This is a “long term review” for my 2015 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. In short I have owned this Honda CBR1000RR for around 6 months and felt the time was appropriate to provide a long term review covering the Honda CBR1000RR's reliability, performance, fueling, ride, servicing costs and more. This Honda CBR1000RR has covered around 4000 km in this short space of time, so provides a good base for comparison on other reviews. As we know the Honda CBR1000RR has a historical legacy and has provided many motorcycle enthusiasts, members of the public, young and old, great enjoyment over the years. The question still remains, is this Honda CBR1000RR or Fireblade still as good quality today as it was then and does it meet my expectations?
Personal
This Honda CBR1000RR is one bike among many that I have owned over the years. I started late in life at the age of 29, here are some of the bikes that I owned other than my current Honda CBR1000RR:
Previous Bikes
Honda CBR 2012 Repsol
Suzuki GSXR 1000 K4
Aprilia Tuono 1000r 2005
Aprilia RSV Mille R 2002 (PlayStation Race replica)
MV Agusta F4 1000R 2007
MV Agusta F4 2005
Kawasaki ZX10R 2006
Suzuki GSXR 600 2001 K1
Yamaha Thundercat YZF600 1998
Suzuki TL1000R
Suzuki SV650s
Rider Stats:
6ft 1”
86kgs
Rider Comfort
Re-current minor medical issues (Gives you a baseline if considering this bike)
Sciatica: re-current
Tennis Elbow: re-current
General Back Pain: re-current
NOTE: The above does not give me much of an issue, the HONDA CBR1000RR position etc. is just sublime.
My Next bike
onsiderations are:
Aprilia Tuono RR or Factory
or
Aprlia RSV4

Love the Ohlins suspension and high end levers but still rocking stock rear fender and front reflectors.

Thank you for the video, excellent. I agree with you about reliability. I had the Aprilia RSV4 which had an intermittent fault and sometimes when starting it up went into service mode. This caused great anxiety whenever I rode it if it would start again when I came back. I decided to swap it as it was under warranty and I swapped for the same bike as yours the 2015 fireblade. As you say the reliability is outstanding and I have full confidence in the bike. I appreciate you have probably sold the bike now but my advice to you would have been to think long and hard.

Yea, it was hard to sell especially when you know the next thing could be a bottomless pit, but sometimes the drive and fun to have new toys prevails :")

Honestly, the 2015 and 2016 look much better than all the following years. 2017 wasn't bad but all the changes after that are ugly! Honda is the most reliable bike on the market! I have a 2015 Fireblade with a 2 bros exhaust. I Love it!

Saw your bike on trademe. Nice bike. FYI a cheap mod that you can do on this or your next bike is get a "tidy tail" and an "integrated tail light" so your your indicator flashes from your tail light. Did it myself to my zx10r. All road legal. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks matey, yes held off on the tail tidy because I was unsure if I wanted to keep it in the long term - Totally agree it would have made it so much neater.

Just wasnt me really. Aesthetics not quite there, to bland a paint scheme I should have stuck with the Repsol, and with the k's I do every day, damn keeping it lookng clean was so much hard work. It was a lovely bike to ride in all ways, but so prefer the Tuono I bought. Thanks :")

I realize this video is a bit old now, but did you ever get a chance to ride the SP version of the 1k? If so, what were you thoughts between the two (thinking about buying one but don't know which to get).
@mcprocrastinator7921
@mcprocrastinator7921 6 лет назад
Thanks for your comment, unfortunately I never got a chance to ride the SP, it was something I looked at however for the additional cost, there was not enough benefit in buying the SP model. When you watch all the reviews, check out MCN, they do a really nice one you will see, the that the bike itself was not much of an improvement on the standard RR, Brembo's, Ohlins are very nice, and with some minor internal engine mods, all for additional 2.7hp did not really make the bike significantly good enough to, as mentioned, spend that additional money in my view. If I was buying a 2nd hand and there was only a few hundred between I would def buy the SP, other wise I would just buy the standard RR. Either way you wont be unhappy, darn excellent bike in every way and very easy to ride!

Hi, Beautiful Bike... What made you think about getting a 2015 instead of some other years... Im looking at getting a 2008... Any Tips... Over here in the US it's the first year they went back with the Side Exhaust.... Also in 2009 I think they put ABS on them... I also Though about the 2002 and 2003 954RR... So having a hard time thinking of which one to get...

@TheCheaphead 2 года назад
I own a 2010 Fireblade with ABS, from what iv heard, you should avoid 08's for various reasons. Clutch slip issues or crank issues. There was a recall where Honda said they will fix the crank issues aswell as the clutch issues. You can see that by looking at the VIN#. Call Honda and ask them if the bike has had it fixed. Otherwise.. Such an fun and easy bike to ride. Great weight distribution, feels like riding a bicycle.

Ok thanks for the Help and Info.... I'll take pictures of vin# and ask Honda... Would a 2009 be a better year... Which years Should I Look at...

@@frankp.9655 In EU the 2010 got ABS, i dont know How it is in the US. From What I know, 2008-2015 share the same engine ( SC59 ). I think They fixed the issues after 2008 model. But I guess the newer the better 🤷🏽‍♂️

Can you tell me which honda cbr1000rr is the best and fastest.
@mcprocrastinator7921
@mcprocrastinator7921 5 лет назад
That's a tough one, the 2015 model has been superseded now by the newer models that have quite a bit more modern tech and power. It depends what you want and how much you want to spend. Old school vs new etc. Some would argue that the best fireblades were through built back in the day around 1996. From 2009 - 2013 you need to be very careful with the ABS system, they are known to fail under certain circumstances, something which Honda has avoided to admit and do a recall. Best go no ABS on these years. good luck.
