nuances Anthony Starr does in his acting, like the exaggerated exhale and the raising of the eyebrows before he shoots his lasers that make him such a great actor.
Such a great spinoff. It doesn’t bring too much of the boys with it so the cameos feel that much more special. Like Better Call Saul, this show does it’s predecessor justice
@@Avery-pj4ib uh okay the whole thing with Jordan shapeshifting into a dude didn’t make sense for me just say I’m a lesbian and I like girls why force yourself into being a dude it just doesn’t make sense Marie trying to be a hero literally makes no sense shorty literally killed her parents how does that justify for saving people. the golden boy/ cate relationship felt like I was watching euphoria but aye that’s my opinion
This scene is hilarious without context cause Homelander flies in feeling threatening and menacing as hell, while irl, Anthony Star was shitting his pants from the landing scene. Bet Homelander was walking with some cheeks clenched after that landing
I was hoping something like this would happen in gen v where Homelander shows up and attacks the main hero but i really didn't think it would. So happy with it did😂
I still can’t believe Sam became a villain fate also Because I really don’t want them to die. I want them to be reformed and to live their lives finally normally without trouble from Vought or any other people.
I just figured out the plan here so the reason they were blamed for the attack is that they know everything about the woods and once they stopped cate and sam, marie and everyone else were going expose the school, vaught included. I almost forgot to mention Victoria also knows about it so she definitely had a plan to protect vaughts reputation (again) by framing the main 4 and make a deal with cate and sam posing them as the hero’s with the help of homelander
Yeah, but Vought didn't know about the Woods. I kinda think that Homelander just wanted to twist the game, because he didn't want "woke" successors in his team, plus Marie technically did fire at the Vought staff too. There's even an ARG-based extension for Opera GX, emulating V, which is essentially Vought's Twitter. Here's Homelander's "veet" regaring his appereance: "The tragic events at Godolkin University, incited by four woke radicals, proves that our fight for freedom is far from over. I am relieved I was able to get there in time to stop them, and thankful for the brave efforts of the true Guardians of Godolkin - @CateDunlap and Sam Riordan. You two are the real heroes." Another thing is Marie being surrounded by corpses, blood and a dismembered Cate looking utterly terrified, so reasoning that she was the problem here is... actually valid. Whether he did know about Vought's plan regarding the Seven or not.
@@d4rksonic474vought knew about the woods, they created it to experiment on supes. They didnt know that shetty had started forcing the lead scientist to create a virus that could kill supes, which is why the doctor was so scared and tried to refuse to do it. Also, i assume homelander knows all vought's plans because he is in charge of it at this point and ashley reports directly to him, so anything she knows he probably knows.
@@d4rksonic474HL owns Vought at this point , and they created the Woods so of course he knew. And if he didn’t then Neuman(who works with him secretly now) probably told him anyway. Neuman just secured a failsafe against HL for next season with that virus while he probably will brainwash Marie to work as a Failsafe against Neuman (because even if he probably can withstand her abilities, it’s unclear and risky to try or worse face both Neuman and Marie trying to blood bend his brain at the same time). All the whole Butcher probably will gain permanent V to survive all this fuckery 😂
that doesn't make sense cuz if ashley and vought were planning to screw over marie, andre, etc, then they wouldn't have been considering andre as a candidate for the seven. but I think your theory does work if victoria only informed homelander and homelander didn't tell ashley
Marie or Neuman. They can't injure Homelander and soldier boy. These guys are highly durable. And especially Homelander is made up of indestructible lasers and soldier boy is a nuclear power
God this scene was so intense and well executed. Not only because we know how dangerous Homie is, but because we don't know what side he's going to take. Will he maintain a facade of moral righteousness and try to deescalate the situation? Will he side against the supes who essentially in sighted a race war? Or will he go after the ones fighting the supes? Has he completely forgon any attempt at looking like a good person after season 3? Seeing someone as high profile and powerful as him interacting with the gen v cast feels so weird too. You really get the feeling that they're at the mercy of whatever terrible choice he makes.
He's not, the most evil are the ones that created him in a lab, used him as a lab rat and raised him in isolation with no parents, siblings or friends. When you do that to a person you cant expect humanity from them and be mad when they turn out into a weapon since that is all he's ever known, and thats the only identity they gave him. Also look how they tortured and experimented on children in the woods, the humans are no better than supes
