How can anyone with any mechanical ability not like what this man built. Yes I know he did not invent this type cutter but, he did manage to make his own. He should get at least a thumbs up on his machining . Yet alone it works!
Such a cool machine. To bad we didn't get to see it in action. If the belt slips will the cutting blades hit each other? I experienced something like that on a factory build machine. You should consider a pivot point between the green and yellow part to make it work better in uneven terrain.
The blades do not touch each other, I shorten them. Between them the distance of 2 mm. Mower follows the uneven terrain, it moves freely hinged on tractor. Video mower in action will soon
Dang Dude, KUDOS! That's a lot of engineering and machining! Nice Paint! Already trying to figure out how to improve upon, wider swath, additional cuters, two-ended skid plate, etc. How does water drain from the open standpipe? Cheers!
Excellent work, well done .But let's see it doing the job you built it for !!.I think there may be a small problem , if the belts slip allowing the knives to touch each other
only problem I see is the blades hitting each other when they get out of time(belts WILL slip). A little stagger like a lawn mower deck would prevent that.
That is some crazy looking machinery there man, i am thinking it doesn't work well or the video would be a tad longer with a demo of some sort. LOL The tiny blades are really odd. anyway. ya got me to see this I guess.
Cool concept BUT the belt won't keep blades in time and the cutters will be banging in to each other. Thats why commercial machines use gear drives to the arbors. You'll have to widen them out until the cutter barely miss and set the bar to trail at an angle so it will cut between the cutter heads , or make a timing gear set-up.
awww there there.... it's ok... you're allowed to talk :o) It would probably make the video better if you learned how to say something while doing the videos like even basics of why you're building it
I'm talking about the two blade belt. If it rubs at the crossing point it won't last. I'm not trying to be an ass like so many RU-vid posts, I'm actually trying to help. If the belt rubs, it Will fail!
Bit of a major mistake not leaving enough blade clearance between the discs, not to mention the danger of no cowl, what happens if a blade brakes or a bolt comes off....law suit.
Be careful with those homemade products cause they dont have the safty features as store bought ones do so spend a bit more money on a store bought one and be safe
