I'm sitting next to my elderly, dying mom, who is on morphine and will likely pass today, the woman who used to drive me to my guitar lessons when I was 12 years old. I've been playing soothing music for her for the last 24 hours, and then I click on this. Thank you, Tom, or such a beautiful, heartfelt piece of music and the comfort you've given to an elderly woman and her son.
I just went through the exact same thing the second week of April. Wish you the best while you navigate through this tough time. In the end, she will be in a much better place and no longer in pain. Good luck brother.
That's sad, man, I fear I'll be in that boat not too far in the future. "Lord, just give me one more bar with her." My deepest sympathies for you. All the best 😢
If the world ends tonight, I'll rest easy knowing Uncle Larry birthed "Nunchuck Sunset" before it all went to hell. What a perfectly rendered series of vibrations, and a most satisfying journey. Thank you, Tom.
B&W is so cool .. you can really see the wear spots on the fingerboard. How you come up with this gorgeous stuff off the top of your head is amazing. Those little subtle bends .. oh, man.
I started watching in the Corona Lessons days, and I’ve probably only made 5 comments on RU-vid in my entire life, but 2 of them were to you (the other was about Chris Whitley). But the 1-2 punch of these last bonus jams made my fillings vibrate with a melancholy joy I can’t describe. I’m just glad God saw fit to connect your brain, heart, soul, and fingers in a way that makes magic like this. Many thanks, Uncle Larry.
Hey Uncle Larry! Thanks to infinity for more sweet notes and words of wisdom! I think I speak for a few more than myself when I say love to you and yours.
It's nice to know, in this crazy, divided world we all live in, there is this to bring us together... I've listed to this 3 times now. I will listen numerous more times today and tomorrow and the next day... Thank you!!!
Tom, these black and whites are perfect for these inspired songs you're putting on here.. It's more about the music in black n white and these last 2 have been incredible to the ears! These need no more accompaniment than what you are playing, space is a beautiful thing.. Thanks for the last one, it is now linked on my brothers obituary and is now marked forever. One might think that you lost someone with that piece? I can't thank you enough Tom.
PS. Remember how you got an unexpected wave of emotion, even choking up, in your last vid. You just did that to me dude. It feels good to feel. Thank you Bro
Very soothing, Unk. Gives me some Peace as we transition to the next Homeskoolin studio. Can’t wait to see what’s next. Thanks for keepin it real and free.
Oh Uncle Larry, between last night's masterpiece, and this, I would give just about anything to hear even a tenth of music that swims around your heart and mind. Your music always goes straight to the heart. Thanks once again.
Hey Tom ! love your playing, been a fan since episode 1 back in the Rona days...Question , when you play different guitars, 335, Tele or Start through your Princeton, do you change the EQ on the amp for the different guitars or leave the amp settings alone and make adjustments with tone and volume on guitar or EQ on pedals ? Thanks again for all the time you've given to the guitar community !
I was on a painting crew once and the customer wanted a special stain color mixed for the wood. We threw a bunch of random colors together and labeled the color and the bucket "Tequila Sunrise Regrets".
That little downward bend inside of that D9 chord at 0:20.... that was tight bro. I think you're finally ready for the Uncle Larry vs. Buckethead Death Match.
Bro! What is going on in your soul lately? The past few instrumentals have been laden with emotions. Since day 1 your playing is deep, but something is different lately. THANKS BUK!!!
Man I love seeing the wear on the fret board from the 3rd fret up. It belonged to a CHORD PLAYER. Most guitars are worn the first 3 fret on the board . Its had years of player mojo for sure
Hey Uncle Larry, just want to wish you and your boys an easy move into the new abode. When you left the garage I missed it dearly, but then I fell in love with the kitchen. I know I'll miss the kitchen for a bit, but I can't wait to see our new klassroom. I am sure it will become like home for us Homeskoolers! So, when's the pool party?
I can imagine lookin at someone sitting on the curb after loosing their wad at the dog or horse races (their inner monolog is asking how they could do this again, this time was supposed to be different). They're a lil distraught... People are ignoring him in the hustle and bustle of their own lives. Literally don't know where that came from but it happens... some times... thanks for sharing. We should nick name you the Milk Man... cause you always deliver... 🤘🏻❤
