In this video I build a motorized couch from scratch. it uses a 160cc engine with a centrifugal clutch and a lawnmower transaxle. This project took a total of 37 hours to complete.

steve brady not a bad idea, would not be hard to rig a deck for it. I have a 46" deck off a John Deere that'd be perfect, it's three blade with the belt under the cover, a double pulley drives the lower belt, and the upper pulley goes to your engine.

the left side originally reclined, but I had to disable it because it was interfering with the steering wheel and the shifter. I also changed the gearing to the transaxle and it's much faster now.

Wow cool project. I didn't have a problem with you welding the extention on the axil. Just that if you grind a bevile on the end of the shafts it wakes a much stronger join/weld. To cool though.

I love it but you put the steering linkage in front which we all no is so wrong. 😂😂 I actually laughed when you called out the haters preemptively about the welded axle then proceeded to weld the wheel on. This will be great along with your other creations if your town has a Fourth of July parade.

Doctor Zoidberg I agree with the tie rod out front too. It is sarcasm based on a history of attacks from one guy on his off-road mower build with the tie rod in front of the axle but thanks for the kind thoughts of my family

Leah Smith It takes a lot more than a correction to hurt my feelings you’re wrong. Every word is spelled correctly. I just used the wrong word.. The funny thing is, is that I actually use punctuation and proofread but this one slipped through. If you watched the mower build series then you may have seen comments from one person over and over about the position of the tie rod on the mower being wrong because he left it in front of the axle when he flipped it around. I was being sarcastic about that and Micro Machines knows that.

quick and dirty build but like you said it'll work , would be a nice cart for a parade or sumting like that (could go dressed up as grandpa and grandma (doll) and add some airstuff like a confetty cannon out the back or a jump seat under grandma) , you could put a tablecloth over the steering wheel to discuise it as an end table one thing you might want to put sumting over , is the long steering linkage as the brake lever might hit if youre too enthousiastic and trow the alignment off

There should be a spring coming off that governor and the other end to a tab, that's the engine speed adjustment, you bend the tab to set the speed. You should be able to rig a fulcrum arm on to that to connect your cable, then you can easily adjust the speed while still having the governor. If your steering wheel doesn't turn much, I'd mount a small brake lever off a bike and use it as a throttle, like the hand throttle they had on the Honda oddesey.

Cool -Why not put ball joints off a garden tractor from landfill ?? , The old cars had a 90 deg. lever that was between the front seat mount it to the center of bottom of chair with a draglink to the tie rod it`ll turn easier and it`ll have better force to turn you`ll be able to sit right back ,, I`ll make a suggestion on the axle if you use a piece of 5/8 cable with 2 collets on each side it`ll flex with the runout of the axle without breaking might need a pillow block in middle .

I would love to see some more speed out of it and maybe a canopy so keep the sun off your face and idk how but make the exhaust really quiet so it adds to the wow factor other than that great build

earlier today I swapped the 36 tooth sprocket on the transaxle out for a 10 tooth sprocket. it moves nicely now!

First of all, I like it! But what's the purpose of it? Well, you could drive it to the front lawn of your property and drink beer with your buddies while waving to passers-by! But seriously , it looks like you have a lot of acreage and perhaps you have cook outs in your backyard. You could drive the couch out and then put it back when you're done.

If that was a pressure washer engine then it would have a tapered output crank. And you wouldn't be able to put that clutch on it. I'm sure it just simply came off of a push mower.

A relative gave me the whole pressure washer just for the engine, so im sure that's what it was.
