Homeless Woman Interview - Alicia Update 

Wow. It's Alicia! We used to work together in a dentist office. She was a receptionist and was really good with welcoming in new patients and making them feel comfortable. She had great style and would often wear knee high boots. I always wondered what happened to her. Glad to see she has a room and a job and is getting back on track. Stay strong, Alicia!

These women react to their boyfriends getting out of jail like if they’re graduating from Harvard or West Point. Interview them after they’re sweety pies hit the street.

Literally every boyfriend a homeless woman has is in jail.

Alicia, good luck and best wishes. Ditch the boyfriend and get sober. Your sobriety has to be number 1, always. Find a "home" recovery group and no boosting. You deserve the best for yourself. You can do it!

By Gods grace I was able to get out...drugs alcohol and gambling my former best friends..3 years 10 months clean now...I am hoping for the same for you Alicia..its harder facing life sober but it beats that vicious cycle of death. Much love!

Advice…..get rid of the looser boyfriends, find a man with a steady job and and a good heart because he would never let you live on the streets like a lost animal. Unbelievable

She seems like a legit sweet girl, who’s stuck in a whirlpool. I hope she finds the strength some day to run from all of this. And I hope she trusts some people to help her. And I hope when/if that time comes she is trustworthy.

The dichotomy of someone boosting and selling drugs to people but being so supportive of her jailed boyfriend really just blows my mind. Most people I know, if they got themselves into that desperate of a situation, would just move on to whoever could help them the most. She's even got a place now and the whole thing sounds stable, and she's ready to ditch it all to stay in a recovery shelter with him whenever he gets out. I hope this guy appreciates what he's found in her.

I just learned that "boost" means stealing from shops. No wonder you've been so euphemistic about this stuff. Can you please decry such behavior? It is unacceptable to shop lift under any circumstances. There are ALWAYS alternatives.

As harsh as this may sound, she needs get her life in order, particularly her sobriety, before dealing with her incarcerated bf who may or may not be in the same mindset of getting clean. This relationship wil likely result in a zero point zero chance of recovery and inevitably return them to the streets. I mean for eff sakes they met at the party motel. I'm sure she could do better.

This girl is severely mixed up. She needs to get away from the idiot boyfriend in prison asap🙈She needs to get out of there and start somewhere else.

She's still struggling because there is obviously very strong underlying conditions that persist mentally emotionally and psychologically. Most issues like this are rooted in emotionally, mental crisis type issue, especially trauma. A society will be judged based upon the well-being of its weaker members. Some people are simply emotionally weaker than others and need to be under aome sort of shepherding program away from the urban city centers.

I've been sober for 7 days now, just not in a row

So many people I know and have known that just lost everything to drugs, I wish them ALL the strength to beat their addictions. 🤞🙂❤️👍

She's not 7 days clean, you can hear it in her voice when she's talking thats she's lifted.Honesty is one of the most important parts of getting sober.I hope she ditches her scumbag boyfriend,mine always did when I was being a scumbag and went to jail lol.God bless her please and thank you.

This young woman has so much potential. She's a good person, beautiful inside and out, & intelligent. I hope she can find a way out

So she's waiting for her boyfriend to get out of the jail and doing what exactly on the streets at the meantime? Other than collecting true evidence and having her nails done to a royal standard? Also I am impressed with the strong friendships she can establish yielding a guy arranging easy accomodation for her. That's cool..!

I work and know the homeless here in Anchorage. Her (Alicia's) story is so common. I heard a statistic from the VA that it takes 11x times to get clean. I pray for this young woman....there is hope Alicia...

She looks very young but it clearly took a toll on her and looks like she aged years... Is this her normal voice or what? Drugs or smoking? I'm glad she had friends, hope she continues to go higher and stay blessed!

i lost a lot of family and friends to drug addictions. they all say the same thing about boyfriends or girlfriends in the life ... nobody understands what they're going thru like that other person. it's hard to get them to see that the friend or significant other is not helping. seems like they're just coping with inadequacy, by using. then things get away from them. they always seem to be good people who got caught up too. it's harsh. i wish alicia and all of them the best.

I honestly didn't believe that someone who looks this good could be homeless. All of the homeless people I've seen look rough and their hygiene is terrible where they have no real access to the amenities we take for granted.

She seems like a sweet girl. I hope she continues to keep straight and improve herself.

