The last game against merfolks was me , i started playing mtg 1 week after you and somehow i managed to hit diamond , i'm still learning the game but that game fore sure i got unlucky , i couldnt find " deeproot pilgrimage ". Watching your video helped me learn from my mistakes, thanks @mogwai ive been watching your stream and video since Lor release, hope i meet you again in game
Very nice deck! I tried it with 4x "Rite of Oblivion" instead of Get Lost and two of the Annihilating Glares, it is very good removal that can exile anything and even has flashback, so you can use it twice. Also I switched out two of the lands for 2x Teysa, I felt I had so much card draw that I didn't have a problem finding enough lands and Teysa has such good synergy with all the clue tokens, it felt a shame not to include her.

Ever experimented with wandering throne? There must be dome nice combos. Maybe with human creatures? Love the vids sadly as a hobby deck builder magic isnt quite enjoyable to play, still watching every video by u. Keep it up
Homicide investigator's ability has a bit of a redundant wording, hasn't he? It says "When one or more creatures die", which is meant to prevent a boardwipe to generate multiple clues with just one spell, but then it also says "this ability triggers only once each turn", making it impossible to generate more than one clue even if 15 creature deaths triggered it at once, only one of those would go on the stack. Weird.
Hey Mogwai, I really want to get into mtg arena but I don't know how I should handle the new player experience or how I should optimally progress in game. Can you maybe make a guide on what to expect as a new player and how I would go about building my collection?
@@EggsAreGood55 blue card making a clue each time you cast an artifact and reduce the cost of activated abilities from artifacts by 1 (so you would pay only 1 to draw with clues) We were trying to build a deck with him on stream and it didn't go well xD

I think MTG is a better designed game tbh. There's a reason it's relevant to this day and LOR isn't. PS - I'm not trying to shit on LOR, I loved the game and owe it a great deal. LOR's downfall was due to it's issues finding an identity beyond HS/MTG hybrid, while it drew in a big crowd from Riot it failed to retain players from those games. Expansions after Rising Tides made the game inherently more frustrating and that took a toll on the playerbase. With the latest expansion I really felt the game was headed in a very promising direction but it turned out to be too late. I loved Legends of Runeterra, but the game had many faults and I don't think it's fair to claim it was a top tier game because sadly it just wasn't.
@@MegaMogwai I personally didn't like how they clearly tried to create champions to pair with each other such as Nautilus and Maokai, Senna and Veigar, etc. Seemed like they tried to do most of the deckbuilding for you. I'm curious what you think of that since you focus so heavily on deck building
Art makes no sense, mtg alwys has top tier art, much better than LoR. Mana system sucks when you get screwed or flooded but different lands add another layer to the game. Economy and voice lines goes to LoR though, also probably a reason why it became unsustainable XD.
@@jake4179The thing about LoR art is that it's much easier to appreciate due to the ability to see the picture fullscreen. In MTG, especially in Arena, all you get are little pictures on the cards themselves. As for the mana... I do agree that adding another layer to the deckbuilding via lands is great, but imo consistent mana gain just leads to better game experience.
