When I was a kid one of our cats stole a powdered sugar donut off the table and ran down the hall with it. There was a little white trail of evidence to follow.
I think Nagi wanted to play with it since it was the perfect sized ball. Poki was being so good but then he saw that Nagi had it and wanted to play too.
Poki's behavioural evolution has turned him from the disrupter, to the disciplined! Haha, I'm happy he has chilled out over time because he lives with a good family
@@WespectRamen It says a lot about the soothing effect of having a safe home and regular food has had on him. He's really settled down because his life is settled.
I can't explain the amazing feeling of being able to witness the beautiful transitions of your kitchens. As someone who has watched you 2 apartments ago, it feels like I'm growing up with you guys 😅 I was in high school, now I'm applying for my first job. Thank you always for putting out great content and being a motivation for many of us. Looking forward to more cooking videos with your new kitchen!
Both 7:18 and 11:34 made my night! I never thought an intelligent and majestic cat like Haku would try to eat plastic, or a reserved and mindful kitty like Nagi would attempt to steal human food that doesn't even contain meat!
I remember years ago in a video Jun said “I let my cats smell everything I do because it keeps them interested” and ever since then I let my dog smell new things I buy or make in the kitchen and he loves it and feels involved
Nagi is getting bigger, and braver! Who would've thought that out of all the kitties, Nagi would be the one to try to steal a doughnut haha! Its always nice to see another chill cooking video from you Jun! Edit: typo
That looks good! I can only imagine how flavorful the syrup would be in a month's time. I'd love to taste it. Surprised Nagi wanted a donut! Must be good!
I love that the kitties all join you when you cook. It always makes me smile watching your cooking videos plus i learn some new things as well. It also reminds me of the fun of cooking with my own sweet kitties, though my oldest kitty has no interest in that anymore and prefers quiet naps away from the younger kitties and my puppy. I would love to see how to make more recipes that you enjoy as they motivate me to try new foods and dishes I had not tried before. Thank you for the amazing videos each time too.
Wow, Nagi moved fast! Jun stayed composed and loving, what a nice guy. I loved Haku’s yawn: not impressed! Thanks again for a gentle, relaxing video that’s also so entertaining.
i usually never comment on videos, but i've been following both you and rachel for at least 5 years, on all of your channels, and i just want to say thank you. as someone who's battling with new discovered ADD, which at times gives me depressive and anxiety episodes, your cooking videos is like therapy for me
I was actually thinking about you guys before, and then you uploaded! The kitchen looks so lovely! Glad you could make the kitchen exactly how you dreamed! The plums remind me of when I used to take green plums places and nobody would know what they were! The cats are so cute as well! I couldn't help laughing along when you opened up the carbonated water, and when Nagi sneakily snatched a donut from the plate! And of course, Haku rides the 'Jun's shoulder express' once again!
I don't know if I will be noticed but, thank you Jun for being an inspiration and I am proud of you and your wife Rachel I have been watching you guys since the old jun's kitchen videos like the edible sakura trees and とんかつ. I am glad you are back in the swing of things and the house looks beautiful and can't wait for he tour even though I remember the video of you and Rachel talking about it and showing the 3d model
Everybody has his own taste in kitchens i suppose! I think it looks very American-ish. With all the appliences in seperate cabinets. Doesnt look appealing to me. I like it more integrated as one
Jun, I love watching yours and Rachel’s videos for years. Love your kitties, too. Today I took on fostering a very special cat. He was found in San Jose’s Japan town district. I thought he needed a Japanese name to honor that, so I am naming him Jun. my goal is to find this very special cat as loving a home as you and Rachel have given your babies. I wish you all the best.
While I'm not sure if cats get headaches from ice, my mother's cat really enjoys very cold water. Especially with ice cubes in the water. Put an ice cube in her water dish and she runs to take a drink and lick the ice cube.
I was pleasantly surprised to see this on my feed, I wasn't expecting Jun-san to feature Okinawan anything! Just commenting to let y'all know, if there's anyone here who'd like to try making these from scratch, try searching for recipes online with the keywords "Hawaii andagi recipe" or something to that effect. In the Aloha State these doughnuts are usually just known as "andagi" and are a popular item at the annual Okinawan Festival, which this year (2022) is being held on September 3-4 if you're on Oahu. If not, try looking up the Hawaii United Okinawa Association, they have a channel on this platform if you're interested in Okinawan culture. Fair warning that most recipes I've seen for andagi don't use pancake mix and have a bit of a learning curve because they're deep-fried. They're delicious made fresh though so I encourage you to give it a try if you can! Thanks again to Jun-san for the happy coincidence of having andagi on the brain 🍽️
I found out that Cats can't taste spicy and sweet foods. They're attracted to the smell. Nagi taking one of the donuts is proof that you make good donuts. If I was Nagi I would take the whole plate.
