Although the Honda X-ADV has been around since 2017, it has yet to reach the U.S. market. This year, the scooter-tourer hybrid gets several updates. The adventure-ready chassis, long-stroke parallel-twin engine, and Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) return, but with some improvements. Notably, the four power modes have been revised to adjust power delivery, engine braking, traction control, and DCT behavior. There’s also a customizable User mode. The DCT has been fine-tuned for better low-speed control, and cruise control is now standard, enhancing its touring capability.
Optional panniers and top boxes (50-liter and 38-liter) are available, along with a “tank bag” for extra storage, giving the X-ADV a more motorcycle-like look. The new five-inch, low-glare TFT display offers more connectivity, thanks to Honda’s RoadSync smartphone app. There’s also new backlit left-handlebar controls, and the seat foam is now 10% thicker. The reshaped seat makes it easier for riders to put their feet down, and it’s simpler to open when accessing the 22-liter storage compartment with a USB-C port.
Honda is incorporating recycled materials for some of the body parts, such as using recycled automobile bumpers for the luggage box and seat base, and recycled plastic for panels. Certain fairing parts use Durabio, a biomass plastic, in line with Honda’s goal of achieving 100% sustainable material use by 2050. The adjustable windscreen now offers five positions and can be changed using only your left hand, with a range of 5.5 inches and 11 degrees. The new LED Daytime Running Lights, integrated with turn indicators, are a first for a motorcycle. A tilt sensor in the centerstand alerts you if the bike is parked on too steep of an incline, preventing it from toppling over.
The X-ADV was the fourth-best-selling adventure bike in Europe in 2023 and Honda’s best-selling model in the region, after the CB750 Hornet. With 76,000 units sold, Spain, France, and Italy are its largest markets.
For 2025, the X-ADV is available in three standard colors, plus a Special Edition with Matte Gold Finch Yellow. Pricing and release dates are yet to be announced.
