Wow this video was awsome. I needed a throne for my black series Jabba the Hutt but after I watched this I new I wanted to make one.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊💕💕💕
I'm in the process of building a Jabba throne myself. I started it and shared it on Instagram before someone sent me this video. Great work! I also used foam and I glued some cardboard to the underside to make it look like it's levitating. Still trying to decide on the gargoyle/cyclops heads. The Sharpie cap idea was brilliant! Keep up the excellent work! Subbed! 🔥🔥🔥
Another ingenious creative work Ed! Will definitely will make this as my reference of I'm going to make Jabba's throne. Thank you for always sharing your talent and skills to us your viewers! Kudos!
Dude! This vid helped me SO MUCH in deciding to make my own budget Jabba's throne, then I got carried away & made his whole throne room & rancor pit too!! lol I very much appreciate all yr vids for us big kids in Sci-fi land :)
Very nice as always. Would love to see you do something with some stormtroopers, like an imperial base or something or a hangar with the 3.75 figures. You are very creative!
Thanks for watching, yes I have done a hangar display before on my channel. My usual viewers really loved it, it was huge! haha. appreciate the comment as always
Nice job my friend! I made pillows for my Kenner Jabba out of construction paper, they are crude but they work! And another thing I did was (at Walmart) bought a sheet of felt, except it had a 3D print, if you will. In which case it looked like a three-dimensional animal pelt. They had it in a variety of colors as well, anyways, cutting that up made a really good throne mat, or whatever you might call it. I very much like the way you did the pillows and I hope to try that out soon! And for the goblin-like heads on the throne, instead of using caps, you might be able to use one of those skeletons that come stranned together from the dollar store. By simply cutting the heads off and painting them dark grey, you have easy throne ornaments! You might be able to attach the rings through their mouths/jaw bones...
Wow, that's really great!, I wish I can see your throne too. Awesomeee. And fantastic idea with the throne ornaments! Thanks for the comment as always man
Trev!... You did it again!! I got one today(though I'm forced to go without spackle-though when I feel the ease you have, I will add this)and using many ideas from your 3rd novel:"The Tusken Mafia" ,I drenched the display with Elmer's white glue, then using a fine sifter, shook fine grains of South Dakota beach sand over the glue. Let stand, dusted excess…voila! a masterpiece was born . I have to tell ya' Ted(and I KNOW we're all thinking the same thing…)if only Hasbro would wise up, and just hire you, they could eliminate 3-4,000 jobs!!? The people I am able to run down, grab, stop, and make look at my much improved set (when they stop yelling) can't believe it;that's exactly how they put it: "I can't believe this f&*$%@* guy!! , while it sounds to me like…well, honestly, like maybe I overwhelm them;or (with you as my spirit guide) a lot of those comments are coming from an equal amount of jealousy and wonderment. Keep it up Trent!
A Jabba-themed BudgetJedi video!? Sign me up! Excellent work, my friend. Back when I considered tackling this project, my idea for the throne was buying an actual stone block (like something for a garden). The mods for Leia look great, too; much improved. The backdrop seems like a nice display piece.
haha hell yeahhh jabba timeee.. Ohhh that's right I put up pictures of leia mod but on FB not on youtube. Basically I just added some eyeshadow (acrylic) and switched out her skirt with spandex material. WOW an actual stone block would be so EPIC for a diorama. thanks for watching man, I am having so much fun this year watching your vids keep it up pleaseee
Wow, once again... you amazing me!!! Two dio in one video, very nice job Ed! I really like the throne you did. I like how you think to use those marker's tops... genius!!
Thanks Peter yeah luckily I had leftovers and I was able to make that carbonite environment. These are easy to do man, lol marker caps = the lazy way! thanks
Awesome job as usual sir! Looking quite stylish. Always very inventive with your use of easy to acquire cheap materials. I make my pillows the same way using model magic.
Thank you much for watching! The insulation foam is so popular amongst dio makers, and yes, they are so great for building stuff. I gotta look up some model magic, I have never used it before!
