There are easier ways to make a welding press.. just for those who didnt know take jumper cables and connect the one side to a power source as if you were going to jump another car. Now take the negative wire and attach it to whatever your trying to weld. Then take a welding rod and the positive cable and touch what your tryinf to weld note negative must be attached to part fornrhe positive to create the arc forbthe weld. Its crude i wouldnt recommend it for fine welds but if its an emergency and you gotta get it done it will work. Dad welded a crank to a shaft for our water well pump once so we could use the pto on the tractor.
