BAKING SODA PREGNANCY TEST
This is one of the simplest ways to get confirmation about your pregnancy. In ancient times, when pregnancy test kits were not even invented, this pregnancy test with baking soda was quite popular and even today also a lot of women rely on this method. As you all know, this method is quite affordable and we do not need many things to try this method. So, let’s know more about the things that are required to try this method:
A small quantity of Baking Soda
2 Sterilized Containers
A small batch of an early morning urine sample (1st urine of the day)
Surgical Gloves
HOW TO PERFORM THIS TEST (METHOD)
First of all, you should collect your urine sample in a clean container and ensure that it does not get contaminated.
Then you should wash your hands, dry them and then wear surgical gloves.
Take 1 sterilized container and add some baking soda to it. Then pour a few millimeters of urine on it. To avoid any confusion, you can take equal measurements of baking soda and urine.
HOW TO INTERPRET (TEST RESULTS)
If the sample mixture gives you a fizzy reaction, then it means that you’re pregnant. A fizzy reaction will be there only when there is a presence of hCG in your urine sample. HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is one of those hormones that start producing in your body when you have conceived. The presence of hCG in your urine sample will be there when you’re pregnant.
If you do not notice any bubbles or fizzy reactions in your sample then it means that you’re not pregnant.
POINTS TO REMEMBER
You must keep in mind that this test does not give you precise results and the accuracy is approximately 50% only.
To collect the urine sample, you must wake up and simply use the washroom. Avoid drinking anything after waking up as that can dilute the urine and you will not be getting accurate results.
If you notice that your periods are missed and you are trying to conceive then you can take help of this pregnancy test.
You should never try this test at night because the presence of hCG in your urine is quite less at that time.
To know the 100% accurate confirmation of your pregnancy you must fix an appointment with a doctor and they will recommend you to undergo a urine and blood test.
