Join me and my sweet 8 year old as we make homemade toothpaste.
Hi I am Mommabear2many many! Mom to 14 children 12 of my children still live here at home. We have a baby due in October! Join me in my day to day life as we prepare enough food to feed a small army! We will grow and harvest food on our homestead and do grocery hauls. Just our lives as a large family trying to live for the glory of God! Won’t you join us?

Very in interesting. For years, we used baking soda, fine sea salt, coconut oil and food grade peppermint oil and a drop of two of clove oil ❤

Thanks for sharing! I’ve just used baking soda before as well but prefer this if I have the ingredients. Commercial toothpaste is getting so expensive!

I make my own mouth rinse with water, peppermint oil and tea tree oil. I cup water, 10 drops peppermint oil, and 6 drops tea tree oil. ❤

A squirter of rubbing alcohol will take the ink off the lids. Let it set for a few seconds before you wipe it off

Well I did a quick 5 minute Google into home made tooth powders and was quite shocked! Fluoride Is added to our tap water over here and also when you go to the dentist they quite often put a yellow paste on children’s teeth which is a fluoride paste. My daughter hates it and when she reached a certain age I said if you don’t want it then say you don’t want it he can’t do it without your consent and I will support you. I never realised some of the studies into fluoride had flagged up what they had! Very interesting and thank you for bringing it to light xxx

Yes you can refuse the fluoride paste at the dentist. Yes they do put it in water as well. You can get a berky with a fluoride filter if you are on city water.

@@mommabear2many I let her choose whatever she wants to do when it comes to her body. We have discussions we research things so she has the right information and can make an informed decision herself and she knows her dad and I will always back her to make sure her little voice gets heard loudly! Well especially me, I’m a very outgoing and stubborn person so if I’m not happy about something people know about it. If I’m wrong I’m more than happy to be educated about something so I can correct my beliefs. I also think we’re all entitled to think, believe and live how we want to so long as we’re not causing harm to others even if others don’t think the same as me I’ll still respect their personal choice. I think the world would be a much kinder place if we all accepted people for how they are and treat them with kindness and respect!

@@kelly-annejenner486 yes we are the same as they get older here are your options. I like them to know they do have options and don’t always have to say yes to medical staff. It is there body their decisions. As regards to anything I encourage making well informed decisions. Even if it’s not the same as my own.

How precious to do this with your daughter! I supervised my grandchildren making dill pickles yesterday. I had 11 of them here from two families! Tiring but so worth the memories and the time spent together! I just watched your shampoo bar video and now this one and the great part is I already have all the supplies! Blessings!

Another great video. One of these days I’ll try this. Do you use the aluminum free baking soda. I have planned on buying some, but now bake so little that I don’t know if it’s worth it unless I did more baking. The concentration of aluminum is probably minute. Buy it I used it for toothpaste I probably would use aluminum free. I’m thinking a ketchup squeeze bottles like they use in restaurants would be great so everyone doesn’t have to dip the toothbrushes in the same container - especially if there’s sickness. Maybe Ketchuo for adults and mustard for kids. How much did this cost to make? I’m excited that you’re getting closer to 6,000 subscriptions!

Yes we use aluminum free baking soda and powder. As well as deodorant and personal care.

@@mommabear2many I agree aluminum free is best especially if you do a lot of baking. I reread what I wrote about the aluminum being minute. I’d like to clarify that I didn’t mean it is minute enough not to be harmful. It definitely is harmful if you do a lot of baking. I think you are wise. In my case I use a tablespoon in baking about every couple months so the amount I use is minute. I also believe in deodorant without aluminum as well. Epsom salt also works and many people use Milk of magnesium.l for deodorant. I also have stopped using aluminum pans.

oh my gosh, you're like me, I have bags of used lids, I just use rubbing alcohol to get the writing off, and then I reuse them for something other than canning, like if I have to vacuum seal something or making homemade cough syrup, etc. I hate wasting lids😅. Great recipe! Thanks for another great video!

@@mommabear2many I'm asking because coconut oil solidifies and I was wondering if it clogs your pipes or is it just not enough to be concerned about it? I am planning on making some as we are in the process of elimination toxins and I want to make my own products. Thank you for sharing this video!

With all the ingredients involved and the ugly look of the toothpaste, give me Colgate or Crest. Interesting video on how to make the toothpaste, but we have moved on beyond the need to make your own.

@@mommabear2many so far have not heard of anyone perishing from using commercial toothpaste, but certainly your choice to make your own. It is not free to buy the ingredients and a long time making this. To each his own. Although nice that your children are so helpful and work together so well, it seems like they are like hired hand. They are made to work so hard. Watch Ozark Family. The children help and work together, but they have fun and do not live like the dark ages.

@@charlottehyman8146 Janice is a sweetheart. We can each do our own because I make toothpaste and maybe she doesn’t doesn’t mean we live in the dark ages. Actually we are very similar in a lot of what we do. Apparently you don’t watch any of our Large family adventures or field trips.
