A friend of mine called me and asked if I'd like to take care of an overgrown property for him. He said he got a call from the HOA stating that it needs to be serviced. Due to the homeowner being unresponsive for a very long time, the HOA had to find a contractor to come clean up this home. Seemed like the homeowner just abandoned & ruined their property.
When I showed up to the property, everything and anything that was trying to grow there was completely dead and dry. Nothing there has seen any water for months. Due to the amount of tape from papers on the front door, it seemed like wasn't the first time the HOA has had to deal with this mystery homeowner.

Complete abandonment and leaving all their stuff behind like makes my mind think the worst especially with kids. Wherever they are, I hope they are OK. Servicing that house would creep me out too. Thank you for saving the praying mantis'. They are beautiful.

I don’t understand why the neighbors would let this yard look like this. Whenever there are houses in my neighborhood sitting empty I will mow it till new owners take over. You do an awesome job on these places.

I'm always sad when I see abandoned houses. They should be filled with families making memories and having fun. I wonder what happened to the owners. You did a great job with this dead yard. Hopefully someone will move in and bring it back to life. The neighborhood looks very nice. Good yard for kids and pets.

@@helenfitch3440 Home Owners Organization..I think. Its often a gated community of homeowners. The organization is supposed to ensure that properties are maintained, etc. Some have become mini police force within the community. Checking security, noise problems etc. This is from the perspective of someone who has never lived in one or has known anyone who has. . . All heresay lol

I can NEVER understand why anyone in their right mind would subject themselves to an HOA! It's your property. THEY don't help pay the mortgage or insurance on it but yet they treat it as if they own it. That's why I live out in the county.

An HOA has the authority to TAKE AWAY the house! That would be a real shame if they are in the Hospital on lockdown, with Covid. The kids are probably at Grandma's house. What a shame! If they get out soon, now that the place is cleaned up, they may be able to SELL it! Looks like a nice neighborhood. Loved you showing us the praying Mantises!

We had a renter that just up and left and left all their furniture, clothes ( they had 3 kids), toys . I knew they couldn't afford to leave all that , they were behind on rent, and didnt want to give it away or take it to the dump. The wife grew up as our neighbor so I talked to her mom and they finally came and got their stuff and cleaned up the house. We never did get the back rent , even though there was ajudgenent against them because they quickly moved to another state.

I'm guessing worst case scenario is witness protection program. They'll move an entire family in the middle of dinner leaving every belonging they have and start em under a new identity every time so the old name they were underneath is just a ghost.

If the neighbors complained, why did they not get together and mow the front and side yards. They must be from out of state. Neighbors are not friendly anymore. I am stunned at the number of abandoned properties in the USA. Some homes are past their use by date but most are in good condition. We are told about the city sending out violation notices, if there is no response what happens? I know, it’s left up to wonderful human beings who care, Fill like you. That's exactly what I thought. We had a neighbor pass in his home. Cops wouldn't do a welfare check for neighbors. They waited til family contacted them. That was 5 months later.

Kolem domu bylo mnoho různých věcí a odpadu. Jenom s tím jste měl mnoho práce. Vy si ale víte se vším rady. Tak i tady jste majitelům odevzdal pozemek moc hezký upravený a s radostí, že se vám žádný z pracovních nástrojů nerozbil třeba o ty kameny. Také jsem si všimla, že okolní pozemky mají ještě hezky zelenou trávu o kterou bylo určitě lépe postaráno. Děkuji vám moc a ať je každý váš den prosycen sluncem. 👍👍👍👏🌿

I would think the easiest way to find the owner is contact the lender. They either have current info or will foreclose on the house.

It was probably repossessed. When a property is repossessed they have to walk off and leave everything. At least in Texas it’s That way. I have helped my daughter clean up a house and property after it was repossessed and it makes you cry. Baby stuff, children’s clothes and toys. She’s a realtor and broker so she has been broken-hearted many times seeing this happen. God bless the family that lived here. I hope all is well with them

Really gotta wonder what the issue is. You'd think it would be financed & the bank would have taken ownership & notified the HOA by now. HOA's require a bit of personal/financial info. It's odd that "no one knows" what's going on there. It's sad how homes die when they are left by their humans.

Just an idea - keep twist ties or cheap zip strips handy so when you find loose wires - like you did at the side of the garage - you can loop them and fasten them - even fasten them to a pipe, fence, whatever to keep them off the ground and out of your way (as long as they're not live electric wires, of course, but then you'd be calling the electric company or the HOA for that problem).

They could to see who has defaulted, or ask local letting agents, talk to more than the immediate neighbours or US postal service. But look forward to more videos. 👏👏
