Wow! Thank you. I made a kanafeh few days ago for first time. But i cant find shredded kataif. This is great so i dont have to buy one but make one instead
I wonder if I could prepare this on my Blackstone griddle grill? If I put it on the lowest heat setting and watched it closely...has anyone else done it like this?
This recipe and method was great, however my only problem was when I squeezed the batter from my bottle into the pan, the dough ended up too wide. What can I do next time to avoid this?
Thanks for trying the recipe. Might be the batter is little thicker than the required consistency or the piping hole might me too large. Next time try to adjust the consistency by adding little more water if you feel its becoming like crepe. Make sure the piping hole is very thin and shake the batter well before making every batch of kataifi.
Mirch Ka Mazah thank you. I just managed to fix it. Looks like the mixture was too thin so I added two tablespoons more flour and 1 tablespoon of corn starch. It crisps up well now and is reasonably thin.
@@michellematte7411 you’re welcome! Love this simple recipe. I’m trying to get the kataifi strings to be a little less crunchy as it is tougher than what’s at the stores, but maybe it’s because those are super fine strands. It works for now though.
What kind of griddle are you using and where can I purchase one? I'm disabled and the heat from standing over open flame using a pan was too exhausting. I absolutely love how simple it is to slide off the ends of your griddle.
@@MirchKaMazah thank you so much. Odd thing is that I have Autonomic Dysfunction and with that a metal allergy. The crepe pans contain aluminum which is a neurotoxin. Unfortunately, I won't be able to use it. I did find one on Amazon too. Just being near aluminum or copper spikes my heart rate to almost 300bpm. It can and usually does leech into foods as well. I can only use cast iron (the human body requires iron) or stainless steel without any aluminum alloys. Thank you for taking the time for both video and for answering my question. Much appreciated.
@@MirchKaMazah ah ha, I found a 14"round cast iron one on Target. Yay!!! Thanks again. It will be much easier to slide dough right off the edge instead of lifting the pan.
Sorry to hear that! What went wrong? Make sure the consistency of the batter is correct and before making every batch of kataifi, shake well the piping bottle.
