Great video! Helpful to hear about you going into light mode, and going with what works for your family. Needed to hear this. ty

Thank you for sharing! We do a light term 3 too with gardening season here. Once summer comes we may add in more fun things like handicrafts, but right now I want to get readings done and get outside. I am so curious what books you love from Ambleside. We have only ever used the CMEC so I don’t have experience with Ambleside.

I will need to put a video together about those AO books! I always browse the AO booklist- mostly to see what books I already own that I can reuse for my younger children!

I am doing the CMEC next year and I’m extremely overwhelmed. I’ve already decided to drop some things and I’m still trying to decided if I want to combine my children. Tough decisions

I’m going to go through the summer planning course. It really helped me last year figure out which things to drop and which things to combine. I’m gonna do a video about combining ages and grades. And remember the work that we’re doing in planning and dropping books and combining it’s good for us it’s good work. Because we start to think through what we want our Homeschool to look like. Be encouraged we got this.

What forms are your kids in? We are starting with the CMEC next year and I’ll have two students in 1B. I’m slightly overwhelmed, but I have created a timetable to finish out this school year of Kindergarten, and that has helped me not feel quite so overwhelmed. I think it will help get myself and my children into the habit of following the time blocks next year. I am wanting to just get things prepped as early as possible so during the terms it will be easier to switch things if needed. I’m already starting to do pre-reading. And I’m also willing to let things go if absolutely necessary. I’m currently reading A Philosophy of Education by Charlotte Mason and that is really giving me the motivation to give my kids a broad, and rich education.

@@carriecondon6342 I’m going to have a 2B and 1A lower and then I have a 3yo and baby. It’s just a lot and to try to do it in the allotted time gives me anxiety

@@oliviam1807 It is definitely a lot of stuff. Im sure you could combine yours for literature, geography, and history. Especially if you have not read the books that are listed. We may not get into foreign language until the 2nd or 3rd term, I’m not sure. We also won’t start with musical instruments. It has helped me to think about how I am learning this all along side my children. The composer and artist study, art, nature study. These are all things I have realized I lacked in my education. Even history and geography I am finding their books interesting. So I’m praying that I can maintain this student mindset throughout the school year. Which state are you in? There are some groups that may be helpful to be in a community with others doing the same curriculum!

I have kids in Forms 1, 2, 3, and 4! I was also overwhelmed yesterday! But I am starting with the family work and the youngest kids and will work out from there! Have you gone through the summer planning course yet? That's been helpful!
