You make a excellent video , very interesting. If you ever visit Charleston SC we too have lots of gators. I am a wildlife photographer , they are not my favorite subject. Some of the birds you have captured we see in this area , not all. Thank you for sharing . Charleston SC
My dad lived in Homosassa for about 10 years after he retired from the Army, but moved back home (IL) a few years back. He enjoyed his time in FL. Nice video guys and the pie looked amazing.
Loved this video! Especially when you were talking about couples traveling and the light in her eyes matching her smile!❤. What a romantic you are! Lol. And of course the pie… what a great way to end the day! Thanks again for sharing your adventures!
Love the fishbowl! We’ve gone to this park for 20+ years. We love it and have taken our grandkids there many times. Wish they still had the yearly pass. We have a place in Yankeetown about 18-20 miles north on Hwy 19. This is our favorite area of Florida! Enjoyed your RU-vid video!
I live in Homosassa one little town. Then Homosassa Springs. These are the indigenous Native American Indian names of our towns. How fun to see a little piece of our little piece of the World.
Ok. You made me cry talking about Michelle. But the tour was great. I lived in Pensacola for 18 years but only went south twice and both times I didn't have time to sightsee. So thank you. If I can get back, I'll definitely be stopping there.
Since you are on the Gulf coast of Florida, go to Sarasota for pie. There are several kinds. Eat at Yoder's Amish restaurant on Bahia Ave. You would not expect it. The area is called Amish Village. I loved their peanut butter pie. The meals are also delicious. They have separate open air market and deli. I don't think you will be disappointed!
Oh to see that beautiful 🌞. It's so cloudy and cold here. It's snowing again, too. That's so cool to see the bald eagle. We have many living by the river downtown. Many people go and watch them over their lunch hour. What a majestic bird. Thanks for another great video.
If you like Mexican, Don Pepe’s (also in Dunnellon like the Front Porch) is great! On weekends it opens at 5 and is pretty busy. Good food at very reasonable prices. Withlacoochee Bike trail starts at Blue Run Park in Dunnellon, and a kayak ride down the Rainbow River is fun.
All last winter in Florida, how did I not hear of this place??? We were going to go back to FL in 2 years, now I want to go next year! We are for sure not going to hang out here In freezing AZ! Lol
And we had previously planned to be in the SW for this winter and changed to FL, lol. It’s also been pretty chilly a few days here in FL during this month. Hopefully it warms up for you guys soon!
If you want to see the spectacular waters of the inshore gulf take a fishing charter for trout/redfish with Captain Billy Henderson in Crystal River. He’s the best IMHO!
That is a great park, and agree - the boat ride both ways. We walked your tram route, OK..but the boat. Little factoid: Historically, the park was one of the original tourist destinations during the train era and it housed exotic animals and those trained for TV. When Florida acquired the property in the 60's, they transitioned from exotic animal shows to native FL wildlife. The hippo is obviously not native to FL, but due to age, no zoo would take him so the Legislature, by special act, declared Lu an honorary citizen. Also about 20 miled up the toad towards Tampa is another of the original tourist destinations, Weeki Wachee Springs that still has the live mermaids. Both of them are one of the three or four State parks that are premium priced at $13 where others are at least half that.
I went there as a kid maybe 25 years ago. I'll never forget as we we're snorkeling with the manatees, my sister described them best as "Big Sea Baked Potatoes". That, along with so many other memories came from that place. I'm glad to see the park continue on with the "Sea Baked Potato" Sanctuary. 🤗
Great tour of the park. We saw Lou and company there several years ago. I totally agree on the enjoyment of the ones you’re with being the best part. If you haven’t been there you might check out Corkscrew Swamp down around Alligator Alley from the Naples side. You’ll see all kinds of birds, gators, etc. They have naturalists and signs pointing out things you might never notice without them. See you next week!
What the boat guide said about the monkeys is untrue. There were no monkeys on THAT island they were a little ways down and the boats would stop on purpose to feed them. I never saw any monkeys steel items form tourist (I actually rode the boat many times when the monkeys were there). They were removed when all the other non native animals were removed. Only Lu was allowed to stay as a non native.
Did you stay at Crystal Isles? We just spent a couple of weeks there and loved it. Did some kayaking and the wildlife park and several other things. Had a great time.
We feel the same about caged animals, BUT it should make you feel better knowing that the reason they are kept there is because they can not survive on their own in the wild anymore. They have saved these animals lives. We mentioned this on the video. Hope that makes you feel better as it did us. 🧡
@@LivinRVision Gasparilla, every year for 100 years. Don’t miss “Delightful Dunedin” if you are still on the W coast of FL. It really is delightful. Let us know if you have questions. Safe travels.
