If those diesel engines last millions of miles, it is worth the creation even with the most reliable small diesel engine.

You bet also diesels have higher exhaust pressure so you could say It's better than a petrol one in everyway apart from starting, also dieself and cold weather don't get along very well specially in subzero temps but I love em!

@@AutodidactEngineer a diesel has lower exhaust gas pressure (as well as egt), otherwise it would be as efficient as it is

It depends on the size of the turbo. Single cylinders aren't the easiest to turbo, due to the nature of intake and exhaust pulses being offset the way they are. Still possible though. I imagine a supercharger on one would work well, as the rpm and intake pressure required would make one of those ebay cheapies work like a dream.

What is the mpg are you getting. They say diesel is more polluting the world but for 100 miles you get more mileage than petro, if you do the maths then diesel is better because you are burning less than petrol.
