This is a quick overview of my homemade log dolly. I welded everything with an old lincoln stick welder and painted it using Rustoleum rattle can. Music by www.hooksounds.com
That’s an excellent tool you’ve made, one of the best l’ve seen, due to the fact it can be assembled and disassembled as required. I’m definitely going to build one just like yours, well done mate.😊👍👍🇦🇺🦘
This thing is sweet. It s exactly what I need at the moment. How thick are the walls of the tubing? Can u give the specs of the welder you used? Whats ur guess as to the heaviest log u ve moved? Really nice work.
I'm pretty sure most of the steel was 1/4". I've moved a crazy heavy log, but the limiting factor are the wheels. I bent the first set that were rated at 400 lbs each. It's hard to find anything with a larger weight capacity. I used an old Lincoln stick welder.
Really love your project! It looks like you have 3 sizes of square tube in descending sizes for the handle. If the tube thickness is 1/4" what size of tubing did you start with...2.5"?
Thanks! I used some 5/8" rod. The weak spot are the wheels. Finding some that have more than a 300lb weight limit is near impossible. The bearings/races always bend.
