Thanks to Danielwhowell we spread the tow rope apart and it laid hay down like a champ. I also demonstrated the Powerpost from Powerflex. For me these post are a time saver once you get use to using them. Thanks for watching and please subscribe and hit that like button. #kedeshfarm #regenerativefarming #rotationalgrazing #foodforthefuture #healthysoil #soilmicrobes #solarcollectors #powerpost #hayunroller

The unroller did a great job. Watch out for that spike protruding from the bale. Thanks for the video!

Your very welcome. I've found there's hardly a need for a tractor to move hay. It really help in preventing ruts. Thanks for watching.

An easy way to tell which direction the hay is rolled is to approach the bale from the side where the spikes go in (before they go in) and run your hand along the side of the bale like you are petting a cat. When you go in the direction it was rolled it will be smooth but petting it in the opposite direction will be like petting a cat from tail to head and you will feel the ends of the hay. You want the ends of the hay facing the fourwheeler if you want to unroll it quicker. Once you do it a lot you can just look at the bale and be able to tell.

Thanks. That makes so much sense. I will for sure use that method next time. Thanks for watching.

Nice work Z man! I started doing something very similar to what you’re doing with the San Angelo bar and towing straps, however I think you’ve inspired me to spread the towing straps further apart where they connect with my UTV. May I ask what length of towing strap you’re using and did you also buy it at TSC?
@KedeshFarm
@KedeshFarm Год назад
Not sure about the length. My wife purchased one a while back. I also found one in the roadway that I currently like better with not hooks. A subscriber recommended that I spread the tow ropes, a big thanks to Danielwhowell
@bonsukan
@bonsukan Год назад
@@KedeshFarm I believe I’m using a much shorter tow strap than the one you’re using in the video that has hooks and all the tension and pulling just knocks out the spring clips from the hooks. Tow straps without hooks probably work better.

What about using two bars........ one in each end of the bale with a washer welded to one end so the rope wont come off ? And.... love smaller round bales .....I suppose they are 4x4 bales ? I have a 4x4 baler too......Id never go back to the large bales ! Dont need large equipment to move them. With a larger round bale ( wider ) couldnt you just add a wider bar on your 4 wheeler......and use that ? I also love the smaller bales to feed cattle in round bale feeders. Cows dont make near the mud hole around the feeders. I move them every time I give them a new bale .

That a great point on adding a contraption to spread the tow rope. As long as I'm driving straight I don't have any issues,just making turns can be challenging. I enjoy the Atv because it doesn't tear up my fields and it's cheaper on fuel cost. Yes that bale was a smaller bale. My normal source make 5×5 or 5x4 bales. Thanks for watching.
@jerrylansbury9558
@jerrylansbury9558 Год назад
@@KedeshFarm So may I ask......why is it an issue when making turns. Im curious. Or is it because it will pull he spear (s) out ? Or does the bale pull the rope under is and create too much friction so your four wheeler cant pull it ...also with the rope dragging on the bale itself ? Ive never tried this before. Its unique.......but as of now for me its too cold here in Iowa and too much snow also.
@KedeshFarm
@KedeshFarm Год назад
@@jerrylansbury9558 When making turns the tow rope goes under the bale. If I was to make the rope wider, it probably wouldn't be a problem. I'll be posting a video soon demonstrating the issue.

@@KedeshFarm then I would be asking around and get some cattle to feed threw the winter. That's what I did. Put 200 cows on and they proved hay I feed for nothing gave me a big jumpstart. More than the cash would have provided
