That area became the dumping ground for the Council to put its immigrants! It’s has lost many of it buildings now and the area has lost its cohesive community and its become impoverished! What could have been is now lost forever because of Council Vandalism and Governmental Weakness!

The church is Saint Paul's on the Moseley road .It was demolished for some 1960's reasons of Destruction ..like so many beautiful old churches in the city . St .Paul's was next to Wheatley's Funeral Home .We used to have to deliver many floral tributes there.I think a lot of so called Progress In Birmingham was sheer vandelism.We had an old Great Aunt and Uncle live off Monument road in Edgebaston,Small little rows of cottages that only needed some modernism, small bathroom & lavatory .Today would be great for first time buyers .My uncle would ask to me to go to The Outdoor just close to their home and get a jug of stout. Simple but happy communities .Uncle Jack worked in retirement at the County cricket ground as car Park man.Happy memories..I wonder if people remember the lovely old Church of the Redeemer on Hagley road just passed Ivy Bush .P.H. Octagonal (?) tower?