Nagi: head donut inspector, capable of telling good donuts before cooking, will steal them away if sufficient quality Haku: associate donut inspector also Haku: inhaling/biting packaging like a gremlin poki: behaved?!
I grow that kind of shiso and I cannot believe how much you use, it seems so strong in flavor. It grows like crazy, I let one huge plant go to seed last year and it was the first thing sprouting after winter. Now it is all over the yard. I never knew the vinegar was what makes it redder. I chop and cook it in many things, that usually have an acid so I thought it was just what the plant did when you cook it. Now I know that trick - Thanks for sharing!
I never was taught to cook so having the gift of watching and learning from a culture whose food treats me wonderfully is so appreciated. Thank you for bringing us along! I hope you might do a kitchen basics for people with smaller hands or perhaps share safety tips. No matter what you all create, it is always a fun experience that I am grateful for. Be well, be safe!
I want to take a moment to appreciate your content, both Jun and Rachel. It's so nice, no BS, no politics. Even if you guys swear or talk about depression, it's real life and completely safe and has a meaning. You are good people! Thank you so so much!
Thanks to you and Rachel I finally caved and got my first Sakuraco box this month. I think the Okinawa treats made a good first box, though shipping all the way to America the donuts were somewhat less moist (I live completely opposite Japan so for that to be the only snack that suffered even a little bit on the trip is pretty impressive I think!). I have NEVER seen Nagi go after the food in one of your cooking videos so I guess he approves of your version. So strange that Poki was the well behaved one this time. 😂 I also continue to be amazed at how rich the yolks look on the eggs you get. Even the yolks from my uncle's chickens weren't so bright. In any case I've followed your channel through several kitchens now and it's amazing to see you finally with the kitchen you want with all that space and bright light.
I love seeing you cooking in your new kitchen. These fruity things are great since we're vegetarian, even we can make them! Love how Nagi is like "obviously father, this is a toy"
Watching any video you make is always able to pull me out of any negative thoughts or emotions and makes me feel like there is no evil in the world, thank you.
Your kitchen is lovely, it must be nice to have it how you like, so spacious. That's the first time I've seen one of your cats actually take some of the food you prepared.
They say one of the tricks to get kitties to drink more water is to pour some over the dry food. So you could try that if they aren't drinking enough water on their own.
See? Even Nagi is glad you are back on! Following you from Kitchen to kitchen has been interesting. It always looked a little cramped for you but just right for me. Poki was doing so well. I think it started when he suddenly took an interest in Peci. Sharing, grooming, showing the ropes. Maybe Poki just grew up!
Jun your videos always bring me so much peace even at my most stressed moments. I always rewatch them and send them to all my friends. I’ve loved you and Rachel for years. so glad to see you guys happy in your beautiful home with your fur babies. All the best from America!
I love how you made your kitchen extra tall to take into account your height, yet you're still always crouching bc now you always have cats in your back 😂
So adorable when the bubbles tickled Nagi's nose when smelling the drink. What a fun video. We also have a, "cat community". Neighbors pitch in to have them fixed. They can roam free from home to home like trick or treaters getting treats!! What you are doing for the cats is amazing. It's a thankless job but very rewarding. So, Thank you.
Watching these videos always puts me in a place of peace and zen. Love your aesthetics, love your cats, love your food 10/10 can't wait for whatever you do next 💜💜💜
Your videos are like a tiny slice of heaven, thank you so much for sharing! Cats, delicious food, and incredible commentary. I always look forward to uploads from this channel ☺️
pichi’s doing fine! you can see her appear occasionally in their newer videos. she doesn’t appear very prominently but she pops up from time to time :) she shows up jn this video a few times: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QNzDbWIOanM.html
I was stationed in Okinawa for 2 years from 2010 to 2012. I miss the food there and just the overall environment. The sushi I would get from the local gas station was always so good. I can't wait to go back and visit someday.
