My friend and I have been brainstorming ideas for making some homemade stamps to use in our art journals. She was the one who came up with this wonderful idea and so I let her go ahead with the video. If you come up with some new ideas on what to use on these roller stamps, please share them with us! Great idea for those lint rollers! Funny, I just bought some drywall patch to make stamps with last week! ;) You could create a great scrolly design & make edging for the top of walls, edges of furniture, etc. I used string for stamps asba kid in an art class. Outlining designs, like pictures, would be great too! I did some owlsb& cats as a kid!! Great idea! (I've been using shelf liners too!) Leaves with veins would be great! Live Oak leaves & lavender flower stalks too! :) No limits!

What I use is a paint roller with the size of an empty toilet paper roll onto which I’ve glued the different textures of choice. Obviously the toilet paper rolls are then interchangeable .

I was only able find mini lint rolors at my dollar store, so that's what I am using to make my roller stamp with. I saw you use the broken glass roller on the back to basics video, so, I'm putting your inspiration into practice. I can't wait!

you could also use watered down acrylic paints or watered down tube watercolors to print with

The wire that runs along side the metallic ribbon, can some times be slid out and not cut out. Not always easy to find that particular wire, but I noticed it when it "moved" while wrapping a gift. Haven't tried heating it first, but will try that when the holidays roll around and I can fin the ribbon again.

20:00 in a class I took we made our own stamps by cutting up foam core board or matboard or fun foam into pieces and gluing it onto foam core board, then use a piece of duct tape folded into a handle and stuck on the back if you can understand that. I put a layer of matte medium or something over the stamp to make it last longer. I also use the bottoms of flip flops or the bottoms OF Teva or other sandals to stamp with.

Very cool! In case you don't know this, you can pull the wires right out of cut pieces of wired ribbon. It keeps the ribbon intact (instead of cutting off the edges to remove the wire.) TFS! 😊

Can you please see if this idea works so you don't have to put pieces on roller each time. Could pieces be put on a toilet paper roll, you know, the core? If it doesn't fit, it could be cut straight across so it would go on and off. Would that still roll? Please let me know what you think. I don't have that type of lint roller to try it myself. Thanks. I'm going to watch your next video right now.

Janet Baker we did try the toilet paper roll idea. It's to hard to get the toilet paper roll over the sticky sheets and when we tried just the toilet paper roll on the handle without the sticky sheets, it's too big. I'm going to try one other thing this evening with the toilet paper roll idea.....I'm not quite ready to give up on that idea just yet....lol

I can’t see the roller, how and what you used as the sticky substance. Where do you get the roller from. I’m in Australia, and haven’t seen theses before, thanks.

Maureen Smith the roller was a type of lint roller that had squares of sticky tape on it. I’d just picked it up at the local Dollar Stotre.

wow ty for the teaching i always looking way to have dif things to useon my cards i send out 13 at time to ppl who just need to know someoene carees and i am on disably so not lot money to play with but i love to share and give to oothers soo hank you so much i so be going to dollor tree very soon, may god bless you both ty ty so very much , now not only not are you shareing with you shareing with all who i send cards to .

For me, if I only paid a buck or so for the lint rollers and I like the impression, I would just leave it on the roller. Collect just the best ones....

you can buy wallpaper stamp rollers. I had found some at goodwill once. Iv even made rollers out of some of my sons old toy car tires put on a pencil its fun coming up with ways to reuse items for art. I even save used dryer sheets for texture

relicsong Oohhhh you are a girl after my own heart!!! There's not a thing I toss without seeing if it can be used in ANY way in my studio.....lol. LOVE the idea of the toy car tires.....hmmmmm. And yes, I've used the used dryer sheets,,,,,they make wonderful flowers as well and take to color quite well too. :)
