Today I made my own Okra conditioner. Funny thing is my uncle would always wash his dreadlocks with Okra leaves in Suriname. I always tought it was crazy, seeying him washing his dreads with the leaves. Now look at me washing my hair with Okra.
Boil the okra in water and then simmer for anywhere between 15-30 minutes depending on whether you want a thick or thin mixture. Strain the mixture into a container. Keep in mind this will thicken a bit more when it starts to cool out. but it has a rich content of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. Pray Live Love :-) Funny thing is.. In Suriname my uncle sometimes would use okra leaves to wash his dreadlocks. I always thought it was weird.. now look at me using okra as a conditioner 😂🤷🏽‍♀️

Misschien voor een twist out of wash & go

I've also included a little coconut oil and crushed rosemary leaves. Oh and a splash of lemon juice. But I'll have to try the baking soda too. Thanks.

This seems like something good to do in the winter months. I was looking for something to add to my regimen during the colder months. This is my first time hearing about this and I am going to try it. Did you wash your hair after it did you do this as a wash? I am a bit confused there.Thank you.

This made me want fried okra & tomatoes.😊I saw a hair product that contained okra which seems to be all the rage right now even though it's been around for a while. I'll definitely try it out, my hair & scalp need all the benefits they can get.

You are too funny I guess this slim is good for something hehehheeeeehhhheeeee Sista if I did this in the shower I would on the floor saying : I've falling and I can't get up" hehhee I hope you ate the whole okra lol I love okra in Creole chicken stew with other veggies and rice. Thanks for sharing this reminds me of Flaxseed gel, oh maybe you can do a video in that and see if it works as a condish?
@SamanthaPollack
@SamanthaPollack 6 лет назад
Ahahha please don’t fall. If my mom saw me making this she would say ‘why you waste those okras for your hair while it has to be in your stomach’. Yes it really feels like the flaxseed gel, But the okra was more slimy. Great idea! The battle of the diy gels/conditioner!

The okra has a vegetable kind of odor. If you know what I mean. Just like fresh greens, but after washing the odor is gone

You said not to make it thick, what will be your suggestions on how to do that? And what oil was you suggest using as well?
@SamanthaPollack
@SamanthaPollack 6 лет назад
I cooked the okra for 20-25 minutes. I will suggest to cook it for 15 minutes or at some water If the okra is still thick. You can use whatever oil you like grape seed, almond, jojoba etc

I know this video is old, well not that old, but do the creators realize that sometimes that their videos will often pop up and people may want to ask questions and they don't respond. That is just so annoying to me. How do expect for us so support if you don't answers questions. I see a lot of unanswered questions here. I started to ask one but I checked the replies so I wouldn't be asking the same question as someone else. Hell, nevermind I done forget the question. LOL
