Eh, it's hard to miss that Homer has seemingly had multiple lifelong dreams. Stuff like Just Stamp The Ticket Man or Springfield's State is far likely to get by you unnoticed.
@JoeRingo118 "Mostly functional" I'd say the only reason the marriage kept going on was because of Marge's inexplicable patience, besides Homer is shown to semi hate his children most of the time, even if he comes off as a loving parent at times.
homer loves his family and tries his best (well before they ruined his character) which marge values above any of his flaws so their marriage does kinda make sense
@@micravinxenos3047he’s not a great husband, but at the bare minimum he DOES support her and occasionally consults her for advice (even if he doesn’t take the advice.) He’s better than any of Seth’s Tv dads.
@Matthew Anthony I disagree, L Ron Hubbard was a Naval captain, a Sci-Fi author, America's first Eagle scout, a special officer for the LAPD, a musician and a founder of a major religion. I'd say he did as much as Homer in his life.
There is something quite blissful about how simple Homer's dreams are, that he will likely die happy, because he achieved so many things he considered his life long dream. Plus, it's not nebulous or lofty aspirations, it's simple things and he seems to always accomplish them.
@@wardenunknown He got the 1996 Denver Bronco's instead. Considering they won the next two Super Bowls after the end of that season, arguably he got an upgrade.
I wonder if they got the idea of Homer going to clown college from the previous season’s episode where Homer tells the family that he’s going to college, and Bart replies “College? Ha! Barber or clown?”
Homer’s done more things in his life than probably anyone in the history of the world ever has. I’m sure this is largely due to the fact that he’s been on a TV show for 40 years in which he never ages.
@@crescentfreshbret that sounds great except he would be in his 70s or 80s and the average person would have at least doubled this guys count for the amount of money he has, because don’t forget homer only shows one episode of his life every week.
It doesn't, he's already done everything he ever had to in his lifetime just like the series has. All that's left now is to end it with an episode written by Conan O'Brien.
Well, his daughter will be president and son the cheif justice of the Supreme Court. So if they end injustice and crime. Then his life life long dream will be complete.
Anyone else wanted to see a full episode of them going to The bowlers hall of fame to see the car that looked like a giant bowling pin, i just love how happy Homer looks and Marge looks so drained and so done with his shit I think it would have have made for a hilarious episode.
I. Just. Love. The obscure reference at 1:05, to “Walden”. Thoreau lived in the woods “off the grid” but still had his mom doing laundry for him cause he was above such things! 😂 what a beautiful jab!
@@tristansanchez2875 There was that one episode where Hank Scorpio conquered the east coast and made Homer owner of the New York Giants if I remember correctly.
I wish they had done like, ten more jokes in this format. Homer: My lifelong dream has always been X. Marge: No, your lifelong dream was Y, and you did it Z, remember? *cue flashback*
No, primarily because the rotten hoagie was from a company picnic, not a county fair, and secondarily because that episode came after this one. I know, you're as disappointed as I am.
It’s been my lifelong dream to watch a long animated series like Pokémon, Your lifelong dream of watching a long animated series was The Simpsons and you watched them since 1989 remember?
And theres a good lesson about following your dreams it's not just about how to attain, its who you need and who you dont to achieve it and the truth that then stands clear and present.
