Dogs don’t actually require carbohydrates in their diet at all. Carbs can lead to inflammation, cancer, and other diseases. You give them 50% carbs with your homemade food, and the kibble has 30%-60% carbs, so your poor pups are getting waaayyyyy too many carbs that are only harming them. 😢

After becoming so frustrated trying to help my pooch with bad allergies and health issues she had, I tried a 100% Veg diet, starting at age 2. She became the healthiest of 7 dogs I had on non-veg diets and lived into her teens. She passed peacefully of old age. I was concerned at first, but because of my journey with her, came to learn dogs can be well nourished and very healthy w/out meat/organs/fish oils/etc. She is the one that got our fam veg leaning :)
Did you know bagged dog food is grade c meat and taco bell is grade d meat, grade A being the healthiest and cleanest so her dogs are eating very healthy and nutritious meals like her. If you eat fast food you are eating worse than bagged dog food yourself

Kibble companies have found this to be a cheaper method to produce, livestock farmers don't completely lose out on money for a dead animal in the field and the government can still get its slice of the pie financially. @ZAKCRI.. dogs need 10% plants in their diet and 80% meat. Those dogs look skinny as hell, and their skin looks awful. Dogs are not omnivores or carnivores they are facltative carnivores. They can get cancer if not fed meat or other diseases. The lady in this video the white and brown dog got cancer from not getting fed meat. And facltative carnivores are animals who eat alot of meat and little plants in their diet.

Dogs require protein from meat and lentils are not sufficient. Tbh your dogs don’t look very healthy and this is likely why. Yes they eat this but would eat almost anything because without meat your literally starving them. Any licensed veterinarian would tell you this. Regardless of your own diet or opinions on eating meat your carnivorous dogs need and deserve proper nutrition for their species.

I know you're feeding your pup's as you feel is healthiest, but dog's are Carnivores. They can have some plant based, but starchy carbs are not appropriate for their digestive systems and keep in mind sweet potato is higher in oxalates. Also best to feed fresh or frozen plant based instead of canned. My dog's homemade diet consists of variety meats, organs, heart within every batch, gizzards in certain batches, leafy greens, fresh/dried herbs, low glycemic veggies, butternut squash within lowest ratio of plant based, berries and a calcium source. Egg added to breakfast every other day, salmon/sardine meal every 4 days, homemade bone broth every other day, seeds every other day. Animal based is fluctuated between 75-82%. Supplement every other day, pre-probiotic supplement, sauerkraut or raw goat milk for supported gut health. Researching holistics may be beneficial for your learning curve.

@@crustyflatonion9595 I did research experts and they say Carnivore. Cats are Obligate Carnivore, dogs are carnivore, humans are Omnivore then you have animals that are Herbivore. All digestive systems differ which is why many dogs develop Pancreatitis and IBS because they are fed an Omnivore diet higher in starchy carbs. Not a natural diet for an animal designed to keep nature balanced through devouring whole prey with minimal scavaging needs. Then again you feed your dog as you see fit and I'll continue how I've fed mine the past 5.5 years.
It's like you forgot your dogs are dogs. My pup wouldn't feel spoiled in your home. He'd be screaming, "where's the beef". All of those ingredients are good(minus the kibble). Meat and some organs would be a better way to spoil them.
I was vegan for 850 days, so I respect the route she’s trying. But after my vegan experiment, I fully understood that we are not vegans, and we are not carnivores either. We are omnivores, which is why we have 2 different kinds of teeth. While dogs can eat veggies and plants, when you look at their teeth, there’s a reason they have a bunch of shark k9 teeth….. because they’re built to shred meat!!!! Again, I respect the effort, but dogs are carnivores, not vegans.

I do not use rice and oats grains because they r saturated with round up during growing season. Peas r also toxic to dogs. People need to research before feeding your dog anything.
Veggies should only take up 10% of your dogs meal. I would maybe only do 75% kibble and 25% the homemade food. You really want 80% of their meal to at least be meat or kibble. Not bashing just informing if ya didn’t know
I’ve noticed a lot of frozen veggies actually require you to bring them to temp. Because of how they’re processed. I make food for my birds and stopped using them because I like to feed them raw veggies
Rice, lentils, garbanzo beans, and oatmeal, my god, choose one. Too much veg. How about a couple of eggs, some canned sardines, organ meat, and most important calcium.

A common mistake people make is that dogs are carnivores. They are omnivores actually. but that doesn't mean she's doing the right thing. These dogs are literally starving because of the lack of meat. Idk if she is vegan or not, but if you don't want your pet to eat meat, then get a herbivore animal as a pet.

Oatmeal terrible for dogs. Idk why people think oats are good. Sure they have fiber, but they also soak all the nutrients from other foods in your stomach. Just something to think about do your research people.
Dogs should have 50% meat, 25% veggies and 25% carbs. I make my dog ground beef and eggs 1 pound. About 1 cup worth of veggies (roughly 25%) I cook tomatoes, carrots and peas. I put 1 cup of carbs, I cook potatoes and add ground flax. I also add the crushed up egg shells for calcium and add salmon oil to each portion before I give it to my dog. I give my dog kibble once a day and a half cup of the homemade as that’s what she should have for her size.your recipe isn’t very healthy for your dogs as they should be having more meat in their diet.
These poor dogs need meat just because you don't eat doesn't mean they shouldn't if you just added some ground beef as u call it into what you cook and stop the biscuits it will save you money and be so much better for them
I’ve never given my dog lentils, but I’ll start adding lentils in his food. He loves peanut butter, yogurt, pumpkin puree though and the collards and kale stems.
As a pescatarian I do feed my three dogs meat whenever I get the extra cash but for the most part they eat kibble. Many of us middle and low class feed it to our dogs and I did notice you gave your dogs kibble to along with the meal you made. Tbh I didn’t see a big problem as long as they are hitting their nutrition mark.

Healthy weight doesn’t necessarily mean healthy nutrition. Dogs require more meat than veggies and there are too much vegetables compared to meat content
