Helpful hint: I worked in the Hotel business for years. Always look for an extended stay type hotel. (Staybridge, Residence Inn, etc..) They have kitchenettes so you can cook in the room. Both offer a breakfast buffet and a managers reception in the evening (pretty much a dinner and may only be a few days of the week) which are included in the price. Check the going rate before you go in and then ask for the sales manager or the manager and explain what is going on, the longer you stay the cheaper the rate and they will negotiate. Then ask again if that is the best they can do. This also goes for regular type hotels. If you are staying more than 30 days in most cases the taxes you paid are given back to you, cause it is considered by most states at that point a monthly rental, like an apartment.
You Hanks are amazing!! There you are “homeless” and still giving us the full Hanks Thursday filled with all the things we need to do to make repairs without any more stress than needed. #thankshanks you are truly amazing!! ❤️💞
It's like a happy shipwreck 😆. You gotta keep moving forward in life even though your world has drastically changed. Putting out useful information from real experience is always helpful 👌, thanks.
@@HappilyEverHanks you’re welcome! Glad I was able to join you guys and see that you guys are doing well and staying positive! I’m learning so much from you guys. It’s good to know what I could possibly be up against! Thank you for sharing your wisdom upon us and making it easier for us for when poop hits the fan lol. Stay positive keep your heads up you guys are doing great you got this! Much love ❤️
#thankshanks Thursdays are great!! My wife and I love you guys...you have helped us get ready for this new adventure and life we are heading on. #marriedlife
Definitely more Dexter! ❤️❤️ I use the “blanket/towel that smells like me”trick whenever I take one of my pets to the vet and they have to stay overnight…. It helps with anxiety!
Good video tonight! Not that I enjoy seeing people going through this type of event, but be mindful that your partner is an asset and another shoulder to help support y’all. Keep those spirits high: I know this must be trying. Just remember there are 46k people who need you to “keep it real!”
@@HappilyEverHanks I just saw a FB post where someone is thinking of going FT but have no one idea where to start. I told them to look you up and watch your videos. They will certainly get informed and in a fun way. Keep it up Hanks and hopefully will meet you both one of these days.
Don't forget to contact your insurance company about getting reimbursed for your home away from home (wherever that may be; hotel, air b&b, etc.). Many, if not most, policies include this reimbursement program for when you are without the use of your RV. Love you guys! You always make me smile;)
Man... you guys talk like a couple of RNs with the documentation of conversations! 😉 Fair enough! If you don't write it down in the chart, it didn't happen. (Retired RPh and RN here)
We had to stay at an Extended Stay before we got the RV. The best part was getting breakfast EVERY MORNING 😂 Can't wait to see ya'll back in the rig, but enjoy this time (complete with all the amenities) ❤
YES!!! The continental breakfasts are the best! 😁🙌🏼 Love that you guys made the most of it! Thank you so much ❤️❤️ Hope you guys are doing well, much love from the Hanks family!!
Not yet but close! We plan to move into our RV by early November. We are going to head north up to mid Michigan for a couple of weeks to spend Thanksgiving with family and then start south for the Carolinas. Super excited to get on the road! 😁
Love the lump under the covers on the bed! #marriedlife is def full of times when you pull together and get thru it. You both are doing such a great job of keeping the train on the tracks! Love y'all! Dave and Lorrie
Little tip for organizing these repair projects: use a time tracking app like an accountant or lawyer would use to track billable hours. They usually have functionality to track what you were doing, what app you were using to do it, and when you did it. Plus a way to take notes for each event that it tracks. I use one called Timing and it tracks everything I do on both my phone and laptop, so it's really easy to just create a certain tag for a given "project" and periodically go back to organize everything under that tag after the fact. That includes webpages I visited, google searches I made, calls/facetimes I had, pretty much everything. And I can attach notes and documents to all of it as well. I use it as my primary life organizer and only occasionally use it for actually tracking freelancing billable hours.
I love how you two praise Grand Design on taking care of your RV while it's in their possession. I like the Momentum 349 M by Grand Design. Might have to take a closer look.
Well I know how your feeling, We have 19 Imagine 2600rb. We purchaced a 2020 Solitude 380fl in April. We had the Solitude parked at our storage unit and they were trying to move a car beside the trailer and damage the side. This was the first week of Sept. They just got the parts couple weeks ago and it won't go into the body shop until Nov 20th and we be there for 2 weeks.Thankfully we didn't sell the Imagine so we could still camp. Heading to Florida Nov 8 from Canada. Wish the 5th wheel was finished but will be taking the Imagine...
