I would upgrade all those carriage bolts on the hoist pivot points to a gr8 bolt 1/2” at least as those carriage bolts are soft but looks like a great bush unit
I love this, I just bought my first ever atv as I have 5,500 square meters of gardens, and I have a little tipper trailer “dump trailer” that is far to heavy to lift when full and the annoying thing I experience with the trailer is the tailgate, it has two welded on hinches at the bottom and to locking bolts at the top, so when I do tip the trailer I have to disconnect the lights and then fully remove the tail gate annoying as f**k! So I would like to do what you have, I only a month ago learnt to weld, still learning but decent at the job, so still week end I’ll plunge into the world of modifying my trailer to make life easier as your video has very much inspired me to get on with it. Thank you
adam pietroske I will do a update soon it lifts great I can do a 3/4 load of gravel and it lifts it ..if I were to do it again I would move the back hinge forward a bit
Great Design on the trailer. I was wondering how it is holding up? I built one using your scissor arm idea, works good but it starts and lifts great then when it hits the transition point the whole trailer Flexed and then continues to Lift perfect again. Wondering if you had the same problem?
Great trailer man. Nice build job. I am currently building one for my ATV also. Been referring back and forth to your video for ideas. I am working on the lift now.
Really nice trailer. To get started I was hoping to pick up some used wheels with tires and also get some used wheel hubs. Any tips on getting started?
Steve smith At 8:55, it looks like the pieces involved in the lifting mechanism could have been more heavy duty? The angle iron, carriage bolts, etc look small. Not a criticism. Just wondering. And I like to overbuild things like that. Even if it works for what you are lifting....to me that doesnt prove anything...most things are built to handle way more loads than the working loads. Do you think this would operate well if you had 4 times the weight of a full load of gravel? Just curious if you overbuilt it with that in mind?
OI OI OI, the first mechanism wouldn't work cos the vertical pole was angled away from the box instead of angled with the box towards the back, but the 2nd way u did it was shear brilliance, u shortened the pipe and made it safer and the fucking thing tips so high that u dont have to get around there and push shit out. Well done Mr Green. Now u need to load it u for us and film it in operation dumping soil and tell us how much weight it can lift?
