Not only did the homeowner save the community the cost of prosecution of two criminals but he also spared others from becoming the future victims of these thugs. Thank you.

Believe it or not judges hands are tied they have to follow the law that is written when they change the written law on offenders then the judges will be able to sentence these criminals to Justice. Don't blame law enforcement don't blame the judges you want change get involved and fight to change the laws
I bet when the neighbor heard the shots, he grabbed his gun and rushed towards his neighbor (the victim)'s house for help and then he saw an armed injured robber running out of the house, so he held him on gun point immediately. That's the kind of neighbor I would love to have around! Kudos to that neighbor and the homeowner, both are heroes!
I DO have neighbors like that, it comes from being a "neighbor" not just that axxhole next door. If you aren't willing to back them up when they need help why would you expect them to cover your six?

I think he might have mis-cited the Second Amendment though, I don't believe the Second Amendment says you can "protect yourself and your home". The victim used his Second Amendment rights _to_ defend themself and their home. Maybe that's splitting hairs but I think an important distinction.

@@spacewolfjr Here in Mississippi you will not be prosecuted for using deadly force to protect yourself, your family, a complete stranger or your property. You don' need a permit to carry concealed as this is a constitutional carry state. You have no duty to retreat from somewhere where you lawfully have a right to be. If you kick doors in here you need to really reflect and think about it. There is an extremely high likely hood there is a gun waiting on you on the other side. When it happens they clean up the mess file the paperwork and call it a day

Ahh. I love these feel good stories. That poor homeowner will have to live with that for the rest of his life. Imagine only killing 2 out of the three instead of getting them all. That will haunt that poor guy.
The carpet/flooring needs to be replaced as it is a bio-hazard. You do not know if they had any bloodborn pathogens. Not only that, but insurance will likely pickup the tab.

Seems like a high risk, high reward kinda situation to try and rob a gun enthusiast of his weapons. Probably like 90% risk and 10% reward though, at best.
We should NEVER view these stories as a " feel good " story. Even though a criminal was killed, we were forced to take a life. We as decent people are fortunate to survive but still we had to take someone out. But don't fail to protect your self and family if you ever have to do it again.

Many people think they only need to carry a gun when they are away from home. ALWAYS be armed means: ALWATS be armed, including at home. Otherwise, it is like planning to put on your seat belt just before the car accident.

An upper NY citizen was arrested for using a firearm not registered to himself to fight intruders. It was his deceased fathers' gun, still in the home. Other end of spectrum : I do enjoy the sheriffs reporting of proper 2nd A. actions by citizens of Florida.
Same in Canada. I think the expectation over here is to let them in, watch them take whatever they want, stab or shoot you, rough up your gramma and kill your dog. Don’t make it worse on yourself by defending yourself and your loved ones. Texas, I like your style.

Actually, yes. The rules can be a little complicated, but the policy should cover the damage done from the physical break in. Assuming he of course has the right type of policy. If he has a fire policy, which is for suckers, then he's hosed. Though I doubt anyone in Florida has a fire policy. That would be insane
It's a sad thing when any life is lost but, given the life choices that that those two made, it's not a sad thing that they will never again be able to commit crimes and violence against others.
I like the fact that when he had shot two and his weapon had a stoppage that he went to get his other gun! I don't know who wrote "Rules for a Gunfight" but, they state:- 1. Bring a gun, preferably bring at least two guns. Bring all your friends with guns. He had two and his friend was the guy next door with his gun. Good effort, well done.
Way2go Pasco County Sheriff's, and to this guy and his neighbor that held the other guy. That's how Justice should work and how neighbors should look out for each other. If I knew the home owner was a gun collector, but went there to steal said guns, I think my chances of being killed would be higher than the risk was worth. I dunno..what say you?
He was identified as Jeremiah Tramel, 19, and was still in a hospital on Friday, according to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office. The two intruders who were killed were Luis Casado and Khyle Durham, both 21.
Another Happy Ending Story!! The only tragedies that occurred was that the Victim’s gun jammed and the third suspect was able to run out scared like the coward he is. May all Americans protect themselves,families,and homes as did this brave victim
@@pettersaethre That guy is responsible for those deaths. He made the decision to commit a felony by invading this person's home and his buddies were killed because of it. You can't blame the homeowner for protecting himself but if those three hadn't decided to rob another person's house they'd still be alive.
@AK6 Not any crime, just felonies. If the gas station attendant blows someone away for stealing a coke then the attendant would be charged with murder.