Goodness, so sorry that you guys are going through this. Like you said, we are so happy you also have the Imagine to continue camping in!! Keep us updated on how the repairs go, thank you for all your wonderful support 🙂👋🏼
#Thanks Hanks #Married life. Hey Kyle not sure if it's because you shaved or the lighting but you look younger tonight. Renee always looks great. Our rig has been in the shop going on a month now. The springs have flattened out so Dexter is coming the repair and parts under warranty. I just want to get it home before we get snow. Good to see your both enjoying this short season away from the road.
My husband and I are planning to go full time. It is a little crazy because we don’t even have a rig yet. We are going to pay off our vehicle first. But I love you guys so much! You have already helped us so much. Keep doing what you are doing! We hope to see you down the road
We are currently staying in a hotel studio/suite While our Skoolie is being finished which means there is an entire kitchen and living room. This way we don't have to eat out.
My wife and I are owners of a 2021 GD 390 RK Solitude. As of today, our 5th wheel has been sitting in the parking lot of American RV Service Center in Salem, VA for 9 WEEKS, waiting for parts. Each week we get told parts are received yet the unit is still not finished. A few weeks ago we met Mark from GD who's one of their mobile techs and hoped the conversation we shared would help our work get completed...yet still, we wait. We are full-timers traveling with our German Shepherd, so like you two the 5th wheel is our home on wheels. Luckily, our daughter recently moved to Roanoke so we've been staying in her basement. But honestly, we are over being in the basement and really really want to get back on the road! I can't imagine what it would've been like had we not been able to stay with family for all these weeks not to mention how costly it would've been. So, we wait not so patiently at this point because we really have no other choice. I will add that once we get our unit back I'm wondering if we'll ever just leave it for service again without setting up a tent in the parking lot??? So glad to hear you were only displaced a few weeks...maybe that's the key though - drive to the manufacturer for service issues. We enjoy your content and appreciate all the knowledge you share. Happy Travels! Shad & Kristie Adair
Hi Shad and Kristie! It's wonderful to meet you both 🙂👋🏼 What a beautiful rig that you guys own, we are so sorry to hear about your recent struggles with repairs. Having fur babies with adds an additional layer of stress as you know. So happy you have family near by ❤️That's wonderful! We are honestly not sure, we were so thankful that our home on wheels was still livable while we waited a few months for an appointment. It can be worrisome when you need work done fast. If you don't mind us asking, what kind of repairs are you guys waiting on to be completed??
Hey Shad, I am so sorry to say this...RU-vid has recently been deleting comments randomly and we can't read certain replies. I saw that you responded and wanted to let you know that we are not trying to ignore you! Don't feel pressured to reply, but hopefully we can continue to hear from you on other videos 😊Your feedback means a lot to us!!
Also when we dropped off for repair we did not get any updates. After 4 weeks we went to see our rig. They said it was fixed. No one let us know. Something told us to check out our TT. Come to find out it was never done. We had to press nicely that they never did it. We went over the pictures and had manager come with us to see the damage. 5 weeks later it was finally done! During that time we worked with several people. Drawer was also damaged. That took 4 months. OK with that.
We love our Thursday visits with the Hanks 🥰❤😊❤ By the way mom and dad Hanks, Dexter is kitty camping and not hiding under the covers. Just cuz it's kitty cool... 🥰😻🥰😻 #marriedlife Carl 🌞 Loves and hugs to all til next week X❤O❤X❤O
@@HappilyEverHanks Just found hail damage myself on my roof waiting to see how much damage was done. I might be in your situation soon. Keep the faith kids ❤️
@@HappilyEverHanks you are so sweet. I did get a call insurance adjuster is on top of it says I need a new roof and will get the claim rolling. We just have to find a shop available to get it done. Hopefully you guys get your home back soon.
Warning on Air B&B and VRBO. we have had bad experiences, where a few operators font have the housekeeping done when you arrive, recently I booked with Crashing Waves Rentals in North Myrtle Beach for my parents, House Keeping was not done, it was 7:30 Pm when they got in to town, and they couldnt get housekeeping there till the next day, so my 70+ year old parents had to sleep on an air mattress in out place. Had we booked with the resort, they had in house cleaning staff that could have done it that night or switched rooms. this is one example of 2 time we had this kind of experience.
Goodness, we are so sorry to hear that this happened to you guys Scott 😞 Thank you for sharing this with us. We wish you all the best and hope that we can hear from you again soon!