5 miles from our home. Great place, have visited many times. You were there right around Lou’s 63rd birthday. All of the animals in the park are native to Florida except Lou. He was granted Florida citizenship.
Thanks for the wonderful videos! I really enjoyed the show and especially as y’all walked through the park. When we stay in Ocean Shores, WA, we see the bald eagles flying overhead while doing our kayaking in the canals. There’s huge nests all around. We usually rent kayaks from Ocean Shores Boat House. He’s right on the canals and he’s got everything! 10:50 Excellent camera quality and loved the selections of music 🎶😃
Facts: Lu is actually named Lucifer, he was granted citizenship so he could stay there amongst the native species. Homosassa means where the peppers grow. Lu was actually looking rather bad a few years ago but even in his extreme age (the oldest living hippo!) he's actually improved his health dramatically.
SOOO sweet Bryan! And yes, I am sure many of your followers come to see your adventures, but stay because of the love we see between you and Michelle!🤗 Happy travels!👍🏽
I really enjoy your videos. When I watch the two of you it reminds me of my husband and I. We were going to do what you guys are doing but he passed away 10 years ago. So now I travel with you two. Thanks for the trips.
So so sorry about your loss. Hopefully you know he is always still with you especially during those times you are thinking of him. It makes us happy that you get some joy from our videos. We are sure he is sharing those times with you as well. 🙏🏻🧡
Very, very, very good show today! You two get our day started every Saturday. So much fun you two. I'm with you Brian I don't like the reptiles so much either. We lived below that area once upon a time but never been to that park. Thanks so much for sharing and taking us along. Blessings to you both.
Thanks for the park adventure! I don’t live far from that park. Been when is was private owned . Much much better after the State took it over ! Thanks for sharing!
Any video with a pie in it gets a two thumbs up 👍 👍.Homosassa park is great, you drove right past our home in the Villages, that was our new golf cart bridge you drove under! Safe travels and thanks for the sticker and photo!
Wow that looks like a awesome park to add to our bucket list, we were just at Blue Springs State Park on Tues or Wednesday (I’ve slept since then lol) there were 189 manatees in the spring canal that day! It was awesome to see so many!
I think it was very noble of you to visit the reptiles even though you don't like them. Thanks for taking us with you! I enjoyed this video a lot since I doubt we will be traveling there ourselves.
I just asked Siri how long a hippo lives and average life span is 45. Lucifer has gone past that. I’m 64 and seen him at ten years old. I’ve gone to see him with so many school trips.
That’s a great park and I could’ve told you about an awesome bbq place That’s all in our home base back yard And the front porch pies are good Home made by a wonderful lady there
your love for each other shines thru in ur videos! I am happy to say I am lucky enough to have a man who feels that way about me and I sure hope he realizes how precious he is to me as well.
Drove to Dunnellon specifically to try the caramel walnut apple pie on your recommendation. It did not disappoint!’ Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Planning to visit the wildlife park tomorrow.
We loved this video! We spent the day there a couple of years ago. We’re enjoying your favorite park in Cali right now 🤓 Sherman’s Deli is our destination this week 🥧💛💛
We have a very little tiny town of a few thousand. We are on the Gulf of Mexico. But we are also enjoying to the freshwater Springs in Crystal River Florida. So this is a tourist place all year round. It never slows down. It's quite fun and quite amazing. So no it wasn't rush-hour it was normal for here.
@katherinekeon70 Mariecruthirds6639 was talking about the part in the video with the long line of fish swimming and Michelle made the joke, “It must be rush hour”. 😊
It does us too, but did you hear the reason why these animals are? They are taking care of them because they can no longer survive in the wild on their own.
Glad you are enjoying your time in Florida. I spent 3 weeks there last month and was pulling ticks off my dogs everyday. It's not for us, spending the rest of winter in southwest Arizona. Look forward to your videos, alway good information.
I live close to that Park and have been here for 14 years. In that time I have had two dogs and never had one tick. Maybe its because they get monthly flea and tick treatment. Sorry you dont like Florida but its just as well because we have about 900 people per day moving here and its getting too crowded!!
@@davemessenger1944 I meant Florida in general. Traveled around most of the state. I don't want to live in any one state. Happy for you, I like moving from place to place.
@@LivinRVision We’d enjoy just tagging along as you guys walk down the street going for the evening pie dessert. We know pie occurs more than once a week.
😂 That seems to be what everyone believes anyway. 🤓 Usually once a week during filming day and sometimes not even that. At least it gives me a reason to have pie. 😜🤓
Looked like a perfect day. What I love even more is when I am watching yall on Apple TV and it just goes to the next video... Always good for some laughs. Hope yall are warm and happy wherever you are~ (((HUGS)))
Does anyone else notice the music skipping during these videos? This is the only channel we watch that we notice this. It happens during the entire video every time we watch them.