I just wanted to thank you for giving me inspiration, i used to do this as a kid then i got spoiled and just bought hasbro stuff worked with what they sold, so today i went to dollar store and grabbed around 30 bucks of crafting stuff, many things i see you using, now i feel like a kid again getting my creativity flowing, thank you! I'm going to start making videos of my collection withing 3 months ! so add me if you want :)
Thnanks for watching and Thanks for the kind words, hell yeah join the club haha! Anyone can do this and nothing makes me happier than when other people join in our star wars community and share their stuff. cheers!
TheBudgetJedi thank you, I also wanted to say, i really love how you did this ,in my opinion it looks better then any store bought one. and those pen caps didn't look to bad either, maybe some copper paint and 2 pin heads for eyes to give it a semi face features? I just bought 3 air tight glass display store counters 5 foot long each fully lighted I want to build a full jabbas palace with droid factory everything in one of them , then endor ewok village (got 5 vintage ewok villages) to put in another, as for the 3rd i want to do hoth but my new vintage series AT AT's might be to tall for it.so i might do death star instead.so any tips would be great!
i am actually on the process of starting a second channel, that will focus on my Star Wars collection, i will keep you posted. keep up the great videos sir!!
Hey Great job, I'm gonna go out today with my kids and get the supplies to make this. Been getting into the 6" black series figures and also bought a few things on eBay, like the Han Solo carbonite reproduction by vaderpainters. They also sell the Jabba repro throne mounts too? Thanks again! Love the diorama! Great advice to build!
Cookiin! nice to see ya! haha this must be right up your alley with the 6" scale ! Ah nothing I do is ever that complicated or requires great skill. It's just me geekin out! thanks for stopping by! :D
Great work Ed! Darn shame Hasbro copped out in the first place by not even giving the SDCC exclusive version all the accessories it deserves, leaving it once again up to the fans to do their work for them. (Seems like more and more a reoccurence with Hasbro isn't it :D ) Anyway it looks fantastic and, as always, without blowing up the budget. Keep up the superb goodness my friend! MTFBWY
you got a very creative mind.it's amazing how you do that stuff like it's nothing.i wish i was that creative.the throne piece is great it looks so real.beautiful and well made.big thumbs up!
Wow Jabba must have got a minimalist designer to work on this throne. the pen caps work with this nicely. I know sometime after the 6 inchers were announced, some guy started working on his own 6 inch scale jabba, and also made the throne to go with him. I remember that he used the gargoyle heads from the Kenner throne, and since they where oversized, they were nearly perfect scale for the 6 inch. I have the regular jabba on order, and I thought about making the throne (and perhaps the railing and pipe). Didint think about foam but maybe i'll go that way. Great job E. haha I find it a funny coincidence that the cardboard master was not satisfied with a cardboard throne by hasbro. says a lot of what hasbro has been putting out.
haha pen caps work nicely - thanks for being gentle. one day I'll replace those with more accurate ones i hope. Gargoyle heads would be so damn perfect with this! Oh man, Oola = must have. thanks for the comment and watching as always E. Please man, when are you going to get on FB to say hi to me dammit
that looks really good! the throne is very nice! i think i would of made the walls darker for Han,just my taste but its really great! u got a knack man! :)
Thanks Bobcat man nice to see your comment as always! Yes, that's a great idea, it's always weird to look at these things in the sunlight when they are supposed to be in a dark room. I really must play around with it more.