I'm so glad everything is working out for y'all. My biggest concern with travel and staying in new places is always Logan. One thing you may need to look out for is just because it's "Pet Friendly" doesn't mean it's advantageous to stay there. Some places will make you pay $25 - $50 extra per day per pet. Two years ago I flew into Miami from Peru and found a "Pet Friendly" hotel on South Beach. When I got to the hotel they let me know it was $35 per day for Logan. Plus, I wasn't allowed to leave him in the room by himself. So for me, I couldn't take him to the beach because of local laws and I couldn't leave him in the room so I was stuck. I was happy Logan was with me but you may have to modify your expectations when traveling with pets. I'm going to PM y'all. Got something for y'all from Peru. Lots of love from Peru, Uncle Mac and Logan
Wow, a lot of useful information again. After I took it all in I think I will just avoid parking under trees. Last time I had an occurrence under a tree it was two squirrels practicing their Tango lessons on my roof at 5:30 AM. #thankshanks, hang in there.
Thank you so much!! 😊🙌🏼 yes, those darn trees can really sneak up on us all! Gotta love those squirrels and their tango sessions Thank you for watching friend!!
When our Cruiser was about 7 years old, our big dining room window was hit by a rock( we think) on a road trip and it had multiple cracks. It took 8 weeks for the window to be made and 3 weeks to get the technician to come to the house to replace it. We had laminated sheets to keep the window from falling apart. We had to cancel another trip we had planned due to how long it took. You may want to see if your insurance covers accommodations and meals while you have to be out of your home.
LOL Love this Eric!! Thank you so much for your awesome support 😃 That's exciting!! Keep us updated on how the hunt for the RV goes :) Would love to hear about it!
@@HappilyEverHanks I narrowed it down to the one I want. The only thing holding us back is fear. Not as big a rig as you have but I’m fitting it to my truck. Hope to see you back home soon.
Hey guys, happy Thursday! Great video and love to see your smiles. Everyday is one day closer to getting back to your home and hitting the road. Kisses to Dexter!
We are transitioning to RV life here in the next week or so and it was abused by the previous owners they were an elderly couple that have passed now and they couldn’t keep up on alot of stuff so just fixing everything. From the lack on window caulk, roof leaks, broken finders, broken shower pan, new Lights new light wiring. All sorts of stuff. So its sucks to have to do all that but the more you do yourself the more you learn. These Trailers need regular maintenance to stay viable.
Absolutely, the RV's definitely require regular maintenance. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but it is awesome that you will have so many more tools and experience with fixing these things! Good luck with all of the repairs, keep us updated on how things progress with them. Where do you guys plan on heading first starting next week? Any big destinations planned?? 🙂
Cool neon lights! Love how you both support each other and roll with it when the conversation takes off in a different direction, great chemistry!😂 #thankshanks!
If you are near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho or Spokane, Washington then RnR RV is the best place for service for Full Timers! They have spaces with full hook-ups you can live in while they work on your rig. Super helpful and great work! 👍
Having literally living in hotels for about 3 years of my life due to work if you get an extended stay hotel like Homewood Suites or whatever the Marriott equivalent is they have a complete, if somewhat limited kitchen that makes meal prep sooooo much easier. Also I have found that sometimes if you are very long term in a hotel they will sometimes let you use their kitchen. I once made a complete Thanksgiving dinner in a hotel kitchen. Another time I made a blackberry cobbler. I had to share but it was a nice little slice of home. My point is that you can have a complete kitchen in a hotel if you look around some. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
What great content AND freakin' awesome vid work...my favorite part was when you were on the billboard...soooo cool 😎 #thankshanks....#marriedlife...you guys are still rockin' it even without a RV. Glad to hear you'll be coming south in January. We'll be in Navarre...we're in Tampa now. Sending love & hugs🤗😎 Safe travels🌴💙💚🌄🏖
Theres 2 things I look forward to on Thursdays, The Hanks new video and 51 weeks of no turkey. 1 week out of the year im disappointed though, not really I enjoy seeing family.
Hi Dana Laurie I can feel you pain a little. lol My trailer just left for winter. Will be back in in it May 2022. Its been fixed regulated and spray port. I put antifreeze in line. Glad to hear your home is being fixed. Hope you will be back in it soon. Always looking forward to my Thursday night to see what you guys are up to.
Hey Dana and Laurie 👋🏼 it’s great to hear from you guys 😊 Other than the trailer being winterized, how are things going? Yea, we can’t wait to be back in the rig again. We miss the home on wheels!!
@@HappilyEverHanks Hi Thing are going pretty well. Starting to plan a trip to the east coast of Canada. P.E.I Nova Scotia Quebec. Also going to up grade my camper. CRE 3000 suspension. Any word on when the repairs will be done. Any up dates.
That’s wonderful to hear!! Yes, we will be bringing some updates on Thursday for the new video 😊😊 We can’t wait to see you there and get your thoughts!!
