it's april 13th, 2021, and i am telling you to read homestuck.

i started this video in december and then stopped working on it for 3 months and then suddenly realized "oh shit it's april i should post the trailer on 4/13" and now hi. thanks for watching. and reading the desc. i hear nobody does that these days. i do though. am i alone in this

this makes me want to go back, read it again, and still hope that it doesn't deconstruct itself after Act 5. Oh Hussie, you can not build a creation mythos and deconstruct it all at once. it literally eats itself, and not in any good way

Same here!! I actually teared up at Jade’s bit at the end (I’ve always loved the energy Adox brings to Jade). Hearing the Voxus crew’s voices makes me want to go back and binge the Let’s Read again.

Yeah, like, can we all throw money at this person so they make more stuff? Man, how sweet would a little trailer for each act be? And the nice thing about HS being soooooooo long is that you can have spoilers in trailers cuz ain't no one gonna remember it by the time they get there in the comic.

Up until this point, introoducing new friends about homestuck starts with saying that same old line (you know the one), before strapping them down to a chair and forcing them to watch at gunpoint. Now I think i'll just show them this trailer instead!

I never really "got" people who like ASMR stuff as I don't get Frisson from any of it. But after devouring HS multiple times over the last couple years, I've realized I get Frisson when I hear or think of music that makes me visualize scenes from stories (so like, from podcasts where they have custom music while a role-playing session or such) that gave me major feels when I was reading/watching/listening to them originally. So now I can do it on command which is cool but I also can have it hit me unexpectedly if a song comes on during a shuffled playlist.

On one hand, this is amazing and wonderful to watch and is by far the best "fan trailer" I've ever seen On the other hand, I feel obligation to be the of the few to apply some critique: 1: the trailer is too long. It'd be more interesting and compelling if there were two trailers, and it was split between rose's part and when John speaks up. 2: of the two suggested versions, I think the first one is better, given that the variety of voices in the second half almost suggests this is a voice acted project. And having just one voice actor speak over the trailer comes off more as "narrator" than "everyone has voices". Overall, so beautiful! Love it!

originally, i did actually consider ending the video right after the first half! however, i had the idea to make it exactly 4:13 long and i just couldn’t pass up the opportunity. thank you for your input, though! i’m glad you enjoyed it!! :)
