I made these! I MAAADE THESE!!!! They came out perfect! I have NEVER had yeast bread come out to be anything other than a hardened mass. They taste soooo good! Thank you so much for this video!!!! I watched it when it first came out but didn’t try it until now. I am over the moon (I know...you couldn’t tell) about this! There may be hope in the kitchen for me yet! Thank you so much Sarah!

❤ I'm 67 and am learning so much from your videos. When we refuse to take the mark of the beast , we'll need to have supplies and we'll need to know how to grow food, and make our own breads etc. You are teaching people how to be prepared.

I had carpal tunnel surgery a few months back and have what they call a trigger finger (in my thumb). I will have to use the hook attachment to my Kitchenaid Mixer. Back in the day I could make 7-9 loaves of bread, 24 buns and12 biscuits by hand, in one day.. now, add in some arthritis and 61 year old hands - and the hook attachment was made for me, Lol. Love your videos you and your husband put up. Subscribed many months ago!

You have convinced me to bakeall my bread. It's funny, I baked all my buns, bread, and sweet rolls when I worked. Since I retired and was elected to our local school board I have almost given up on canning, baking and scratch cooking. Your life and way of living has changed me. We live on half an acre and I used to grow and either can or freeze all the veggies we used all year. There are farms around where I buy all our meats mainly because I know the people who raise them and how they raised their animals. You have changed one family anyway.

hi Sarah.. great job on the buns.. I wanted to suggest to you that you can turn on your oven light 15 minutes prior to making the dough and once you made the dough just place the pan in the oven covered with your tea cloth to rise the buns..it provides the warmth needed to raise them.. my mother told me about this secret..works great.. thank you for your video.. I made them today turned out A1 ..all the best...

Just made these for dinner tonight, they were so good we ate some of them just straight as buns. I added 1/4 cup of butter to the warming milk and did an egg wash on top with some sesame seeds, so fast and my toddler even got to help :) thanks!

💯 The Best Hamburger Buns Ever! I added my yeast to the warm milk, plus I added 3 Cups of Flour (all purpose), plus I used my hook on my mixmaster For 10 mins just so I didn’t have to kneed it by hand..... it gets sticky at first but just keep It mixing until it forms a soft ball. Let it rest for 15mins, cut it into 8 equal balls ... flatten them like hamburgers covered for 45 mins and in the preheated 375 degrees oven for 15 mins.

Looks like you have my mixer. I have had it about 40 - 50 years. Love it. Also love homemade bread hope you get me back to making it. When my children were small I baked bread several times a week. I also canned, had chickens, wild ducks that came back every year, a pig, cow and geese etc. I so miss living in the country. Another subject, would love it if you had your videos listed first to last in order for those of us who started late. Love your videos.

I also have a KA from 45 years ago! It's one of the original old machines made by Hobart - a real workhorse! I finally got a pasta machine for it - it's so much fun to use.

It’s so comforting to see other families on a similar journey, we recently started eating organic and non-gmo and started growing our own food. This is all new to us , so thank you for the videos. We are learning a lot. I was beginning to think I was crazy bc my whole extended family doesn’t understand these changes. I’m praying for some likeminded friends locally( I’m in Alabama) thanks again, we truly enjoy the videos!!

We are in MA, and have been putting our homestead together for 1.5 years now. Same issue with family not understanding. More people, however, are starting to do what we all are. Our family loves these videos. Thank you!

Most people don't get it. Just be the black sheep and embrace it. I have found that unless you are in a city (which is kinda backwards if you think about it), most people just think you are crazy or fussy.

"Fussy eater" used to be a common refrain. NOW it's understood that many of those are actually real food sensitivities that that person's body was trying to protect themselves from! It took an old school Irish doctor to educate me to LISTEN to my own body and watch my daughter's symptoms to protect her from her own problems, keeping her off Ritalin by avoiding certain additives instead. And yes, it involved a LOT of " nos " to certain food, even from so called well meaning grandparents, even TRAINING those grandparents on the "whys" and more than a few uncomfortable moments...but my children still grew up healthy and happy, MUCH more so than with all the candy and soda in their lives, surprisingly, they went to school and THEIR, homemade snacks were the most desirable trades to be sought.... and when forbidden by school policy, the girls were healthier than their cohorts. Grandparents were mystified 'why' they weren't traumatized by not having the same foods and treats as their classmates. Why, without fail, they'd go to their grandparent's for the weekend, get "treated" to all the things they hot deprived of at home, and invariably spend the weekend sick as dogs. Sugar overload! Their bodies couldn't cope, so unloaded it as fast as possible! Completely incomprehensible to a family that routinely drank an entire case of soft drinks in a day! Wondering why their preschoolers were uncontrollable.

Nicely done. Just some info...If you use the KA Dough Hook, you can skip the hand kneading. Add all your ingredients and mix on low until the dough comes together and begins pulling away from the sides, about 2 minutes. You may need to add extra flour a Tablespoon at a time. Now the easy part. Increase the speed to 2, next notch, and let the machine knead for the next 10 minutes. That's it. Portion and proof...JJ

I made them tonight. Couldn't have been better and yes I also used my kitchenaid dough hook but also kneaded by hand . The dough have wonderful texture to handle . Impressed, made hot dogs buns also. 4 of each.

In the late 60's I used to watch my mom bake just like you just did Sarah. It brings back such wonderful memories. The house always smelled of the next tasty dish that she planned to allow us to ravish. She had recipes that filled many a books. What I didn't like is that it was coded. I could never figure what amounts she was using. She used PINCH, DASH, TOUCH, DROP, DRIBBLE, SLICES, and so many other confusing words in her recipes. She however knew exactly what they meant. I want to thank you for using real measurements in your video. it gives the rest of us a chance to relish in your recipes. Wonderful presentation and I can smell your kitchen from here. YUMMY!