Great tips love you guys. House sold. 1 ton truck delivered. Now for our rv. You have equipped me with a process. Floorplan, alliance , shopping dealers and rv inspectors. Wish us luck. Homeless 😂
Great information. We were displaced from our rig for a week in January. #marriedlife at the time we had a teenager and our fur baby. The service place was great and gave us recommendations for not only places to stay but for things to do as well.~ Mary & Fred

@@HappilyEverHanks been gearing up for a cold winter. Got Odin (our 5th wheel) winterized and stored 😔 been learning so much about this content creation thing and all things you tube…not enough time in the day! You guys are always such a breath of fresh air. Missed watching you. Need to get caught up. Stay safe and keep well 😊
Aww sorry that Odin was winterized, it will be back out and stretching the legs in no time 😊😊 Hang in there!!! Yes, it can be a TON of work. We are rooting for you guys ❤️❤️ Stay warm and stay safe!!
I can’t remember if I commented on this video! 🧐😗😰!! So I’ll just lay this here and tip toe to the next!! Plus it’s funny to see your expression. When you keep jumping back into older videos to reread comments. Lol
Hey guys we can totally relate. When we had water damage from a leaky (3 yrs) dishwasher in our sticks & bricks, we had to file a loss/ claim. It caused water & mold damage. Because my wife has mold disease, we had to move out into a hotel with our 2 cat fur babies. For 45 days! It wasn’t easy as we had to have our home medically mitigated from all mold, mold spores top to bottom, thankfully our insurance covered much of it. This, all when Covid had just hit and everything was being shut down to flatten (yeah right) the curve. Time passed, we got through it and are better people as a result of it. Consider this a marriage building exercise as everything is. Peace & Love, and PATIENCE!😎☮️❤️
Hey Matt! It's great to hear from you! Goodness, 45 days?!?! That's so long!! Glad that insurance didn't give you guys any problems. You both seem like wonderful people, love your attitudes! Stay safe guys 🙂🙌🏼 We hope that we can continue to hear from you on other videos as well!!
My Motorhome is in for repairs since September 29. I finally going to pick it up this week. I live in Northern NJ. I been trying to get back in RV. So i could head south. It's starting to get colder here.
@@HappilyEverHanks i pick it up. But they didn't fix my broke window lock and heater. I have to bring it back again. Because they don't have any room on the lot. That why it's in my driveway until parts come in. If and when it fixed going to Carolinas. Hopefully very soon. Because the temperature is down in low 30's & 20's this week. 🤞🤞🙏
We sure hope you can get it fixed soon as well 😣 Those temperatures aren’t friendly Keep us updated on how things progress, we would love to hear from you again Renee!!
#ThanksHanks #MarriedLife. Great video you guys constantly have that down home vibe. Keep it up. From the video you brought you RV back to the factory - do many RV manufactures do that? When the car breaks down, you can take it to the dealer, but not the manufacture. Since your in Elkhart, IN that seems to make sense, however is that “normal”? Also, I recall in one video you mentioned that you where “brand ambassadors”. Does that help open the doors to get service appointments as compared to say non brand ambassadors?
Hey Ed, even though we are part of GD's influencer program, we still had to wait for an available appointment which took about 2 months. Not all RV manufactures have their own service team, luckily GD has a great one! Thanks for watching!
@@HappilyEverHanks That is cool and happy to read no special treatment. Keeps the show real and down to earth. Just a suggestion you may want to scroll that across the screen. Gets you street cred
Thanks Hanks! Very practical info. Sure hope you are closer to moving back “home”. (not sure quotation marks should be used, I mean cripes- it IS your actual home). I just hope they fix everything right the first time (AND dump your black and gray tanks too! ) (and maybe a nice mint chocolate candy on your pillows for your incredible patience)! Can’t wait to see you back on the road!
Thank you so much Jim!! We are so happy to hear that this was valuable content 😊 It definitely is our home! No more stick and bricks for us hehe! I like the way you think!! You sound like such a great guy, we definitely can go for a chocolate candy on the pillows 🙂 Best to you friend, have a great weekend
I wish I had know you were going to be in the ND area. I had extra tickets to last weekends game and would have given them to you! Good luck with your repairs. Love watching your videos - keep the positive attitude and fun videos rolling.
Even going through a tough time, you can still maintain a positive, HILARIOUS attitude! You guys got this! Keep on keepin’ on! Well wishes from a fellow nurse❤️👍🙏

👍👍👍hoping your back in a perfectly repair unit soon…. Best not to let repair shop and insurance adjuster do it alone…. Be the middle man and dont take no for and answer. Most likely your insurance is going up or canceled on bigger claims. So demand as adjusters are NOT your friends Great vids as usual 👍👍😎
We were displaced from our RV unexpectedly. Come to find out our electrical control panel was bad. Luckily we were only 2 hours from my boyfriends mom's house so we went there but I would not have been prepared if we were in another state
