Oh Steph! If I was only 30 years younger! I’m an RN who ended up as a single mother, raising a daughter, and felt torn my entire life. I wanted the kind of life that you are blessed with, but God had a different plan for me. I was mother, father, head chef, mechanic….the whole thing. I waited a lifetime, but God brought me a man who is beyond my dreams. My child bearing years are way over and I’m retiring from nursing. So, I’m now a homemaker and take care of my wonderful husband. We are putting up 2 large raised beds for gardening and have canned a lot last year from produce from a local farmer. I live vicariously through your videos as well as Three Rivers Homestead, Homesteading with the Zimmermans, Farmhouse on Boone, Our Oily House, and Lewis Acre Homestead. It brings me such joy watching you all live your best lives and I’m truly thankful to see you so blessed!! If I had my life to live over again…..Sometimes I get sad thinking about how wonderful it would’ve been to have a child with my husband….he’s a great Dad. He’s old school and knows how to take care of a wife and home….he does the little things…..treats me like a queen! He’s absolutely my king and being able to experience a more traditional role like my mother, has made my soul sing! I pray for you all and am so proud of you! What a wonderful example you are of being a wife, mother, homemaker and sister to those of us watching! God bless you, your family and that precious babe!!❤️❤️❤️
I love the starter story 😮😂wow .... I truly believe God has everything in His control and nothing is too big or too small for Him. That chunk of dehydrated starter was just one small example. ❤
Haha I always notice she does that and I chuckle because I always close my dishwasher with mine. I do a little side kick and my daughter was loading the dishes recently and tried to close it like me. 😂😂
My daughter is the same way when I go out to help her. She wants to do the work while I sit with the baby. I tell her that I don’t mind doing it but she wants to do all the things.
I tell my MIL the same! She lives in another state and we are with baby all day, plus for me cleaning/cooking etc is a stress relief especially if I can do it without interruptions.
I was the same way. I let my mom get all the snuggles so I could do the dishes and make some snacks and do laundry. It was so therapeutic to feel that normalcy of the mundane.
When I was having babies , not very many people used the wraps. If the baby was sleeping, they went in the crib. I do love the nurturing that the baby gets from the wraps.
I bet your mother is so proud of you. I just had my 3rd daughter and I so look forward to being able to come over to help them after they have their babies! Thanks for sharing!
So glad to hear about your starter revival!! I've dehydrated some of mine just in case. There's stories of women using their discard to patch holes between logs in their cabins. Then if some tragedy bee fell their starter they could just scrape some that they'd used to patch a hole to restart their starter 🤗
Way to go on saving that sourdough. I have a hundred-year-old starter, it has been passed around in our family/neighborhood and town for generations. We were taught to always have a little bit of dried-out starter saved in a jar out on the shelf. It never goes bad. Every 3-4 years, I dry out a new batch (a tablespoon) to replace my old one.
You are so right….when you homestead or live in remote areas, you got to be a team and work together. Sometimes that’s all you can depend on. Great video. 🇨🇦🌷
Crazy story about the starter! I actually dehydrated some of mine and have it in the deep freezer in case anything ever happens to mine. So glad you got yours back!
You look amazing! You don’t look like you just had a baby 3 weeks ago. Thank you for taking your time to film this with your hands full while adjusting to having a new baby while keeping your household running. It always takes time to get your new rhythm once a new little one comes along.
Another great video, loving all the pregnancy, birth and life with a newborn content! Learning so much and am so grateful for the encouragement as I grow baby #3 now!
You look great. You and that sourdough starter bounced back! This mildly reminds me of my husband throwing away the homemade apple cider vinegar a dear friend shared from our orchard that took a long time to make and she had no more. I cried.
I signed up for Thrive after watching one of your previous videos! Thrive Gives, to be exact. You’re the only one I’ve heard mention it, and I’m so thankful! I’m seriously so excited when it’s time to place an order. And, I’m constantly checking my email for the shipping info. 😅
Gotta love mothers who just want to come over and help ☺my mother was the same when I had both my children, they just feel like they need to lighten the burden, although I do understand when you say that just holding the baby so you can get things done is what you preferred as I was the same. By the way you look just like your mother, both beautiful. Your baby son is adorable and so is your toddler 😍
Baby is so precious. I am always amazed at how much you get done in A day! I laughed when you close the oven with your foot! Ha ha. I do the exact same thing and also close the dishwasher door with my foot too.😅
Okay. I just started following you like yesterday. I love that you’re different and real. The way you commentate on your videos is practical and very helpful. Pregnant with my fifth baby soon too. I’m thankful to have stumbled on your channel. I could see you taking the lead on my favorite mamas. Ughhh😢 and I really love the ladies I follow.
You look so much like your Mom 😮❤. Love your videos 😊just the way you explain everything and how multitasking you are. Opening your oven with your foot😂😂love it
That's so awesome!!! I mean people dehydrate their starter so same concept!!!!! I just love that! Also so happy for you! I know how comfortable you get with your starter. It's kinda like another baby lol
I was out of town for months, and my mother in law was checking on the house. Well she decided to clean our refrigerator, and she didn’t know what my starter was and she threw it away. When I got back home I frantically looked for it, but it was gone. I cried and got mad at my husband lol 😂
So happy about your starter! That was a close one! Enjoy your videos so much! Being a grandmother myself Im sure your Mother totally enjoyed holding her newest grandbaby!❤😊
I love having my mom and mother in law close so they can spend time with the baby, it’s so sweet and I hope my kids include me in the day to day as well when that season comes for me to be a grandma!
