I really like the way that Abeka sets up their English curriculum. I have the older workbooks. However, they utilized a lot of facts, famous sayings, and so forth. Therefore, students were learning geography and history while improving their English skills.

Such a great walk through. We are still waiting for my daughters books to come in so this is great for me to see what we will be getting. Love the way it’s broken down in the grammar book. I look forward to your organization video for the curriculum cause I’m at a loss for how I am going to organize for this coming school year.
Hey Linda. I’m so happy you enjoyed it. I forget to mention that this year they will have 5 book Reports throughout the year. And out of the 5 they will have 1 oral report. Also they have a research paper that is worked on throughout the year. Abeka has done a great job at the breakdown of everything. Well at least it looks that way from just looking through it. ☺️ Oh man! I’m not exactly sure how we are organizing it. I feel like there won’t be to much to organize. The 7th graders just might be at an age where they have to grab what is called for and just turn to the pages when instructed by the video teacher. My sis and I will be going over curriculum to see if there’s a better way. I will definitely keep you all updated for sure. Have a beautiful Sunday.

I wouldn’t refer to the blue highlighted area as “cheat sheet”. It’s instruction. That’s something that I appreciate about the curriculum. We recently tried a popular new curriculum and our main issue was the lack of instruction. I really enjoy your flip throughs and reviews! Thanks!

Hi! Have you done an end of year recap video for this yet? My upcoming 7th grader will being switching from TGATB LA to Abeka so I’m a little anxious about how this will go….
MW it is always nerve wrecking when changing curriculum. It will be a transition because the 2 ways of teaching are very different. The worst thing that happens is it doesn’t work. It will be ok. Pray about it, that always seems to help me. Jesus has a way with that! 💕🙏 I will pray for you guys to have a successful year no matter what.
Hi Patricia. So if you are looking for the video instruction you can purchase the English 7 Video instruction just make sure you choose the one with the video and books. With the Video led, it is all done by a teacher on dvds or streaming (your choice). That kit would also come with student books and your teacher keys. It will not come with a lesson plan book. It will come with a video manual which basically tells you what the teacher will be working on and what your child will need for that day. If you want to be parent led. You will want to purchase the Student kit. It would be up to you if you would want the parent kit. For myself, if I chose to be Parent led, I would definitely purchase the Parent kit. It comes with everything you need. From the lesson plan book to all of the teacher keys. I hope this is helpful!
