Your video saved me days waiting for parts/mechanic as my chainring locknut went loose by itself during riding. I managed to buy all necessary tools on Sunday and fix it xD Spider tool cheap replacement (10-12E) : SUPER-B TB-1060 and many others designed for ISIS 8T system. Thanks for the tip on the crank puller. Never came across a bike that was secured in this way and was puzzled why I couldn't just pull it off. My Bosch CX chainring bolt worked itself loose, this video may have save me a trip to a mechanic. I've seen some discussion online about ISIS bottom bracket spider tools being useful too, you just need a 32mm spanner, found IceToolz version of the tool online for £12. Word of warning to those that don't use a torque wrench, over tightening the nut could damage a speed sensor in the motor.
I had a desperate situation to save a planned Sunday ride and couldn't get hold of a tool or correct size of tube to make one so I thought lets just give the ring a tap with a large flat screwdriver blade and a hammer, (even though it was the original chainring so factory fitted). The lock ring loosened with no effort and barely left a mark on the ring, so.. if desperate, give it a tap.
Well, I installed the largest I could fit but it was wrapping under pressure and scraping on the frame. I ended fitting the original one back due to not much space. The frame could be notched slightly to allow the clearance but it would entail the solidity of of the frame. Not my advice

No but just use a allen key rather than a ratchet spanner as you would have better feel of when to stop when tightening. To be fair, those cranks tend to undo slightly after a while if doing a lot of off road so it need to regularly being checked.The symptoms was a squeaky noise when pushing on the pedal.
