HOMEMADE MOSAIC SUBSTRATE WITH FIBREGLASS MESH | All you need to know 

A short, easy to follow A-Z of how to make a homemade substrate using fibre glass mesh for mosaics.
These substrates are super light weight and versatile and you can make thin or thick ones depending on your requirements. All you need is tile adhesive/thin set and fibreglass mesh and away you go.

MATERIALS:
You will need tile adhesive/thinset - I use BAL Max Flex Fibre
Fibreglass mesh - available from mosaic suppliers
A plastic bowl or old yoghurt pot to mix the adhesive
A dust mask
Water
An old spoon
A spatula
And a piece of plastic.