What a wonderful young lady no one is perfect because it could happen to anybody

Translation for those of you that buy what she is selling: she doesn’t have a job, because she doesn’t want a job. Her paperwork is stored at her parents house, but she isn’t, because her parents are all stocked up on what she was selling to them. They ended up having to give her tough love, which is exactly what everyone should do at a certain point. Think about it, her parents, and possibly siblings, told her to go live on the streets, and that was the best option. If you can’t read between the lines, it shows why we are, where we are as a society. She steals (“booster” lol), to buy drugs. It’s easier and less responsible than having a job. Plus, some companies don’t let you do drugs while you are working.

I hope her family Never gives up on her, she's in need of their hope, love and compassion, not judgements.

You can make it Alicia! Give the Lord a chance to work in your life. Fully surrender and He will set you free 🙏

Drugs are the devils best tool, I lost my brother to them, I lost 6 yrs of my life. Look at this lovely girl. she is stunning and drugs have her on the street, I pray she gets out while she is still sane, still healthy and has a chance. I will pray for her.

It's amazing how people automatically believe her and have sympathy for her because she's a women who was at one point somewhat attractive.

Even though she is kind, her story has so many twists to it and is hard to believe.

And Casper sounds like a stand up guy as well--just another victim. He didn't do much wrong at all--super nice dude. He just done got shot. And her boyfriend sounds like yet another victim. In jail for no reason. I wonder if they met while students at Yale or Georgetown.

You can tell a junkie is lying when their lips are moving. Imagine drug dealer being your “cover story”. I found a nice guy that lets me rent a room AKA im working for a pimp in his brothel in exchange for supplying me with drugs i need to function everyday

I'm going to put a prediction down now... They eventually do get the couples shelter together (but it took longer than expected.) Then before they were able to get an apartment together her _boyfriend_ wasn't able to stay sober. He messed up and they got kicked out. They didn't have any single beds available on short notice do she had to leave too. And now she is frustrated with him.

I wish I could just pick her up and take her away from all that shit. She seems like such a good person, just in a bad habit. I’ve been there and been through addiction. Thankfully I made it out alive. I just wish I could save this girl. Such a pretty girl, she deserves a better life.

What does boost mean? I tried looking it up and it says it's a computer language, and then I looked up the slang definition and it says to steal to pay for a habit. If that's what it is, my brother does that and I lost so much stuff because of him, that I had to move and I got a restraining order against him. He put me in a headlock, after confronting him and I got out of it and I broke his nose. That was the last time I seen him outside of court. He did jail time and he has nothing to go after, so I am at a loss for the front door he broke, the stuff he broke looking for something to sell, and I was on probation for domestic violence, which is bullshit, because I never had a record and he attacked me 1st. I was in jail for the first time in my life and on probation because of his addiction. I am in my late 30's. That's why I moved away. People like that, make life miserable. I worked hard for what I had and still have, and 1 person, my brother, made me get something on my record, and since he is the oldest, and I am the middle child, my parents were on poor Mikey's side. A 40 year old man that gets a allowance for his drug addiction and caused hell in my life. I hope that's not the same life she is living. My brother doesn't even look like a regular human being anymore. It's really sad. I used to talk with my brother and try to encourage him but he is to far gone now and his problems caused me issues. I am currently trying to get a lawyer to get this off my record, but it doesn't look good, since my brother has my parents on his side.

If i lost everything in the world including money and family and home today I could be homeless.Not sure were i would go.I do know i wouldnt start drugs. Thats will always take you backwards farther in life.

Being homeless just places you in that whole sphere of BS and mess. It's super easy to allow yourself to be sucked into it if you're not disciplined and maintaining the priority of getting an apartment. Homelessness isn't the time to be play fast and loose, nor is it the time to hang out with other homeless folks and their issues. Glad she has a room for rent and is focusing on improving her situation and staying away from old haunts.

i tried to help people but it didnt work out. i got a lady that was homeless and she had a 12 year old daughter a job making 2000.00 dollars a week but the next week she got arrest for meth. and that was the end of that. this job you need a chauffur licence and no felony offences and you have to take a durg test

Alicia i feel this boyfriend is only going to hinder you and hold you back. you really need to ditch him and focus on yourself, your doing great and you will do fantastic if you solely put yourself 1st you owe it to yourself hun. great to see your safe.

All the homeless girls on the streets seem to have boyfriends, but look at any homeless guy,and ask him if he has a girl, chances are he doesn’t.