Brilliant Mate! I think your modesty always catches me, for the record your a superb diorama creator...........fact. No wonder your going to need a big box, can't wait to receive my 'ready made' diorama! ;@) lol Cheers, Fuzz.
hahaha. Nice that you notice the size, it's gonna be a pain trying to make that box strong as heck. but I'll get it done. Just waiting for "whitey"! lol. thanks so much for the kind words and your support my friend!
youtube recommended I watch this--LOL--this never showed up in my sub feed---seems like I remember someone saying they where passing on the 6 inch line --who was that?--hahaha---man you are a champ--this really looks great and the carbonite really sets the whole thing off too---I have a few ideas swirling around in my head for a dio--but I just can't seem to find the time anymore---thanks for sharing my friend
lol. yeah you know i gots to pick me up my exclusives always. I'm being very picky on the 6 inch line, but I suppose I'm picking up a lot of the OT characters. Yeah man I totally hear you, you're handling a battalion of live savers and two young ones on top of that, i'm surprised you're even commenting! Thanks for making the time man, great to see ya
If you could make a video showing how you customized the Princess Leia figure , that would be great because I really like the way you show us how to make these . If you do that would be great if you don't it's ok , keep up the great videos :)
Looks awesome...I like it looks better than the box!!maybe you could use the background part of the box to make it "pop" a little more your wall looks better than the slot that the box came with..you think with what Hasbro is charging for these they would give you your moneys worth..any way nice work!!
yeah for sure, like i said in the vid I'll definitely take that background and use it. Great idea. thanks so much for watching and the nice comment as always
Once again a fantastic job ed . Simple yet so effective. You are filled with so many creative ideas! And the leia looks good. Would like to know how you pulled that off
Thanks bud, I did post up some pics of Leia before, on FB but I'll have to find them again if I can, and forward to you. Did you get your 6" Jabba yet? thanks for the comment as always, hoping i can make it to chat with you and logan one of these days
Amazing what you can make with simple things around house. I 'm thinking those pillows with each figure on them would leave impressions of some sort. So if those are to be the figures used, and each given their own assigned pillows (sort of speak), maybe make that pillow with an already impressions so that when each figure is placed on their pillow, it will look as if they made that impression. Might fit better (they are on soft pillows right)? lol A few soft glowing LED's behind the floating stone, maybe a couple underneath it too, shinning upwards. Not only giving an powered levitation look and also placing a glowing color on the stones face.
Yeah for sure, that's a great idea man. If i ever have extra clay i'll do that. But I'm not sure if I want oola in there someday or what lol. Oh for sure, shining light will work great, genius as always man. that'd work if I had a background wall made, how awesome would that be! Thanks for the awesome ideas as always, and checking in!
Also IF hasbro had been on top of their game, They should have made crumb an accessory to leia, and packed oola into the SDCC jabba. Damn a plastic throne. I would have shot for this pack had they included oola.
+Jon Frace no, I don't take requests but that's one diorama that I would looove to do some day. If you look at maddwoba channel he did one a while back. check it out!
Im a huge fan you were a huge influence and inspiration for me to get my own prop/diorama channel going i am wondering if you can give the the exact measurement of the throne
I think you did a great job mate :) To be really picky, the 4 pieces in the front should be at the same distance one another, apart from that it looks good.
I loved your video. I am new to Dios and wanted to attempt this and I so I did. I have one question. How did your cuts look so clean? I have tried twice and they still look very jagged were it breaks apart.
No problem . Your video's extremely helpful and crafty . I'm glad I subscribed . I've been meaning to work on some custom back drops for my own videos , and displays .

cool vid man great job I only have one question how come you haven't made any clone war era dioramas? is it just your not a fan of that particular era or is it just easier to make original trilogy dioramas if that makes any sense
Thanks for watching bud! Yes, I am a huge fan of the OT, but primarily I just don't have many clone wars figures. Usually clone wars diorama involve a lot of army building, so that's not something I have to play with that's all. This whole channel is just a video diary of me playing with what I do have, hope that explains it for you ! thanks for the comment
Do you take request for dioramas cause I'm working on the Luke darth vader fight scene where Luke loses his hand and I'm looking for a good refrence to work off of
I can tell your no handyman & you shown “average joes” how to make a awesome throne with cheap stuff &”can do attitude. Good job kid! Great Idea for gargoyles head. But for those more ambitious I’m sure ud create mold. Im paralyzed f. I know these. Kenner or hasbro thrones are ridiculously priced. But thhere are cheaper & amazing customs. On line.
