2. Bodleian Library, MS. Gr. class. e. 44 (P)
3. Bodleian Library, MS. Gr. class. f. 74 (P)

medieval.bodle...
This papyrus, the ‘Hawara Homer’, dating from the second century A.D., contains part of Iliad Book It is noteworthy for the use of marginal signs invented by Alexandrian scholars to indicate lines that should be deleted or were thought to raise other points of interest.
5. Bodleian Library, MS. Auct. V. 1. 51. (late 10th cent.), parchment.
medieval.bodle...
The Homeric poems retained their place in the school curriculum, but linguistic changes posed an increasingly difficult problem for the pu-pils. This MS, probably written at the turn of the tenth and eleventh centuries, is a glossary for readers of the Odyssey. It is far from certain that the average pupil could afford such a book, and this one probably belonged to a relatively well-off schoolmaster.
6. Bodleian Library, MS. Auct. T. 2. 7 (12th cent.), parchment.
medieval.bodle...
A copy of the Iliad, probably from the early twelfth century, with ex-tensive marginalia, mostly paraphrase. The script is rather cursive.
7. Bodleian Library, MS. Laud gr. 54 (early 15th cent.), paper.
medieval.bodle...
This copy of the Iliad from the early fifteenth century contains Books 1-2 only. The limited content could be regarded as a sign of drastic reduction of the curriculum, of which there is other evidence.
8. Bodleian Library, MS. Canonici gr. 43 (16th cent.), paper.
medieval.bodle...
This is a 16th-century copy of Iliad Books 1-10. Though the text had been printed in Florence in 1488 and by Aldus in 1504 hand-written copies continued to be produced.
9. Bodleian Library, MS. Canonici gr. 79 (early 16th cent.), paper.

This miscellany includes the Ilias Latina. It was probably produced in the second half of the twelfth century, perhaps at Winchester or Sher-borne.