This video is so relatible! I'm pregnant with my fifth, 34 weeks. We have the whole small Homestead going and there is so much to be done. Our cow freshened recently so we have a lot of milk and I have been experimenting with different ways to use it. Great to see another mom in a similar walk of life.❤
My mom had 16 babies and always tells me to give myself at least 4 months to get back to some kind of normal. I find that's a very realistic time frame! You are doing great ❤
She is absolutely amazing! All of them were born naturally and one was a set of twins 😁 this is back when hospitals were terrible and home birth had to be done secretly
@@morningstarhomestead that’s even more impressive. Your Mom is one of those super strong people. The type of lady you definitely pick for your kick ball team for sure! Remember kick ball? When we all just didn’t want to be picked last? Your Mom is team captain 100-%
Girl you literally look amazing already! Idk if you wear a belly wrap or not but if you don’t you literally go back naturally so quick! You would never know you just had a baby! Your nose and face have also went back to normal so quick! You were made for having babies literally! You go girl 💪🏼🙌🏼😊😍 -Taylor from Pennsylvania💖
I’ve thought about letting my daughter take that on as a little project but I’m not sure if there are any hoops to jump through since it would technically be selling a food item? I’ll have to look into it!
the newborn noises in the voice over 🥹 it’s my DREAM to homestead!!! i just know it’s not my husbands dream and i wouldn’t be able to do it alone 😭 might just start with a small garden and sourdough!
Yes start small!! Even though my husband grew up on a farm he was very hesitant about dairy, chickens, etc. because that’s not the way they did things. But over time as he saw that I was committed to tending to things I started and it wasn’t just a phase he softened and now he’s all about it!
Nursing on the go yes been there!! Chasing a 2yr old lol but I agree sit as often as you can but nursing on the go is something that may need to happen too 😂
That bread looks incredible! I'm going to see if you have those pans listed as well. Soooo glad you were able to revive your starter. Just 2 weeks ago, I froze some of mine for that very reason. You and your family are beautiful!
Very sweet little baby i am happy to see how you make everything work even with a baby. I am enjoying watching how your makeing your bread. Can you make some soups and salads i would love to have some new ideas for makeing salads and soups for meals
I love that you found a few dried preserved sourdough starter crusts. God is so good, even when we think something is lost or gone, He knows how disappointing that was and recovered it in a beautiful way. I remember listening one time to a video you had and you said you follow a certain religion. I followed religion too until I started reading the Bible and saw how different what the word of God says to what man made religion says. My husband is the head of our home, he covers and protects me so I can be an umbrella of protection to our home and children. God is the cover to Jesus/Yeshua and Yeshua is to our husbands. Some people think the church is the covering to the husband but scripture shows us that our Savior is that covering to our husband. I loved how you did not fight that role we each have been given but embrace the dear sweet role God has given to us that we are equipped for. Love that. 1 Corinthians 11:3 King James Version 3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
I'm a teen and have just made my first (surviving) sourdough starter, any tips? (It's currently 10 days old, I've only ever had starter last to day 5 or 6)
So excited for you!! Learn from my latest mistake and dry some out to save just in case! You can spread a thin layer of starter on some parchment paper and just let it dry at room temp for a few days, then store it in a jar!
Hello Stephanie! Congratulations on your new little bundle of joy ❤. I have a question regarding your scones. I am looking to make them since I love scones. My question is, can I make these and freeze, then cook frozen? I have some that I have done this way to bake fresh. Also, is skillet baking the only way they must be cooked, or can they also be cooked the traditional way? Much love and blessings to you and your family. ❤
Dear Steph, What an ingenious idea to use a muffin tin for planting seeds! That's truly remarkable! I humbly request your prayers for my partner and me during this challenging time. My partner has recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, and the weight of this news is heavy on my heart and mind. Despite the circumstances, I remain committed to providing nutritious meals for us, even as our children are grown. It's a difficult time as my partner's mobility is limited, and we are preparing for the start of chemotherapy. Your support and prayers mean a great deal to us. Thank you. Xoxo.
Do you mind sharing what size nueflora dress you usually get? I have a similar body type and looks like similar size to you. Deciding between medium and large. They are pricey so I’d like to make sure I have the right size before buying. Thanks!
Estas hermosa con el nuevo miembro de la familia, te felicito eres muy brillante explicas exactamente como nos gusta a tus fieles seguidores Dios te colme de muchas bendiciones, para ti y ka familia, un merecido like, eres la mejor.
@@HopewellHeights I’d really like to know! I’ve been wanting a freeze dryer after following a lot of people who have had one. I’ve only heard one person give feedback on the power bill the other night. She said her power bill was quadrupled. 😬 That would change my mind if multiple people said that.
John 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name [was] John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might believe. He was not that Light, but [was sent] to bear witness of that Light. [That] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
What kind of carrier have you tried? It's really helpful to get one with hip support, not thr ones that only attach at the shoulders. Helps keep the weight from pulling on your back
At least for now, unless the baby is really light, only a few weeks old usually, it just hurts too much on my back or front. It's sad to me, I have always dreamed of baby wearing with my own bundles of joy, but I've been thrown from a car at 80mph, and had shoulder surgery, it's a miracle im not just paralyzed, i can do most things, but i have daily pain.
Hi I am a new subscriber I love your channel today I started a sourdough starter for the first time I hope it come out good I will be making my bread for the first time in my life
Can relate to baby close together-- all four of mine are within five years ;) I love wearing my newborns just like that-- so cozy! And, I can't get over how beautiful your kitchen is. Just lovely!
