Well now i know not to buy a house anywhere near government owned water tanks. And apparently it doesn't matter if there's a Republican or Democrat in the governors chair.
Even if it was government, why should they have the right to destroy people's property without compensating the owners? We need to get rid of government immunity.
I think they have a case for sure, but do they have the money to fight them? Governmental functions If the city is performing a function that a private company could also do, such as running a bus service, the city may not be protected by sovereign immunity. Governmental actions If the city's actions caused the flood, such as road work, the doctrine of sovereign immunity may not apply.
I’ll bet the water tank was there before the homes were built. If so, why were the developers allowed to build homes there? This is a problem all over… developers are given permits to build homes for profit in areas where they shouldn’t and the homeowners are left paying the price when the inevitable happens.
IMO Governmental immunity, civil asset forfeiture, and the fact that the sheriff and police department depend on citations for income are problems that most people are not discussing
Not that I care one way or the other, but technically this is the county not the state, which is led by Lina Hidalgo. Not saying it's her fault, I'm just saying she is very much an openly liberal politician.
@@safeandeffectivelol when you build something or you give money, whatever you do you make yourself responsible. Those people put down on homes that they thought were safe.. They should not be obligated to fix with the city or whatever department did not do correctly..
