Only watched up to the amazing garden of the first property with its butterflies, and presumed bees, other insects, spiders, birdlife, small mammals... Feeling rather tense waiting for the words: "building plot". And these words were said and my heart sank. With Britain being so low in global rankings for biodiversity you'd think that there would be stricter laws against grubbing up gardens. Can't have a dormer if it ruins the roofline but you can destroy nature willy nilly. Some strange sense of priorities somewhere. There's also the increased risks of flash flooding because front gardens are increasingly being tarmacked over. Oh my word! Skipped to the "after" part. What was teeming with wildlife is now pretty much a barren desert. A shame he couldn't appreciate the greenery of this country as much as the bricks and mortar... I can't watch any more of this.
Because this English obsession with "original features" is weird. Fireplaces are usually ugly and pointless, as we have things called radiators these days, and they take up a wall unnecessarily.
