I just want to know that I am sitting here in tears, very emotional over this whole video. It reminded me of my first experience at Star Tours when I was about 6 years old, and how it was one of the highlights of my youth. You did a good thing here, and even though those kids may never be able to experience the original ride ever again, it's good to know that how amazing that ride continues to be and won't be forgotten. Thanks for being awesome.
This ride is a core memory for me, and for someone to recreate the experience in their garage for kids who would never experience it otherwise is just so wholesome. Incredible!
Legit my favorite part of the video. Seeing how much grander and far-reaching this experience was - not unlike the big reveal moment in Jordan Peele's US.
Oy, this nearly made me cry. My 27 year old millennial self would adore riding this simulator to experience the original Star Tours again. I'm lucky enough to have experienced both the original version and when they changed the animatronic to C-3PO. I haven't been to the park since 2004, but this was an amazing throwback to watch. Insane props to you for making this beast of an experience and preserving a theme park experience like no other.
that made me cry and laugh.in these tough times our kids need imagination ,fun, joy, and adventures .my faith in humanity got a big boost today,Godbless you.
Parents of the year too. Just an amazing job, and it looks you shared it with your neighbors kids too. You guys are awesome. If you haven't done it already a behind the scenes and how we created it video would be cool too. Thank you so much for sharing your Star Tours adventure with us.😊
wow that is INSANELY AWESOME. father of the year award as well as creative parent award. well played. whoever helped also deserves awards! absolutely delightful
I am in awe!! So much love went into this. And those kids - heart melting. This brings back such great memories! Star Tours is still one of my favorite Disney rides, but it’s so great to see good ole Captain R3X and the Endor trip again.
This is absolutely amazing! And this would be new to all of these kids, even if they've been on the ride at the parks...just...just like 900 kinds of WOW. Father of the year!
After I post a few videos of the other attractions we made for the party I'm going to make one that shows how the Starspeeder was built and everything.
@@disneylandathomeforindysbi4658 any progress on the behind the scenes? I'm just watching this for the first time and am amazed at how you were able to build this in your home.
WOW! You sir, are one helluva Dad! This made me very emotional as a proud fan of Star Wars, but most importantly as a father. I'm inspired to give my young son unforgettable memories like this just as you did with your daughter. Mad respect to you my man.
Amazing. This brings tears to my 55 y.o. eyes. I watched this in awe. It's amazing what some people do to bring joy to their children's' lives. It pays to have a father that's a manchild (and I mean that as the best compliment I can give to a fellow manchild father)! Bravo! Even your grandchildren's children will praise you!
Would love to see a behind the scenes video of how it was made and how it works. I assume that it is made to balance with people in it and it is hand operated from the back?
Came here from Digg - you made it onto their front page! And well deserved too. Wow! What an incredible present for Indy. Best Dad In The Whole Galaxy award for sure!! 🏆 🥇
I just stumbled across this video. What an amazing thing to do for your family and a great job making a core memory. This video made my heart smile. Thank you for sharing with the rest of us.
Brought tears to my eyes to see the love for something be passed on from parents to kids, Starwars is timeless and such an amazing part of our culture and something that truly shows how much we all have in common as a society. Thank you for sharing this and showing what good parents look like!! #daviddarkstone
This is amazing and made me smile when I needed it the most! What a fantastic way to celebrate your daughters birthday and to bring joy to so many. Thank you for sharing this!
Watching this was honestly incredible. Even as a kid, after my sister and I had experienced Star Tours for the first time, we had always tried to re-create the ride in our own imaginative world with cardboard boxes. You sir, have taken this to the next level for the upcoming generation of kids who will never get to experience the awe, originality and amazement of the original ride - and for that, I salute you. Keep the memories alive and maybe one day, I'll try to one up you on this video when I have kids....time will tell. May the force be with you.
THIS is the most AMAZING and IMAGINATIVE thing i have ever seen!!!!!! Being a HUGE STAR WARS FAN (original) and Disney fan. There are no words to describe this...YOU all did an INCREDIBLE JOB!!!!! The kids looked super happy...and that's the MAIN THNIG afterall..... the ONLY thing i think that would have made it even more immersive, is when opening the garage door to "escape" Vader, you could have made a false "tunnel"/wall curving away from exit and covering/blocking the view from the outside (so neighbors/other kids waiting) wouldn't see what was happening..... Again KUDOS to you all....The FORCE is definitely with this Family!!!!!!!!!!!
The kids were in groups going through the various parts of "Disneyland" in and around our house (we will be posting the videos of those areas soon). Star Tours was at the very end. Those who had not been through the Star Tours portion of the the trip yet were still going through the other areas, so when each group got to Star Tours they had no idea what they were going to see and experience inside.
Congrats!!!! You are an amazing father creating so much magic for you daughter! You have a really Disney Imagineer sprit! I can’t wait to see the other attractions videos and the behind the scenes!! Again Congrats!! Your an amazing Disney imagineer father!
That was AMAZING! I cried when you started taking the rest of the party going kids and they were so excited and all got to do the after experience! And great job on the ride. Holy wow!
This was so perfectly done. I love the original Star Tours. Have the various 3 3/4" figures that were released, as well as the fantastic blue and white Starspeeder 3000 ship mint in box that has the various sound effects that was released back in 2002. It was always a joy to take ride on the Disneyland attraction back when it was open and I lived in California. Unfortunately, the current Star Wars area and rides just don't measure up to the classic in any way, shape or form IMO.