I made these today and they came out delicious! I did have to add about a cup more flour. If you're new to baking this is quite normal based on temperature and humidity of your house.

This recipe made a beautiful bread machine loaf! I used your exact recipe, just put liquids on the bottom. I used 2 and 3/4 cup flour since you use a bit more while kneading. Thanks for the recipe! I'll try buns next.

If you want shiny hamburger buns and to let herbs stick to them mix a yolk with some milk to make egg wash. So good with Italian herbs on top!

That's good to know! I tried to put sesame seeds on top of my last bread loaf after I sprayed it with oil. They all fell off when I turned the baked loaf out of the pan! I'll use egg wash next time. Thanks!

I just made these and they were delicious! They were simple to make and the best darn burger bun I have tasted. I say do the hand kneading and touch your dough. It will be better. I had one for dessert after the burger. I want another. Thanks!

Just made these buns today. Woo!!!!! So easy and tasted great. I didn't have any instand yeast, so put my active yeast into the warm milk to bloom. I also had bread flour, so that's what I used. Only other thing I did was to rub cold butter all over the tops of them when they came out of the oven. Gave them a really nice soft top and were perfect for our sloppy joes. Store bought buns tend to get mushy and fall apart with sloppy joes, but these stayed perfect for our entire meal. I've already added the recipe to my phone for quick reference when needed. I think these buns would also be great to use for any sort of sub sandwich as well. Can't wait to make them again. Thanks for a great recipe!!!!

Making these again, this time for my husband's 65th birthday bbq tomorrow. Worked perfectly with bread flour for batch one, and 1/2 and 1/2 bread flour and whole wheat flour for 2nd batch. Sprinkled sesame seeds onto an egg wash and they look like store bought burger buns. Thanks!!!

I used this recipe for hotdog buns. Just perfect! I have a $30 hand held black and decker mixer that has dough hooks. Worked great! Best bread I've ever made.

I made these this afternoon because we wanted burgers for dinner. They were GREAT! They smelled so dad-gum delicious while baking! I used your recipe which makes 8 buns, but I weighed the dough and made 6 buns, 2 3/4 ounces each, and the rest went into a small pan of cinnamon rolls. I used 1 TB honey, and felt that was sweet enough. I baked them at 400 degrees F, because that's the temp I use for my dinner rolls. I will definitely make these again! They have a tender puffy center and nice close crumb, and are substantial enough to hold up to a hot burger without crumbling. I dusted the tops with flour for rising, and slashed the tops before baking. Thanks for this easy, simple, quick, delicious recipe.

I am sure glad to know that. It means I can always have some on hand. Or when we get off lockdown, can make enough for a bigger family get together if I don't want the oven on for real long periods in a day.

I've made alot of bread in my time and this is by far the easiest and most tasty bread recipe I've ever tried. I made the buns and the regular loaf many times and it's never failed. Thank you so much for sharing!

Have you tried adding herbs to the milk. Before starting warm the milk once hot try adding maybe 1 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning to the warm milk. Let it sit maybe 5 to 10 minutes. My mom use to make a to die for herb bread! Milk based with honey it always sold out at the flee market (pre farmers market) down in West Plains Missouri!

Sarah.......i have the EXACT same problem. i ALWAYS have to add an extra 1/2-3/4 cup of flour to my bread recipes. i don’t use organic flour so i’m not sure what the problem is??? ☹️. Sarah, OMGosh! this will be my forever dough!! the hamburger buns came out muwhaaaaa! thank you so much for a recipe, so good, no one will ever know you didn’t slave all day making them!!

I made these rolls today ,oh my they are delicious,and so quick to make, the crumb is fine they cut well and taste amazing,I used pesto butter instead of oil because i got it in clearance for 50 cents .I will never eat shop bought again. Thanks for the great recipe

We just called them Kaiser buns. Store Bakery sells them that way, crosses the tops in a six pointed cross with the back of a knife, (not enough to cut them), and dusts them with cornmeal. FANTASTIC enough that at almost 3$ apiece, they sell out before cooled! No matter how many dozen get made at a time!

Q: Why don't you put the dough hook into the mixer and let it knead the dough? Now that I put my 2c in, I tried this recipe. I don't have a mixer so I mixed and kneaded by hand. They came out ok. But they came out a little tough and dry. Probably didn't let them rise enough. And/or maybe baked them a couple minutes too long. My hoven tends to be a little hot per settings. They did taste very good though. I will make them again. Thanks Sarah. Ya dun good.

I just made these today for the first time and they are already gone...and only one actual hamburger was eaten in them! This is a great recipe. I have been baking all my own bread for a couple years now and this is by far the best recipe I have come across. Thanks for the recipe, Sarah. Made exactly as you did. Soft, light and airy! Quick - and easy and I suspect very versatile. I had a leftover roll toasted with butter and jam and it was great. Next time I will set my timer a couple minutes shorter -my gas oven baked these just a tad on the dry side. The recipe was fantastic and your demonstration was perfect.

Hi - I recommend SAF yeast which you can buy easily on amazon. It's a bigger brick of yeast but I just put in the freezer in a jar (you can use it straight from the freezer). It's the most reliable yeast out there and inexpensive in comparison because you're buying a bit more. I'm looking forward to trying your recipe.

Oh my gosh, I made these for lunch today with homemade veggie burgers. Oh my, I can’t even begin to tell you the enjoyment I received from this great lunch! I used almond milk and they were still awesome! I usually fear a recipe with milk thinking it just won’t be the same, but they turned out great. Thanks Sarah, for this awesome recipe! 😋😋😋
