A not so brief discussion about bending and a couple tunes you can learn if you’re muy bored.
Thank you guys so much for the flood of positive feedback about the Trip The Witch record….it means the world to Dean and myself.
Stay tuned for a my solo record which is coming VERY soon….in two formats…one with my annoying solos, and one with space for YOUR annoying solos.
You guys are awesome, thanks for the continued support….and to the 11 people who religiously watch every video i put up and still thumbs down it, suck a dick.

Hey Tom, as an “investor” in Homeskoolin since the initial IPO, I’d like to say my ROI has been miraculous. I’ve donated to some good causes, bought a few cool t-shirts and tipped a few rolling rocks at ya. In return I’ve gotten to see an amazingly talented musician spill his guts and knowledge on being a Sessionman, a dad, a kid growing up in Cleveland, and a guitar connoisseur who lets loose the tricks of the trade to those of us who have been mystified by aspects of the instrument and how to express ourselves on it. New record is killer, just keep doing what you do. Cheers.

Holy moly! What a great episode. I laughed, I cried, it was better than CATS! Planet TD1 is one of my favorite songs on the Trip the Witch album! Thank you for showing how to play it. That song tears at my heart strings, makes me feel like I’ve lost a loved one. Melancholy, nostalgia, anger, cathartic with the solo. Beautiful work! Also I laughed out loud when I heard you say that those bends will never go out of style and that you’ll always be able to pay your rent playing like that. Amen to that! Thanks for the great content. Can’t wait for the next episode! P.S. would love to see some Trip the Witch merchandise, especially cool T-shirts! Thanks. Raf

Truly enjoy all of the musical journeys you share with everyone, but there is just something about how you can emote with certain musical numbers you play. And I don't know how you do it as far as perfect timing for when these landscapes that you paint with music, find a way to hit me hard. The Trip the Witch song that you started this vid with took me to Rancho De La Luna, and just wanting to sit out in the open space, have a few too many tequila shots and just feel it all around you. (PS.....never made it to the actual studio, but have done a few drives out in the desert where they are) THANK YOU!!!!

You are the only guy I can EVER remember having to pause a video after just a few seconds, literally a few notes have been played, and pressing pause, picking my axe and half-hour later I am still noodling around a little something you triggered in my head. Thank you. It really is magical when it happens.

Born in 57' and being a drummer since I was 13... I first moved to Nashville from Alabama in 1975 when I started selling audio gear locally. Thinking back over the many influential players at the time, many were customers for years. All of them needed high quality "Listening" or "Playback" Hi-Fi gear and most gigged around town on a regular basis like J.J. Cale, Barefoot Jerry, The Nerve, Mark Selby, Bobby Brown, Danny Tate, Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies, Phil Vassar, to name a few. However for me your gig at 3rd & Lindsley brought back that "live" fire... what a great show! Your humble & unique approach to playing is very refreshing for an older intermediate guitar player like myself. Explaining and sharing the way you hear and produce tones and chord tones is invaluable for anyone paying close attention. It reminds me or those golden years in the Music City when everything went down on 2" tape and was super secretive. Now I must catch up on a over hundred past episodes. Thanks Tom!

Listening to the album right now. Fking incredible. GENUINELY top notch stuff. To borrow a phrase: it’s rich in ‘musical nutrients’ man! To my ears it conjures up images of David Gilmour wearing cowboy boots strolling through a Blade Runner like metropolis. A few more listens and I’ll have a complete script I’m sure. Keep it up man.

I feel your pain. I think lots of us have that one special instrument that got away. In my case it was a 1966 Tele for sale in a music store 20 years ago. It had a very low price considering its vintage but the previous owner had stripped the paint and did a poor varnishing job wiping thousands off the value. It played and sounded out of this world. Wish I had taken a loan from the bank. I think it would have ended up being my main guitar had I bought it.
