Your an inspiration man. These video remind me the caliber of work that can be acomplished when expensive tools arent an option. I come back every month i think to revamp my motivation on my lathe project .. Even a man with all the machine tools should have a deep apreciation for this kind of patience/ skill
No, you appears to be wrong. Large round holes and oval holes are done by machines. You simply cannot drill large round holes with perfect fitting as can be seen. Only easy stuff is shown done by hand and the rest, off the camera, is done by machines.
This is the best homemade lathe ever! But you really need to have some oil fittings so that you can oil the ways of the cross slide and the compound....and the screws as well. These slides need plenty of oil! Not grease......oil!
The lathe is looking really good. Gotta say that I always enjoy watching you work your magic to bring that beast to life. Great tunes too, life is good ;)
